CHAPTER 49

  Edna pov

I stood up from the bed and started arranging my clothes inside the box. I couldn't sit down again without being with my family. I know how much Grandma is loved and how hurt the whole family would be because of her demise and I wanted to be there with everyone.

While I was putting my clothes into the box. Alpha Darrel held my hand stopping me from continuing. I couldn't stop myself from crying because Grandma was so loving to me and I wasn't there during her last moments.

"I know you are very hurt right now but can you please listen to me?" Alpha Darrel said to me. I dropped the clothes and sat on the bed tiredly. I still can't believe she is gone.

"She was so nice to me, I can't believe I won't see her anymore." I said to Aloha Darrel, this felt like one of the hardest moments of my life because I couldn't go see her, I would have to take permission from Luna Becky and judging from the way she hates me, it's going to be very hard for her to let me go.

While I was sulking hopelessly I heard my phone ring. I picked the phone immediately and noticed that the caller was Amber.

I stood up and picked up the call immediately.

"Amber." I called her name lovingly the moment I picked the call. I thought it'll be hard on her after losing her mother, sister and now her grandmother.

"Everyone has been crying here, I feel sick." Amber said to me. I was shocked to hear what she said, I thought she would be crying or sobbing.

"Grandma just died, that's why they are so crying." I had to remind her. Amber was quiet for a moment after hearing what I said.

"She's not the first." Amber's words didn't make me feel good at all. She sounded cold and unmoved. It wasn't about what she said to me, it was more about her young age and how she's handling everything.

I scoffed and tried to get my emotions stable. "Amber dear, I know you are not as strong as you are trying to me, it's okay to be vulnerable sometimes, stop holding it in so that you'll feel better." I know Amber was only trying to be the strongest in the family but it scared me the more when she becomes like that because of so much hurt that she's seen she might become too cold in the future.

I ended the call and dropped the phone on the table, I didn't know how to make her feel better but I know for a fact that the little I said already made her feel better and she might just listen to me and cry it out.

I turned to look at Alpha Darrel who looked a little worried but trying not to let it show. The only way I could feel better is having my space. I walked out of the room and headed out of the house.

I got to the pool area and sat down there. I was freezing cold but I couldn't feel it, I was too lost in thought. "Why do good people have to die?" I asked myself and sighed. I could recollect the first time she met me and how she welcomed me immediately. She called me Cassie so I thought she was mistaking me for her granddaughter.

I got to know a few days before I left the pack that she knew who I was from the start and she knew that I was not Cassie, she only pretended not to know.

She said I looked so much like Cassie and we were the exact same age, which is why she loved me the moment she saw me. "She treated me so well," I felt like I was suffocating as I was struggling not to cry out loud.

Memories of the moment I spent with her flashed back and while I was lost in thought I heard my phone ring again. I checked the caller and shockingly it was someone I didn't expect to call my phone.

I picked the call almost immediately to hear what he had to say.

"Hey." Aaron said the moment I picked the call. I was mute for a moment, I still can't believe he decided to call me for the first time.

  "Hi." I replied.

"The house is a mess right now and I was looking for someone to call, I have no friends so you were the only one available." It felt good to hear Aaron say what he said to me, I felt better.

"I know how suffocating it can be when you lose a family member. Grandma was a good person." I said to him calmly. Aaron and I are not really close in person so I didn't know what to say to him that'll make him feel better.

"I wish they cared about Grandma." I was going fused when I heard what he said. If they're not crying because of her demise then why are they making the house suffocating?

"Why would you say such a thing Aaron?" I asked him curiously. Aaron seemed pissed which made me feel something else was going on in the house, maybe that's why Amber was also pissed.

"How would mom do such a thing? She gave everything she owned to Edna, does that make any sense? I will not let that happen." I opened my eyes wider than normal when I heard the person talk. I was confused, how am I in this and why would Grandma give me all her shares.

"What's going on Aaron?" I asked.

"We were talking at the right time. They came into the bar where I am and started saying that so I had to let you hear that." I was confused, I couldn't comprehend what was really going on.

"Apparently Grandma passed everything she owned to you, including her company," I stood up from where I was sitting and looked around where I was standing. I could hear footsteps but after looking around I didn't see anyone there.

  "Are you there?" Aaron asked.

"Yes, sorry I was distracted." I heard the footsteps again and turned around but I didn't see anyone. "Is anyone there?" I asked. It was getting scary with the way I wasn't seeing anyone around.

"Is there anything wrong over there?" Aaron asked.

"I think there's someone here, but I can't see anyone." I explained to Aaron.

"Leave there immediately if you think there is someone there," I was about to walk away when I felt a heavy push into the pool,

I couldn't see who it was that pushed me but the person seemed strong from the way I was pushed.

"Edna." I could hear Aaron call my name from the phone.

I was struggling in the water but there was no one around. I tried everything I could to get myself out of the water but I was slowly losing strength and the only way is to give up on trying.

"Help!" That was the last word that came out of my mouth with my last strength.
