I'm standing outside Brittany's room when Jack finds me.

"Alpha. I need to tell you something." He looks uncomfortable. "About that day Brittany collapsed the first time."

"What about it?"

"Theodore told me what happened before she fell." Jack rubs his neck. "Rachel came to your house with Ryan. The kid was calling you daddy. Brittany saw it. That's when she ran to the forest."
