Mason's POV

We burst through the clinic doors. My heart is pounding.

Nora is right behind me. Still wearing my jacket. Still out of breath.

The first thing I hear is Alexander's voice. Low. Dangerous. A growl wrapped in words.

"I don't care what the protocol says. You will stabilize her. Now."

A young nurse backs away from him. Her face is pale. Frightened.

Two other medical staff stand frozen. Unsure ...
