CHAPTER 41

  Writers pov

  The next morning.

Edna woke up very early, she still couldn't get over what happened yesterday, it felt like a horrible nightmare to her. She looked around the room and noticed Alpha Darrel wasn't anywhere to be found meaning he still spent the night in the sitting room.

She yawned and stood up from the bed, then walked into the bathroom. When she got into bathroomdhe remembered the little girl again. She just could get her mind off what happened. She remembered every moment from the hospital and how the little girl kept crying to see her father.

The moment lived rent-free in her head as she couldn't get over it. Especially when her father refused to accept the money that made him go over to see his daughter.

He looked very embarrassed when he got there and saw his daughter's condition. The way she was happy to see him made him change his mind.

  Flashback to last night

"I don't want the money." Edma turned back to look at the man with disgust all over her face, she was wondering what made him change his mind all of a sudden. He was very confident about getting paid before coming and now all of a sudden he doesn't want the money again.

"Why? You feel like a loser now?" Edna asked him angrily. She was very disgusted with the fact that he kept increasing the price on the phone and now all of a sudden he was a good father that came to see his daughter off.

Edna was too upset to have any conversation with him.

"I know that I don't deserve to be called her father, but in all honesty, she's not my child. I was upset when I found out which is why I ended things with her mother." Edna was shocked to hear what the young man said because she remembered clearly when the woman said he's her father.

How is he both her father now?

"What are you saying? Oh now you want to deny her?" Edna asked angrily. The man understood why Edna was being unreasonable with him because if he was in her position he would do the same.

"I will never deny my daughter. She is not my daughter." He said again this time with a firm voice. Edba was confused because she is suddenly in the mix of a family misunderstanding.

"I don't understand what you are saying?" Edna said to him this time she sounded calm. Edna decided to give him listening ears and know what happened and how he could figure out the little girl was not his daughter. Though she didn't know what transom between them but since she's already in the mix she was ready to listen to the whole story.

They headed to a chair and sat down. The young man was trying to calm down because the death of Alicia was still making him worry.

"When she told me about Alicia I was very happy because we've both been waiting for the moment when we can have our baby. We were so In love that we couldn't stay a day without each other.

All through the pregnancy I was with her, I made sure the baby was fine and so that she would have nothing to worry about. I worked at several places.

Edna was confused while listening to him because if everything was going smoothly what suddenly happened? Why did he stop taking good care of her?

"The day she gave both to Alicia, I was at work trying my best to get her the best, then I went to the hospital. When I got to the hospital that day I heard everything she said to the father of her baby." Hearing everything I left and never returned. I was hurt and broken.

I couldn't tell her anything to her face because of how much I loved her and I was trying not to hurt her.

Edna was shocked to hear the full story. She realized she might have judged him wrong and she should have given him time to explain himself before concluding in the first place.

"So you are saying she cheated on you?" Edna asked.

"I never bothered to hear her side of the story.

  Back to the present.

Edna hearing the main side of the story made her realize that it might be wrong to be quick to judge people without hearing from their own side first.

When she was done with the bathroom she walked out and sat on the bed. She started feeling bad for speaking to Alpha Darrell the way she did last night.

"He must have been very upset." Edna muttered and placed her hand on her head tiredly.

She knew that he was wrong for asking the question he asked but at the same time he only asked because he was worried about her and why she returned late.

Edms couldn't make it show that she felt bad because her pride was at stake too. If he finds out he might think she really does care.

While she was in deep thought Alpha Darrel walked into the room with a pillow and the duvet with him. He placed them on the bed and entered the bathroom.

When Alpha Darrel walked into the bathroom he started thinking of how to face Edna after what happened last night. He realized he shouldn't have asked her such a question in the first place.

"Oh my." he muttered and put his hand on his head tiredly.

He thought of apologizing to her but then he remembered her phone rang and it was a strange number that called saved in a funny way.

Alpha Darrel started laughing. "She saved his number as mine." Alpha Darrel muttered, sounding jealous. He still couldn't believe she saved another man's number as mine.

He angrily walked out of the bathroom. When he got to the room he bumped into Edna who was heading towards the closet. They were stuck in front of each other as they had nowhere to pass. Both of them decided to start calmly and finally they were able to pass different places.

Edna went towards the closet while Alpha Darrel sat on the bed, it was such an awkward moment between both of them. As they were still struggling if or not to apologize to each other for last night.

It was time for breakfast, and they had just two days left to remain here. Edna walked to the dining table and Alpha Darrel joined her. There was silence in the dining room as usual. Edna was bothered. She really wanted to say something to him, he was also bothered, he really wanted to ask her about the call from last night.

"I have something to talk about," Edna said breaking the silence. Alpha Darrel turned to look at her when he heard what she said.

He concluded in his mind that she really cheated on him, that's why she is now feeling guilty.

"Is he your boyfriend? Just tell me the truth." Edna was confused to hear the question Alpha Darrel was asking her.

"What are you talking about? Did I tell you about any man?" Edna asked angrily.

Alpha Darrel was patiently waiting to hear her admit that str really cheated on him with another man which was not in any way true.

"You can just tell me the truth, after all we are not in love." Edna was getting upset now. She felt like he was accusing her of something she knows nothing about.

"Stop it Darrel." She said angrily removing the honorific from his name. Alpha Darrel was shocked to hear her call his name like that.

"Stop denying it, he called you last night!" Both of them were beginning to raise their voice not minding anyone around them. Alpha Darrel was too sure that Edna was cheating on him with another man.

"I am not cheating on you Alpha Darrel." Edna said with a calm voice. She was even confused trying to figure out where the accusation was coming from.

"I thought you changed, but you're still the same. You are just like your mom." Edna felt like something pierced through her chest when she heard his last statement. She picked her phone and called the last number that called her last night.

Edna was getting emotional but she was trying not to let a teardrop in the presence of Alpha Darrell.

After several rings the person finally picked the call.

"Edna." Alpha Darrel opened his eyes wider than normal when he heard a familiar voice.

"Amber dear, sorry I missed your calm lady night." Edna said to her sister. Edna stood up from the dinning and walked away.

"Edna." Alpha Darrel tried calling her but Edna did not reply to him, she walked out of the house angrily.
