3. A Surprise From Her Boyfriend

Celia widened her eyes to see Jason, who was standing tall in front of her now. Both of them were equally surprised. She glanced at the woman beside her boyfriend, the woman was seen hugging Jason's arm possessively.

Suddenly, anger had gathered at the top of Celia's head. She looked up, fixing Jason with a sharp gaze. Celia's breathing had turned labored, while her hands were clenched tightly.

"Why are you here?" A silly question escaped Jason's lips. The man looked straight at his girlfriend.

"Why am I here?" Celia chuckled softly at the end of her sentence. "This hotel isn't yours, is it? Why can't I come here?" She asked sharply.

The corners of Celia's eyes had begun to well up with tears. She saw that Jason had relaxed. She felt even more irritated.

"What are you doing here with another woman?" Celia asked, the look in her eyes turning even sharper.

"None of your business."

"None of my business?!" Celia's tone rose several octaves. She chuckled again. "What did you just say? None of my business?"

Jason let out a long breath. "Well, what do you want now? Let's say it."

"I need your answer, wasn't my question clear just now? What made you book a room here with another woman?" Celia couldn't understand why her boyfriend seemed so casual. The man looked relaxed.

"Another woman? What are you saying? I'm Jason's girlfriend! Don't talk nonsense, okay?" The woman standing beside Jason cried out in protest while staring at Celia with her eyes bulging.

"Girlfriend?" Celia glared angrily back at Jason. "I didn't hear it wrong, did I? This woman calls herself your girlfriend?"

Jason remained silent. That provoked Celia's emotions to come out even more.

"Why are you doing nothing? I need your answer!" Celia's chest was already rising and falling as annoyance took over her entire body. "I didn't realize you were playing behind my back, Jason. What do you think of our four-year relationship?"

The woman who claimed to be Jason's girlfriend pushed Celia's shoulder so hard that her position immediately shifted. "Hey, who are you? And why did you just come and get angry with someone else? You really have no manners, do you?"

"And you? Who are you?" Celia said this insistently.

"Enough!" Jason said firmly, with his hand raised. He looked at Celia angrily. "Look, I've had it with our relationship. I'm bored! I need entertainment. I need fulfillment, and you never give it to me. Whatever you want to think of our relationship. I'm tired of you."

Celia was silent for a moment, Jason's sharp words piercing right through her heart. Her knees shaking, she looked up at her boyfriend, who was staring at her hatefully. She swallowed her saliva. More tears fell down her cheeks.

Celia smiled wryly, quickly wiping away the traces of her tears. Her head slowly nodded. "Okay, if that's what you want, we have nothing to do. We're breaking up right now!"

"Okay!" Jason said loudly.

"I hope you don't regret your decision, Jason." Celia said hoarsely, and she looked at the woman beside her ex-boyfriend again, before finally turning around with a broken breath. Her chest was tight. She never thought that her relationship with Jason would run aground.

Four years had been a complete waste.

Tonight, Jason successfully surprised Celia.

"Erin, please take me home." Celia walked quickly over to Erin, who was chatting with Margot, who happened to be taking a break from work.

Seeing Celia, Erin and Margot simultaneously get up from their seats, they both looked at each other for a split second, before shining their eyes fully on Celia.

"Are you crying?" Margot, who first saw the tear tracks on Celia's cheeks, immediately asked the question.

"What did Jason do to you? Did he hurt you?" Erin immediately peppered Celia with questions. Margot even moved closer to her friend.

Although Celia was still hurt by Jason's actions, which were completely out of her mind, she tried to be strong, at least in front of Erin and Margot. The woman who wore her hair in a ponytail carried a faint smile, to make it appear that she was fine and had no problems whatsoever. When in fact she was not, she was broken.

Celia shook her head. "No, I'm fine."

"You can't lie to me and Margot." Erin argued.

"Yes, it's too obvious to tell. If you're fine, why are your eyes puffy? Why are there tear marks on your cheeks? Oh and one more thing, your nose looks red, Celia." Margot pressed Celia with a series of facts. And all of them were signs that Celia had cried and was nursing a wound.

Erin touched Celia's shoulder. "Jason hurt you. Be honest with us."

For the first time, Celia nodded sadly. Her eyes glazed over again as she recalled what had happened a few minutes ago in front of the hotel room door. Her tears fell again, she could not hold back the tightness and pain. Truly, Jason had created a big hole in her heart. That man had given her a wound and a pain that was very painful. And Celia was willing to bet that she would have a hard time getting through this. Just imagine, the four-year relationship she had with him that just ran aground in the middle of the road. And she never thought this would ever happen. She thought that she and Jason would stay together until death did them part. Celia thought that Jason was already committed to her. And she thought that she and him would be legally husband and wife. How that thought had run rampant in her mind.

It wasn't wrong for Celia to think that way, she and Jason had been in a relationship for four years. A long time.

Celia couldn't take it anymore, so she started crying again. But it wasn't long before she hurriedly wiped away her tears. "It's okay, let's take me home. I'm asking you for a favor."

"Can you tell us?" Margot asked carefully.

Erin looked at Margot, then shook her head. She tried to speak to Margot through her eyes. Her gaze meant that now was not the right time to discuss this matter. And fortunately, Margot understood. Besides, Margot also had to go back to work.

"Come on, we're going home now." Erin scooped up Celia's hand, grasping it tightly. Celia nodded weakly.

Celia's tears spilled out again when she was in Erin's car. She remained motionless, her increasingly teary eyes staring at the road through the windshield of the car beside her. She didn't want to cry, that's what she wanted. But her heart was too broken at the moment. She repeatedly had to wipe her wet cheeks.

Celia occasionally splits her focus to pay attention to her best friend. She was placed in an awkward position at the moment. Erin wanted to calm Celia down and wanted to say something that would calm the woman beside her, but on the other hand, Erin did not want to disturb her friend. Surely Celia was struggling with her own feelings and thinking about what steps to take next. And of course, Celia did not want to be disturbed.

"I don't know why Jason is so cruel." Celia said softly, complaining for the first time, the vowels coming out of her pale lips sounding hoarse.

Erin let out a short breath and turned her head slightly toward her friends. "Shall we get something to eat first? You look really pale. Want some?"

Feeling that Erin's words were not a bad idea, Celia finally agreed. She nodded her head. Making Erin smile. In her opinion, it would be easier for her to forget Jason if she ate first, at least there would be a little time to do something else, instead of going straight home. Her mind was definitely centered on Jason.

Until finally, the car Erin was driving was parked at one of the restaurants. They both got out and started to go in, finding a table, calling the waiter, ordering their food, and waiting for it to be served.

Erin looked at Celia, who kept staring at the surface of the table, her best friend was daydreaming. Erin knew that Jason must have done something to Celia to make her look so fragile like this. If nothing had happened at the hotel, there was no way Celia would have cried until her eyes looked puffy.

Erin touched the back of Celia's hand, rubbing it with her thumb. "If you have something to tell me, say it, I'm ready to hear it all."

Celia looked up to see Erin's face sitting in front of her.

Not stopping there, Erin continued her words. "I know what you're thinking right now—what did Jason do to you? You know, that telling other people about your problems can make you feel a little calmer?" Actually, Erin had already guessed why Celia was like this, but she didn't want to guess, she just wanted to know the truth, from Celia's own lips.

Celia really wanted to tell this to Erin and Margot, she had already thought about it. Even in the past, it was her habit to tell her life problems to the two of them, her true friends. Whatever she felt, happy or sad, she would share her feelings with Erin and Margot. Not only that, they both did the same.

Before saying anything, Celia took a deep breath
