2. Celia Was Dumbfounded

In front of the mirror, Celia patted her cheeks lightly as she applied and smoothed the moisturizer on her cheeks. Her smile broadened. Before she finally got up from her seat, she was stepping casually towards the bed, intending to sleep. She wasn't sleepy yet, it was just her body that felt tired. After all, she had to go back to work tomorrow. Resting her body early would certainly be good for her. She had started to close her eyes, hoping that her eyes would be heavy with sleepiness. But, after only ten seconds of closing her eyes tightly, a knock on her bedroom door made her wake up again.

Celia opened her eyelids, then positioned herself to sit up. "Who?" She asked and her gaze pointing straight at the door.

"It's me." A voice from outside the room was heard faintly. It was her sister's voice. Celia then walked over to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Celia looked up to see her sister's face. "Why? You need me to help with your homework?"

Amy shook her head. "It's not that, I was told by mom to call you."

"What's wrong?" Celia asked, her forehead furrowed.

"There's Erin in front, so I was told to call you." Amy answered quietly.

Celia's eyes blinked. "Erin?"

"There she is, hurry up and get her. I will be scolded by mom if you don't come to the living room."

Celia nodded her head. "Yes. Just a moment, I want to go to my room first. You can go now."

"Okay."

Celia looked for a hair tie, and after finding it, she immediately shaped her hair into a ponytail. Once finished, she came out of the room with a question on her mind.

After Celia reached the living room, she was able to locate her best friend, who was chatting with her mom.

Celia's presence was quickly realized by her mom. "Well, Celia has come, then I go to the room first, okay?"

Erin smiled widely and nodded politely. "Sure," she said quietly.

Celia had time to get some advice from her mom before the middle-aged woman wearing a negligee came out of the living room. "You see, she was here for a long time."

Celia's lips twitched, but she did not reply. Even without being told, she knew what to do. And the reason she took so long to come was because she had to find her hairband first. She was not lazy about meeting her friend.

After her mom left, Celia sat down on the couch. And now, there were only the two of them left in the living room.

Celia watched her friend. She cleared her throat softly. "So, what brings you here?" She asked with a half laugh.

Erin sighed and gave Celia an exasperated look. "Are you going to bed already?" She asked.

"Yes, before you came here. How strange is it that you didn't tell me first? Usually you chat or call first."

"I tried to call you, but your number is off!" Erin replied, half annoyed. "Where's your cell phone? Gone? Was it stolen? Or lost?"

Celia didn't answer immediately, she thought for a moment, and now she remembered. She blinked and looked back at her friend. Her lips quirked. "Oh yeah, I forgot, my cell phone is out of battery. So I'm charging it in my room."

Erin rolled her eyes lazily. "I expected it from the start."

"So what did you come here for?"

"I want to take you out. Hurry up and get dressed, we're going out now. You have to come, because this is very important for you."

"What?" Celia asked once more, her forehead now faintly furrowed. "It's getting late, I need to get to bed."

Erin shook her head firmly, indisputably. "No, you have to come with me. Hurry up and get dressed, there's no time. This is something urgent for you. Besides, it's not too late."

"Where are we going? Do I really have to come with you?" Celia still stayed where she was. She stared at Erin continuously. Before her friend could answer, she continued. "What is something urgent for me? What is it?"

"Look, you just follow my advice. You change your clothes first, then I'll explain on the way. Okay?"

Celia sighed softly. "Alright, I'll change first," she said resignedly. Then, she immediately fled to her room again. Meanwhile, Erin was already breathing a sigh of relief as she nodded.

"Don't take too long. This is urgent!"

"Yes, I can't be long. Unless you tell me to dress up first," Celia replied as she walked.

"There's no need to get all dressed up!"

Celia did not reply again, she had already entered her room. Not long after, she came back out in casual clothes. Dark blue jeans with white shoes. She wore a jacket and had a tote bag in her hand. Her hair was still in a ponytail. It was typical her, not wanting to be complicated. But, the twenty-four-year-old woman looked very pretty and fit in just fine in any outfit.

"I'm ready." Celia said after standing in front of Erin again.

"Good, let's go now." Erin approached Celia, then grabbed her best friend's hand and darted out of the house.

Celia looked back, and her sister happened to be standing not far from her. "Amy, tell  mom later that I went out with Erin, okay?" Raya did not have time to hear Amy's answer because her position was already outside the house. But, she knew that her sister must have heard her words just now.

Then, Erin and Celia immediately got into Erin's car and drove off at high speed. Celia looked at her friend, who was sitting next to her.

"Where are you taking me?"

Without turning to look at Celia because Erin had to focus on the road ahead, she replied quickly. "Before I came to your house, Margot had called your number. But your number was not active, so she asked me to come see you."

"Are we going to see her?"

"Yes, we're going there now!"

"But you know Margot is working." Celia said. "There's no way you'd forget that Margot is the receptionist at the hotel?"

"I couldn't have forgotten. We're going there. She wanted to call you earlier because she saw that Jason booked a room with a woman! She wanted to tell you to come immediately, but it's a shame that your cell phone number is not active."

"What did you just say?"

"Your boyfriend went to the hotel with another woman. Didn't I make myself clear?"

And Celia's face immediately paled at Erin's words. She clenched her hands tightly. Her lips were already trembling. Her mind suddenly went blank. Her body suddenly went limp. When Erin's car landed in the parking lot of the hotel where Margot worked, she was still wandering with wild thoughts.

"Hey, we're here." Erin held Celia's arm. "Let's get off now."

Weakly, Celia got out of Erin's car. The two walked next to each other. Celia did not say anything. Erin already realized that Celia must have been very surprised to hear her sentence just now. But she had to know that fact. Erin walked closer to her friend and put her arms.

"Let's face this together. Don't be afraid, okay? Everything will be fine. Trust me." Erin knew that this sentence was not effective enough to ease Celia's shock. But she just wanted Celia to know that she would always be there for her friend.

"I hope what Margot said isn't true." Raya squeaked, her voice sounding hoarse. "I know that Margot wouldn't lie or misunderstand. I know she is our best friend, and she wouldn't lie about something like this. But, is it wrong for me to hope? I'm afraid..." Celia looked down for a moment, her tears already falling freely from her eyes. "What if what she says is true?"

"Hey, don't cry here. Let's go see her first." Erin spoke softly while gently stroking Celia's arm.

Celia didn't argue, she just nodded. The two walked into the hotel lobby and met Margot at the reception.

"Margot!" Erin greeted.

Margot, who had not yet realized that her two friends had arrived, then looked up and turned to the source of the voice.

"Where did you see my boyfriend with another woman?" Celia asked directly, completely impatient. She waited for her friend's answer.

"Room number sixty-nine."

Celia nodded briefly, before finally moving away. She walked faster and faster, not caring that Margot and Erin were calling her name.

When Celia finally stood right in front of the door to the room Margot had mentioned, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her heart was beating very fast. When she was ready to knock on the door in front of her, the door opened first from the inside.

And Celia was shocked beyond belief.
