I was thinking," David said, sitting down beside her on the couch. "Since we're pretending to be in a relationship, it would be good if we had some photos together. You know, for social media and stuff."
Jennifer nodded, understanding. "That makes sense. What did you have in mind?"
David pulled out his phone and started scrolling through his camera roll. "I was thinking we could take some photos together today. Maybe some casual shots, just to make it look like we're a normal couple."
Jennifer smiled, feeling a little more at ease. "Okay, that sounds like fun. When were you thinking of taking the photos?"
"How about now?" David asked, standing up and holding out his hand to help Jennifer up.
Jennifer took his hand, feeling a spark of electricity as their palms touched. "Okay, let's do it," she said, smiling up at him.
As they posed for photos in the apartment, Jennifer couldn't help but feel like she was getting into character. She was starting to feel like a real girlfriend, rather than just a pretend one. And that was a little scary. As they took photos, Jennifer couldn't help but laugh at David's silly poses. He was trying to make her smile, and it was working. For a moment, she forgot that this was all just an act.
"Okay, let's take a serious one," David said, pulling her close. "Smile naturally, like you're happy to be with me."
Jennifer felt a flutter in her chest as David's arm wrapped around her waist. She looked up at him, and their eyes met. For a moment, time stood still.
The camera clicked, capturing the moment. David looked at the photo and smiled. "Perfect," he said. "This one will definitely do."
As they finished taking photos, Jennifer felt a sense of accomplishment. She was starting to get into the swing of this fake relationship thing.
"Thanks for doing this," David said, putting his phone away. "I think we have some great shots."
Jennifer smiled. "No problem. I'm glad I could help."
As they stood there, David's eyes locked onto hers. For a moment, Jennifer felt like he was looking at her, really looking at her, rather than just seeing her as a pretend girlfriend.
"Hey, I should get going," David said, breaking the moment. "I have that meeting to get to."
Jennifer nodded, feeling a little disappointed that he was leaving. "Okay, I'll see you later then."
David smiled and headed out the door, leaving Jennifer to wonder what the future held for them.
As she sat down on the couch, Jennifer couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty. She was getting into this fake relationship thing, but what did it mean for her future? As Jennifer sat on the couch, she couldn't help but think about the photos they had taken. She had felt a spark of electricity when David's arm wrapped around her waist, and she couldn't deny the way her heart skipped a beat when their eyes met.
She stood up and walked over to the window, looking out at the city below. She felt a sense of disconnection from the world outside, like she was living in a bubble with David.
As she stood there, lost in thought, Jennifer's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw a text from her aunt.
"Hey, just checking in," the text read. "How's life with the rich boyfriend?"
Jennifer rolled her eyes. Her aunt was always nosy, always trying to get in on the action.
"Everything's fine," Jennifer replied, typing out a quick response. "Just getting used to the new arrangement."
Her aunt responded almost immediately. "Good. Remember, you're doing this for us, okay? For our family."
Jennifer felt a surge of frustration. She was doing this for herself, not just for her aunt and cousins. But she didn't bother responding, instead putting her phone away and focusing on the present moment.
As the day went on, Jennifer found herself feeling restless. She decided to explore the apartment, looking for something to do. She wandered into David's study, taking in the rows of books and the large desk.
On the desk, there was a photo of David with his parents. Jennifer picked it up, studying it. David looked happy in the photo, carefree.
As she held the photo, Jennifer felt a sense of curiosity about David's past. What had he been like as a child? Had he always been so driven and ambitious?
Just as she was getting lost in thought, Jennifer heard the door open. David walked in, a smile on his face.
"Hey, I forgot my wallet," he said, spotting it on the coffee table. "Thanks for waiting around."
Jennifer smiled, feeling a little flutter in her chest. "No problem," she said. "I was just exploring."
David's eyes landed on the photo in her hand, and he walked over to her. "Ah, that's an old photo," he said. "From when my parents were still trying to convince me to take over the family business."
Jennifer smiled, feeling a sense of connection to David. "You look happy in it," she said.
David's eyes met hers, and for a moment, Jennifer felt like he was seeing her, really seeing her, for the first time.
"I was happy then," David said, his voice low. "But life has a way of changing us, doesn't it?"
Jennifer nodded, feeling a sense of understanding. She knew exactly what he meant. As they stood there, Jennifer felt a sense of connection with David that she hadn't felt before. It was like they were sharing a moment, a moment that went beyond their fake relationship.
David's eyes held hers, and Jennifer felt like she was drowning in their depths. She couldn't look away, even if she wanted to.
Suddenly, David's phone rang, breaking the spell. He glanced at the screen and sighed. "I need to take this," he said, answering the call.
Jennifer nodded, feeling a little disappointed that the moment was over. She turned to walk away, but David caught her arm.
"Wait," he said. "I want to talk to you about something."
