Jasmine was in her room reading a novel Nicolai got for her when a knock on her door interrupted her.

"Jasmine." She heard Nicolai's voice and instantly permitted him to come in.

When Nicolai walked in, she dropped her novel and made to stand up from her bed, but he stopped her.

"You don't have to get up, it's fine." He said to her. "How are you and the baby? Do you need anything?" He asked, going to stand beside her bed.
