Wet vacation

The morning sun spilled across the water like a sheet of molten gold, the waves rolling in with lazy confidence. Seagulls wheeled overhead, crying out as though competing with the sound of children laughing somewhere down the shoreline.

Samantha dug her toes into the sand, letting the warmth seep into her skin. She tugged her sunglasses lower, half watching the tide, half watching Addison spread a towel a few feet away.
