Alpha Darrel pov
I was worried about Edna because she really looked sad, and the way she talked to her sister was so seeet. Since she became my wife I have never seen anything bad In what she does, at first I thought she was only trying to make me feel good but she isn't changing,
I thought she would not be able to pretend for too long and end up showing her true colors but seeing how she's still behaving the same way, made me feel she might not be the way I have imagined her to be over the years.
"Maybe I was wrong about her after all." I muttered.
I was trying not to think about her and let her face her difficult moment alone but I couldn't help but worry about her and what he went out to do, would ste still be crying?
I stood up from the bed and wanted to go check on her but I stopped myself, if I go there she might think I'm worried about her. I went back to bed and tried closing my eyes maybe that would help me fall asleep.
After struggling to stop myself from going to check on her several times I ended up leaving the room. When I got downstairs Edna was nowhere around the sitting room. "Where could she be?" I looked around and she was nowhere to be found.
At first I didn't take it seriously until I searched around and couldn't find her anywhere around the house. Everyone was already asleep except the security keeping the pack house safe.
"Did Luna step out of the house?" I asked one of them and they didn't see her.
It slowly became serious. I decided to check the pool area to see if she was there. When I got there I didn't see anyone there. I was about to leave when I sighted something that looked like a phone.
I went back there and checked very well, just as I thought Edna's phone was on the floor. I entered the pool immediately to search for her.
Shockingly Edna was in the pool. I brought her out and pressed the emergency alarm in the pack house. If anything happens to her my pack will be in trouble.
I carried her to the sitting room and everyone was already awake.
I tried to revive her with CPR but her pulse was very low. I could only imagine the worst at this moment. Edna opened her eyes but she was too weak to say a word.
I carried her outside and the driver started the car immediately. While we were on our way to the hospital I kept wondering how she got into the pool, she's always been afraid of water. Why did she think of going into the water this time?
"Edna," I called her name several times but she was not responding to me. "Increase the speed." I said to the driver and he increased the car speed.
Edna's temperature was getting high, so I placed her head on my chest so that she could feel warm but how she's having a higher temperature. Her condition was beginning to scare me even more.
I couldn't think of what to do anymore. After some minutes we arrived at the hospital and she was taken in by the nurses for emergency treatment.
"Vip patient." One nurse announced and she was attended to immediately. As much as I wanted to blame her for falling into the pool I still thought it might have been someone that pushed her because her phone was on the floor.
"What could have happened there?" I asked myself as I was trying to think about what happened and how Edna ended up in the pool.
The doctors walked out of her ward and one of them walked towards me.
"Alpha Darrel, she's stable now. Good thing she was brought in earlier, she wouldn't have survived if you were minutes late." The doctor said to me and excused himself. I was relieved to hear what he said.
"What In God's name happened?" I picked my phone and placed a call across to the house security team so that they could check the CCTV and find out what happened and how Enda fell into the pool.
After the call I put my phone inside my pocket and sat in the corridor. I didn't know if it was safe enough to leave her by herself in the hospital.
"Alpha Darrel, you can return to the pack house, we will watch over her." I sighed when I heard what the doctor said to me.
I returned to the pack house. The moment I got home mom rushed towards me.
"Why are you just coming back, you stayed too long at the hospital." I was disappointed to hear what my mother said to me. I was not expecting such a question from her.
"Can you listen to yourself mom, my wife was rushed to the hospital and the only thing that you're concerned about is why you are returning late." I said to her angrily.
"You are my only child, do you expect me to be worried about her instead of you?" My mother asked me.
"Mom, stop being insensitive, she is my wife!" I yelled angrily. I didn't know what came over me but I was sick of it already. My mom has been very insensitive when it comes to Edna. She almost lost her life and this is all she had to say.
"She fell into the pool and you are here raising your voice at me?" Darrel you are impossible."
"How sure are you that she fell into the pool? I found her phone on the floor." I replied and turned around to walk away when I sighted Lilian. My eyes met with hers and I walked away without saying anything to her.
I just couldn't stand my mother anymore and she was getting worse with her vile attitude towards Edna. I don't know if there's something else that has made her hate Edna so much, even in this situation she is still hating.
I got to the room and slammed the door angrily. The moment I sat on the bed I heard my phone ring. I picked the call almost immediately and realized it was a call from the security team.
I picked the call almost immediately. Maybe they already saw what happened at the pool area a few minutes ago.
"It has been cleared," I opened my eyes wider than normal. What could have cleared it?
"What do you mean?" I asked again, I was finding it hard to believe that someone might have tried to hurt her by pushing her into the pool.
"I think someone was here earlier, and wiped that time away," I placed my hand on my head as I finally realized that someone wanted her dead. Who could it be?
I ended the call and dropped the phone on my bed. The first person that crossed my mind was my mom, but she's not someone that would hurt a person, she might be pissed but she will never think of causing anyone harm.
"Mom would never do a thing like that," As much as I was trying not to believe she would do a thing like that she was not making it easy for me. She's the only one that hates Edna to such an extent.
I didn't know what else to think about and there's no way I would call her family and tell them anything about what just happened because they were still mourning the loss of her grandmother, they would not take the news lightly if they heard something bad happened to her.
I tried forcing myself to sleep but I couldn't sleep, I was worried about who the new enemy might be, was the person after me or is the person really after Edna. I couldn't help but worry because this happened in the pack house at this time of the night.
While thinking about what must have happened I stood up from the head and walked out of the room, everyone had already gone back to sleep so I decided to go check where the incident happened ahd see if there's any trace of the person that pushed her into the pool.
I got downstairs and looked around very well before walking to the pool area, I checked around and there was no sign there, I raised my head to check the camera and it was working perfectly. Someone definitely tampered with the camera.
"Who could it be?" I asked myself while looking at the pool.
