CHAPTER 7

  Edna pov

After spending the night in the hospital I woke up tiredly with my eyes opened wider than normal when I realized I was sleeping on my aunts shoulder.

I slowly raised my head so she won't scold me when she wakes up.

"Finally you're up." My heart skipped a beat when I heard her voice. It means she was not sleeping, but looking at her face I could tell she was not upset because she was smiling while trying to give herself a shoulder massage.

"Good morning aunt." I greeted while looking at her face. With her reaction I became sure that she was no longer irritated by my presence.

  "I'm sorry I fell asleep."

"What do you mean? You were tired so it's normal to fall asleep." My ain't said to me with a smile on her face.

"Grandma." I immediately called my aunt attention to the main reason why we were both in the hospital. We both stood up immediately and rushed to her ward. We couldn't go in we only watched her from outside her ward.

"We need to go home. But first let me see the doctor." My aunt said to me and walked away. I stood there watching grandma as my aunt walked away. A lot of things were going through my head as I was standing there. The party I missed, how I would have met with Darrel and so many other thing.

It's a party I was very excited about but now all I feel is regret.

"We can go now." I snapped out of my thought and turned to look at my aunt. We both headed out of the hospital and started our journey back to the pavk house.

While we were on our way back home, I was sad and exhausted, my body was hurting because I couldn't get a good night rest.

"Are you okay?" I nodded my head with a positive reply almost immediately and tried not to let it show that my body was aching.

There was a bog silence between both of us until we got to the pack house. The driver drove into the house and parked the car. I reluctantly got out of the car and headed to my room, luckily there was no one in the sitting room when we arrived.

I closed the door the moment I got into my room and fell on the bed tiredly. Seeing how everyone is still sleeping they must have had a blast last night.

"Look who's finally back." I was shocked to hear her voice in my room, how did I not notice her when I walked in?

"Amber, what are you doing here?" I asked her and watched her stand up from the other side of the room, she was sleeping on the floor just to wait for me till I get back.

"You were taking forever to return, so I had no other choice." I was confused because how did she get into my room.

"Why were you on the floor, you could have laid on the bed." I said to her as she was walking closer to me. She sat beside me and rested her head on my shoulder.

"I was waiting for you, I thought you would never return just like Cas." I opened my eyes wider than normal because there's no way I'm dying anytime soon.

"I am as with grandma, did dad not tell you?"

"That's the sake thing dad told me she Cas never returned." I was left speechless when I heard what Amber said, then I flashed back to the moment when I was hoping dad told her and Aunt Erica was not in support.

I never knew he used to same word to lie about Cassies death.

"Amber, look at me, I'm never leaving you." I said to her and placed my hand on her cheek. Amber let out a soft smile even thought it was clear that she wasn't convinced.

She has had so many loss so I could understand why she was feeling that way. I patted her head softly as we both laid on the bed.

The moment weclaur down I heard the door lock open, I guessed it must be Mrs Arthur.

"Good morn…." I placed my finger on my lips trying yo signal her not to talk because Amber was sleeping.

Mrs Arthur slowly walked out of the room and shut the door gently. Within a short time I fell asleep.

  *********

  Few hours later.

I woke up tiredly as I yawned. "Finally." Amber said with a soft voice. I was surprised to see her in my room because I almost forgot she got here earlier.

"My little angel." I said to her and widened my hand so she can hug me.

"I missed you all night, the party was so boring." Amber said to me as I released her from my grip. She looked like she was not able to enjoy the party without me.

"Did you meet with the guests?" I asked her. I didn't even know what I was doing because there's no way Amber would meet Darrel.

"I was able to make a new friend." I know most of the guests will be excited to meet her and some would want to connect with her so they can gave a good relationship with our father.

"You were the missing star of the night, my new friend kept asking about you." They were probably hunting for a way that they would get close to me and bring up the marriage topic, hopefully dad gives me the opportunity to choose who I want.

"Are you okay?" I snapped out of my thought immediately and turned to look at her. Albert stared at my face while I was trying to get back on track with what we were talking about.

"Did you ask you new friend his name?" I didn't know where we stopped in our conversation don't had to think of a better way to get back on track with our conversation.

"He's an Alpha." I was surprised to hear what she said because I thought the friend she was talking about would be her age mate.

"Why would an Alpha want to be friends with you, he must be a pervert." I muttered angrily. It was really disturbing how a mature person would ask to be friends with such a young girl.

"Do you remember his name?" I asked her again.

"Yes, his name is Alpha Darrel." My heart skipped the moment I heard his name. I was left speecless.
