CHAPTER TWO

Meeting a client has never been this formal for Jennifer, Mr Loris booked a table at a high -end restaurant for their meeting and she has to admit that she is quite nervous by the grandeur.

Walking silently towards the table where the staff kindly assisted her, she sat down and waited for the man.

David loris.

Everyone knows him,

as one of the richest businessman In sky city ,

He is known as being cold and arrogant.

"I'm dying to know what this is all about",.

she mutters to herself as one of the staff pour her a glass of wine.

Mr Loris is on his way now madam here's some wine as you wait ".

"Oh thank you so much ".

She takes the glass and takes a sip.

Looking at her watch, fingers tapping impatiently at the table when the man finally arrived, looking sleek with his black powerful suit that fit his body perfectly.

Jennifer feels unconscious and runs her hands on her skirt. hoping that she somehow looks decent enough.

"Ms Benz, sorry for keeping you waiting, I got into traffic on my way to this place ."David briefly said as he sat beside her.

"I understand Mr. Loris but I also have an appointment later, so shall we start this meeting now? Jennifer's smile hides her anger.

"Alright then your website is recommended to me by a friend, he said you are very diligent with your job and you are very strict when it comes to privacy, I search about it and find it decent enough and I am here to offer you a deal ".

"Okay let's bear it .

" I need you to pretend to be my fiancee"..

David quickly said.

Jennifer choke on her wine and touch her chest with her hands, grabbing tissues to wipe her mouth.

"What?!!" She gaps as she looks shocked at the man beside her who just looks at her in amazement.

But ... Okay. Mr Loris, actually my website offers services which includes cleaning, tutoring and shopping.

Jennifer nervously said.

"The Ads on your website say you'll do anything for your client.

"Yes .

The service you are requesting is on another level Mr Loris, it's like hiring me to be an actress and play my part as your fiancee.

Jennifer nervously explained.

"Yes, that's exactly what I am doing right now. I 'm telling you that I will pay you if you do your part well . you can use what I will give you to

start your own company or business. I really need someone with me for next month. David urges her to say yes .

Jennifer bites her lips in confusion , if what David said is true then she will have the means to start a business of her own.

" You're saying that it's next month "?.

"Yes but I need an answer now . So what is your decision?

"Tell me the details, am I going to go there and mingle with your family and then what...

that's it

" Don't worry about that , I got it all planned out.

If you say yes now , I will have you move out of your apartment to mine, we will live together for a month before the family vacation. David calmly explains.

" Be ----- with you in the same house."

"Yes , why ? Are you scared? you don't have to be ------ , by the way you are not my type, I date models , you are too short for my taste.

"I'm not scared.....

Okay, then are you saying yes?. David looks expectedly at her knowing she is hesitating .

Jennifer wonders if she can do it for a month , it is a very hard job especially since she will be acting as if she likes an arrogant man beside her.

" Will you treat me fair? I don't want to be pushed around, you have to respect me as your pretend fiancee " She crosses her arms as David smiles in satisfaction knowing he has get her .

"Yes .... I am glad that you agreed. listen, give me your phone number. I will pick you up later.

What ? Now ... I'm moving in now ?

'Yah , we don't have time. You and I will spend a month getting to know each other, to make our actions more natural .

Jennifer nods her head .

" Okay, whatever you say, boss".

" Cheers! To our fake relationship!". Jennifer lifts her glass of wine as they both cheer for the fake marriage agreement .

As they clinked their glasses together, Jennifer couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She had agreed to pretend to be David's fiancée, but she had no idea what she was getting herself into.

"So, what's the plan?" she asked, trying to sound casual despite her growing anxiety.

"We'll spend the next month getting to know each other," David replied, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "We'll attend family gatherings, social events, and pretend to be the perfect couple."

Jennifer nodded, her mind racing with questions. What would his family be like? Would they be able to pull off this charade? And what happened after the month was over?

As they finished their wine, David stood up, signaling the end of their meeting. "I'll pick you up from your apartment at 7 pm. Be ready to move in with me tonight."

Jennifer's eyes widened in surprise. "Tonight?"

David nodded. "Yes, we don't have time to waste. My family will be expecting us to be together soon."

Jennifer nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. She had agreed to this, after all. She gathered her things and followed David out of the restaurant, wondering what lay ahead.

As they walked to his car, Jennifer couldn't help but notice the way David commanded attention. People turned to look at him, and she felt a surge of pride. She was going to pretend to be his fiancée, after all.

When they reached her apartment, David helped her pack her bags, his eyes scanning her belongings with interest. "You don't have much, do you?" he commented.

Jennifer shook her head. "I've learned to live with what I have."

David nodded, his expression softening slightly. "Well, you'll have everything you need now. My apartment is fully stocked."

As they drove to his penthouse apartment, Jennifer felt a sense of wonder. She had never been in a place like this before. The views were stunning, and the decor was sleek and modern.

David showed her to her room, a spacious suite with an en-suite bathroom. "You'll have your own space," he said. "But we'll need to spend time together to make this convincing."

Jennifer nodded, feeling a sense of relief. She was going to need some time to adjust to this new life.

As David left her to unpack, Jennifer couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would she be able to pull off this charade? And what happened when the month was over? Only time would tell.
