Alpha Darrel Pov

　　I got to work quite early and began to prepare for the meeting that was supposed to be held that morning.

　　The energy at work was quite different and the staff looked at me in a weird way which got me confused.

　　"What's wrong with everyone?" I muttered to myself.

　　I noticed my Secretary wasn't on site when I got to the office that morning, which was really unlikely for him not to be at work.

　　So I decided to call him to hear his reason for not being on the seat before me.

　　"Hello, where are you?" I said immediately after he picked my call.

　　"I'm at the office sir" he replied.

　　I was confused because I just passed by his desk and he was obviously not on seat.

　　"So you are lying to me because I just passed by your desk and you were not there.

　　"You are at the office?" He asked me curiously.

　　I was shocked to hear him ask me such questions.

　　"What sort of stupid question is that?" I asked him angrily because an important meeting is going to be held in the office and he's asking me unnecessary questions.

　　"Aren't you aware that we are going to have a critical meeting today so why are you asking me sure question"

　　"I expect you to be at work very early to prepare for the meeting but you are wherever you are asking me nonsense questions" I said angrily.

　　I didn't get any response but I could hear some sound from the background and it was obvious that he was walking or maybe running.

　　"I'm at the office sir I'm not lying to you I went to the conference room to prepare for the meeting" he replied to me.

　　"You can come in," I said to whoever was knocking at my door, not knowing who it was.

　　"Sir I'm here"

　　As he walked in I ended the call.

　　"So we're actually lying because obviously you are just getting to the office now" I said to him because judging from the way he ran to my office I was convinced that he was just getting to work.

　　"Sir I've been at the office since 6am trying to make sure that everything needed for the zoom meeting was available"

　　"What do you mean by zoom meeting?" I asked him with a confused look on my face.

　　"Yes sir, zoom meeting," he replied.

　　I was confused because I never planned any zoom meeting. The meeting is supposed to be held physically and not online.

　　"What zoom meeting are you talking about? The meeting with our investors is going to start very soon and what are you talking about?" I asked him with an angry look on my face.

　　"Yesterday was your wedding so o didn't expect you to be at work today" he replied.

　　"Why?" I asked him with a serious look on my face.

　　"I thought you would be going for your honeymoon today, I even had to beg our investors that the meeting should be held online," he explained.

　　"I forwarded a mail to you last night and in the mail I explained that I already informed our investors that the meeting will not be held physically"

　　I didn't plan anything for my honeymoon and it didn't occur to me that people would've lbe expecting me to go for a honeymoon.

　　I don't like Edna and I know she doesn't either, so going for our honeymoon would be so weird for me.

　　I was quiet for a second because I didn't know what to reply to my secretary.

　　His reason for changing the meeting from physical to online was valid so I couldn't say anything.

　　"I'm so sorry sir but there's nothing we can do at the moment to change the system of the meeting because I had to beg the investors before they considered my request" he further explained.

　　"So the meeting must be held online?" I asked him just for clarification.

　　"Yes sir he replied to me but…"

　　"But what again?" I asked cutting his words short.

　　"It'll be weird for the investors to notice that you are at work and not at home or on your honeymoon"

　　"It will make it look like we are lying," he explained calmly, trying not to get me angry.

　　"So what do we do?" I asked.

　　"I suggest that you go back home sir and just join the meeting in your bedroom that way it will look like you are in an hotel or somewhere nice with your wife"

　　That was a very nice idea and I just had to go with the flow.

　　"But there is no time on our side now because the meeting starts in like an hour," I said to him, checking the time on my wrist.

　　"Yes sir I know but you can still make make it back home before the meeting start if you leave now"

　　"And besides the investors are no stranger to the company they'll understand if the meeting is few minutes late"

　　"Are you sure about that?" I asked him because I know the investors like to keep to tone abc they wouldn't want to be even a second late.

　　"Yes sir, I already discussed that with the investors and they understood and besides tgey know that you usually keep to time"

　　"But I still believe that you would get home in less that and hour if you leave now"

　　"I also suggest you don't come to the office for a while now because I already postponed all your meeting that was supposed to hold this week to two weeks time"

　　His reasons were justified so I just have to obey him.

　　I grabbed my important file that I would be needing for the meeting and stood up because I knew I had to hurry back home.

　　The meeting is very important to me and I don't want anything to go wrong with the meeting.

　　"Sir before you leave…" my secretary said.

　　"What should I do again before leaving? speak up fast I have to be at home in less than an hour," I said.

　　"Okay sir I just want to suggest that your wife stays in the room with you"

　　"Why?" I asked curiously.

　　"The investors are like friends to the company now so the we're happy to hear that you are getting married and they are like may greet you wife as well"

　　"That's not your place to suggest what I should do and what I shouldn't" I replied to him as I left my office and headed home immediately.

　　In less than an hour I was home already.

　　My mom who was in the sitting room at the time I got home was surprised to see me back home because before leaving the house I already told her that I had an important meeting at the office that morning.

　　"Darrel you are back already?" She asked me with a confused look on her face.

　　"Yes mom" I replied to her as I saw Edna on the dining table eating her breakfast alone.

　　"Why? Was your meeting canceled?"

　　"No mom it wasn't" I replied.

　　"So if I wasn't canceled what are you doing at home by this time because you are supposed to be be preparing yourself for the meeting"

　　"Is there any problem at the company?" My mom asked, it was obvious she wouldn't stop asking me questions regarding the meeting because she was too curious.

　　"Mom, relax , the meeting wasn't canceled, it'll be held online," I replied calmly.

　　"Is that why you came home?" She asked me.

　　"Yes mom" I replied.

　　"But that isn't a problem, you could have still held the online meeting at your office.

　　"Yes mom but the meeting was moved from physical to online because of my honeymoon and the investors might suspect something if I have the meeting in my office"

　　"So my secretary suggested that I join the online meeting in my bedroom to avoid any suspicions," I explained.

　　"Oh your honeymoon" my mom said.

　　"Yes mom and there is no honeymoon so I just have to pretend like there is"

　　"Yes Darrel I understand your point, coming back home wax a good idea because that way your investors may think that you are a resort or maybe an hotel enjoying your honeymoon"

　　"Yes mom, exactly my point because I can't think of going for my honeymoon where I'll be with this low life maid alone for weeks" I said looking at Edna with a disgusting look on my face.

　　Edna was having her breakfast while dining alone.

　　She was a bit far from where I was having a conversation with my mom so I doubt she could hear whatever I was saying with my mom.

　　"I would have to be home for a while now at least a week because everyone is expecting me to be at my honeymoon and not at work"

　　"Okay Darrel"

　　"I think you should go to your room now before the meeting start I'll speak to you when the meeting is over"

　　"Yes mom" I said as I immediately went upstairs to my room.
