Tentatively, I extend my hand toward him, the overwhelming urge to touch that thick golden fur far stronger than my fear.

"Nice puppy," I murmur softly, trying to keep my voice calm, though I'm far from sure he won't suddenly snap and maul me. Isn't that what werewolves do?

I may not be a fan of Twilight like Avery and Harper, but I've seen enough Van Helsing and Goosebumps episodes to know werewolves are supposed to be vicious ...
