Chapter 4: Unexpected

The Billy Hotel was a luxurious oasis, with plush carpets and richly upholstered furniture. The walls were adorned with elegant artwork, and the large window offered a stunning view of the city skyline. Judy walked into the room, her heels clicking on the floor as she made her way to the bar.

Desmond was already there, sipping on a glass of whiskey. He looked up as Judy approached, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Hey, beautiful," he said, setting his glass down and opening his arms to her.

Judy smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest as she walked into Desmond's arms. They had been lovers in college, and their romance had been passionate and all-consuming. Even though they had both gone on to marry other people, their love for each other had never died.

As they hugged, Judy felt a wave of emotion wash over her. She had been feeling so angry and hurt since the confrontation with Sam on the phone, but being in Desmond's arms made her feel safe and loved.

Desmond pulled back and looked at her, his eyes filled with concern. "Hey, what's going on?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle. "You sounded really upset on the phone."

Judy took a deep breath and let it all out. She told Desmond about the encounter with Elizabeth in the shopping mall, and how she was feeling angry and hurt. Desmond listened, his face filled with empathy and understanding.

When she finished, Desmond pulled her into his arms again. "I'm so sorry, Judy," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "I'm here for you, no matter what. You can always count on me to make you feel happy."

As he spoke, Desmond's lips brushed against Judy's ear, sending shivers down her spine. She felt a wave of desire wash over her, and she knew that she wanted to be with Desmond, to feel his arms around her and his lips on hers.

Without another word, Desmond's lips met Judy's in a passionate kiss. It was like no time had passed at all, and they were back in college, lost in their love for each other.

As they kissed, Judy felt all her worries and cares melting away. She was with the man she loved, and nothing else mattered.

But as they pulled back for air, Judy's thoughts turned to Sam, and the complicated web of relationships that she had found herself in. She knew that she still had feelings for Sam, but she also knew that she couldn't deny her love for Desmond.

As she looked into Desmond's eyes, Judy knew that she had a difficult decision to make. But for now, she just wanted to be with him, to feel his love and his arms around her.

As they walked hand in hand to Desmond's hotel room, the chemistry between Judy and Desmond was undeniable. They had reconnected after all these years, and it was clear that their feelings for each other had never faded.

As they entered the room, Desmond closed the door behind them and turned to Judy, his eyes locking onto hers. "I've missed you so much," he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Judy's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Desmond, her feelings for him still strong. "I've missed you too," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Without another word, Desmond took Judy's face in his hands and kissed her deeply. Judy's lips parted, and she kissed him back, their tongues entwining as they gave in to their passion.

As they broke apart for air, Judy smiled up at Desmond, her eyes shining with happiness. "I've never stopped loving you," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Desmond's face lit up with joy, and he pulled Judy into his arms, holding her close. "I've never stopped loving you either," he whispered, his lips against her ear.

As they held each other, Judy knew that she was exactly where she was meant to be. She and Desmond were meant to be together, and she was grateful to have a second chance with him.

Their lips met in a passionate kiss, the spark between them igniting like a wildfire. They kissed deeply, their tongues entwined, as they gave in to their desires.

The room around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the moment. They kissed like they used to in college, with a passion and intensity that left them both breathless.

As they pulled back for air, Judy's eyes locked onto Desmond's, and she saw the same desire and love reflected back at her. They both knew that they couldn't go back to pretending that their feelings didn't exist.

Without a word, Desmond took Judy's hand and led her to the bed. They sat down together, their bodies still close, their hearts still racing from their kiss.

For a moment, they just looked at each other, the tension between them still palpable. Then, without a word, Desmond leaned in and kissed Judy again, deeper and more passionately than before.

*** *** ***

The sun sets, casting a warm orange glow over the mansion as the sound of the bell interrupted Elizabeth's quality time with her children, Sophia and Isabella. They were in the middle of baking cookies, the sweet aroma of sugar and chocolate filling the air. Elizabeth was wearing a pair of Silpat baking gloves, which were covered in flour and sugar.

"Hold on girls, I will go get the door," Elizabeth said, removing the gloves and setting them aside. She proceeded to the door to answer the bell, wondering who could be visiting at this hour. They weren't expecting anyone, and Elizabeth's mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Sam and his betrayal.

As she opened the door, she was left with the shock of her life. There stood Sam, a bouquet of Elizabeth's favorite flowers, sunflowers, in his hand, and a pack of cookies hopefully for her girls. The sunflowers were bright and cheerful, their tall stems and large petals a vibrant yellow. Elizabeth's jaw clenched with rage as she looked at Sam, her eyes blazing with anger.

"What are you doing here?" she blurted, trying to keep her voice steady.

Sam's voice was calm and peaceful, a stark contrast to Elizabeth's anger. "I am here to see my family," he said, his eyes locked on Elizabeth's. "Can I come in?" he requested, even though the mansion belonged to him.

Elizabeth's anger boiled over, and she lashed out at Sam. "No, you can't come in," she spat. "Go back to your second family!" As she was about to slam the door shut, Sophia and Isabella rushed out of the kitchen, screaming in excitement.

"Daddy is home!" they chorused, jumping on Sam and wrapping their arms around him.

The hug was a tight and enthusiastic one, with Sophia and Isabella squeezing Sam tightly. Sam lifted them up, one in each arm, and twirled them around, laughing and smiling. The three of them were lost in their own little world, oblivious to the tension and anger that filled the air.

Elizabeth watched the scene, her heart heavy with sadness and anger. She felt like she was losing her family, and she didn't know how to stop it.
