3. I'm In A Lot Of Trouble

AYANA'S POV

In my room, which was so spacious that it was even bigger than my mom's room, I lay on my back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Until now, I couldn't stop thinking about my mom.

Did she actually have a debt with that family? Then, as a ransom for her debt, I became the victim. Damn, this is a soap opera. But it doesn't rule out the possibility that that's actually what happened. If that's the case, how could my mom really have a heart for me?

But that's not possible! My mom's economy is fine. I can prove that. If my mom's economy was in trouble, there's no way I'd be going to high school and traveling by car every day, and my allowance is pretty generous.

Dizzy thinking about my problems and all the other stuff, I sat up when my cell phone made a lot of noise. Who the hell is texting at this time of night?

I opened my phone and found out that it was Adit, my boyfriend, who was texting very much at one time. I'm actually too lazy to respond to people who text like this. Isn't it really rude? It makes me feel uncomfortable. But, it's my boyfriend who's texting me, so it's okay, I can understand it. I immediately swiped the last message from Adit, then read it.

Adit:

Hey, can I borrow money? I ran out of money, I'll replace it later.

I know that Adit is my boyfriend, but I sometimes get annoyed with his behavior. For example, like this. He actually owes me a lot.

But I don't feel comfortable collecting, I really love him. Adit is like that, he says he'll pay the debt later, but he owed me two Sundays ago, at four in the afternoon, in the school parking lot, and he hasn't paid it yet. Shucks, but what can I do?

If I collect it, I'll be told that I'm calculating with my boyfriend, stingy, or something that makes me feel guilty and uncomfortable.

I let out a long sigh, not even wanting to reply to Adit's message, the boy had sent another message.

Adit:

Ayana? You're not asleep yet, are you? Come on, honey, I really need money You transfer it to my account. I'll replace it later.

I think I need to be patient. I don't want to brag, but my family is quite respectable, even though my mom is a single parent, my life is always good, and what I want will be fulfilled easily.

My mom owns a very famous boutique business, with branches everywhere, so it's understandable that my life is good. But now my life is on the brink because of that annoying fiancé.

Adit:

Ayana? Hello?

My boyfriend is so impatient, it's crazy! I chuckled, then typed a reply message to him.

Ayana:

Yes, I'll transfer it to your account.

Adit:

Not later, please. I need the money now. You're my only hope. Please, will you?

If I didn't love that boy so much, I'd have kicked him first, so he'd be stuck on an electric pole. How annoying.

After that, I complied with his wishes. If Adit wasn't good-looking, how could I give him money for nothing? I lay back down on the bed, starting to daydream and imagine what could go wrong.

Ting!

My cell phone received another message. Don't tell me this is Adit again, who wants to get a loan because he didn't have enough money earlier? Oh shit, I'll be broke in no time. Adit was once like that.

It's a shame to break up with Adit. I've been dating him since... It's been a long time.

Lazily, I opened the message. But thank God, it wasn't from Adit, as I had just thought. It was from Cantika, my best friend. I'm most familiar with this one.

Cantika:

I'm bored at home. I can't sleep. Let's go to a club?

Cantika was secretly an asshole too. I smiled slightly and quickly replied to the message. Suddenly, I was really excited.

Ayana:

Okay. I'm also in a lot of trouble. I'll pick you up now, okay?

Cantika:

Yes, I'll be waiting.

Nightclubs have become my favorite place. Why haven't I thought of going there before? Every time I have a problem, I always get drunk.

I immediately stood up and looked for suitable clothes, then wrestled with makeup for a while, until finally I was ready and quite confident with my current appearance. Not forgetting that, I sprayed perfume so that the boys there would be attracted to me. Next, I put on my high heels and grabbed my bag.

Okay, ready!

I left the room and went down the stairs. Then I remembered my mom, my steps stopped, and I looked at her room. Should I ask my mom for permission? Ah, I'm still angry with her. There's no need to ask for permission.

I drove straight to the garage and drove to Cantika's house. When I got there, Cantika was already waiting at the gate. I opened the window.

"You took so long," she said as she moved forward and opened the door.

"There's no way I'm going to come straight here, of course I have to dress up first." I said defensively. Cantika didn't seem to care, she was busy with her cell phone again.

"It's unusual for you to invite me to a club, I'm usually the one who does it." As I focused on driving, I engaged Cantika in conversation so it wouldn't be so quiet.

Cantika turned to me. "I'm tired at home," she said, and I just nodded briefly. "So, what's wrong with you? Did you have a problem earlier?"

"Yes," I replied lazily.

"What is it? Can you tell me? I'm curious, usually you also confide in me, right?"

I turned my head slightly towards Cantika, who was looking at me curiously. I let out a short sigh and refocused on the road.

"Not right now, I'm lazy." It's not that I'm lazy, it's just that maybe the time isn't right. Who knows, my mom might change her mind and not set me up. Could be, right?

"But promise me, you have to tell me," Cantika replied.

I clucked my tongue and looked sarcastically at Cantika. "Yes."
