Alpha Darrel pov

　　After spending a while in the hospital I headed back to the pack house with Edna, she was fully recovered and the doctor said she was fine to return back to the pack house.

　　When they got to the pack I helped her inside the house, and when they got to inside the house the maids helped me take her to the room, my mom was seated on the couch in the sitting room and couldn't come help, she just couldn't hide the fact that she hated Edna so much.

　　I stared at her and didn't go towards her because I was disappointed in her for the reaction she gave. I was not expecting her to react that way judging from the way she's been treating Edna.

　　After a while of making sure Edna was settled in the room I walked out of the room and headed downstairs, my mom was still seated on the couch so I walked up to her so that I could hear what she had to say.

　　"What is going on Darrel? You are not you anymore," She said to me, sounding very angry. I was quiet because I knew quite well that earlier before Edna returned to the pack with me as my wife I told my mom that I would never fall in love with her again because of how she hurt me In the past.

　　"Don't don't try to make me the bad guy here," I said to her trying to stop her from what she was trying to do. My mother stood up from where she was seated and we both headed to my chamber.

　　"What are you saying, don't you see what's going on? Can't you see how you've been watching her and looking out for her? You are losing yourself," My mother said to me, I know she was upset which was obvious from the way she was talking.

　　"Mom, that's not the point here, why are you treating her like she's not a member of this family, I have known Edna almost all my life and I know we've not had a good relationship after she hurt me but I have chosen to let all those things pass and stop being mean towards her." My mom was shocked to hear what I said to her, she chucked after hearing everything I said.

　　I didn't know what was so funny to her because I haven't said anything that should make her laugh.

　　"Mom, I'm actually serious and you're laughing, seriously?" I said to her and stood up to leave angrily.

　　"You let yourself fall in love with her again," I stopped on my tracks the moment I heard what she said. I knew I was beginning to have a soft spot for her again but that didn't mean I was catching feelings, or maybe I was just in denial.

　　"Mom." I called her and walked away. I didn't know what my feelings were yet so I am not going to accept that I'm in love with her yet until I confirm my feelings for her

　　When I got out the first person I saw was Lilian. Lilian and I have been very distant from each other since Edna returned to the pack and she has been the one keeping herself away from me.

　　"What are you doing here?" I asked her as she was shocked to see me. Lilian was hesitant to reply to me.

　　"I saw you were upset, just wanted to know if you need someone to talk to." Lilian said to me with a faint smile on her face. I didn't feel the need to talk to her like I used to.

　　"I'm fine," I said to her and walked away. Albert was yet to return from where he traveled to, he's the only one I want to speak to right now. I brought out my phone from my pocket and placed a call across to him asking when he would be back.

　　After some time it was fine for lunch, mom was away so it was just both of us that will have lunch, Edna's family have been calling since we got back to the house and I was curious to know what was going on, do they really like her or there is more to it.

　　And Edna on the other hand has been lost in thought almost all through the day, each time I ask what she's thinking about she would say nothing but she's obviously thinking about something that's bothering her.

　　We both headed downstairs for lunch. When we got to the dinning, Lilian served us lunch, and as usual she would have to wait till we were done eating.

　　"Is there anything wrong at home?" I asked her, Edna raised her head to look at me without replying to the question I asked her. I was only curious because they kept calling her on the phone and it seemed like the calls were getting to her.

　　"I was grandma's favorite, the little moment we shared together was precious, they are all calling to know if I'm fine." After hearing what Edna said I had to believe that she must have been really good for them to love her guys so much.

　　"They really care about you." I said this to her with a smile on my face. Edna still didn't have a bright smile on her face. She looked unhappy even with the love that they were showering her with. I thought she was sad because of the loss of her grandma, but with the way she was behaving I thought it was more than that.

　　Her family call bothered her even more. I had to doubt the reply she gave me.

　　"You have to be easy on yourself Grandma is fine wherever she is right now." I said to her trying to make her feel better.

　　Edna raised her head to look at me and nodded her head in agreement with what I said. She finally had a huge grin on her face.

　　"I need to visit home as soon as possible, what do I need to do to be able to visit them?" Edna asked me.

　　I knew she had to visit them because at the end of the day that's her family and she just lost a family member.

　　"I would help you out and sort it out as soon as possible, that way I have to be there with you, but you won't spend time over there.

　　"I really don't mind, I just want to see my family." Edna said to me. I finally understood why she was feeling sad, she was missing her family which is why she was looking down and with the much love she was getting from the phone calls.

　　When we were finally done eating I stood up from the dining and rushed out of the house for a quick drink with a friend. I was skeptical about leaving her all alone in the house but I had no other choice but let her stay by herself in the house.

　　She was fully recovered after all.

　　While I was driving out of the house I felt uncomfortable but I thought I was only worrying myself for nothing, she would be fine no matter what. There is enough security in the house so nothing will happen to her.

　　I couldn't spend too much time with my friend because I was worried about my wife not feeling well. I rushed back to the house earlier than I should have.

　　When I got home, mom was seated In the sitting room, I looked around and noticed Edna was not In the sitting room.

　　"Welcome back son." My mother said to me and without replying to her I headed upstairs to go check on Edna. I was even scared that she might not be in the room.

　　I opened the door and Edna was not in the room. Fear gripped me and her sad words kept ringing in my head.

　　"Where could she be?" I asked myself and I was about to leave the room when she walked out of the toilet.

　　"When did you return?" She asked. I heaved a sigh of relief the moment I sighted her. Edna stared at me for a while, I guess she was shocked to see me panting so hard.

　　"Were you looking for me?" Edna asked me with a smile on her face. It was good to see her smile but I felt embarrassed and so vulnerable. It was beginning to show, my fear was becoming a reality.

　　I recollected everything my mother said to me and how she reminded me of promising myself never to fall in love with Edna again and here I am fighting myself from loving her.

　　"Did you hear what I said?" She asked and I snapped out of my thoughts immediately.

　　I excused myself fron the room without replying to her. "What is wrong with you Darrel?" I asked myself while I was walking downstairs, I can't help but worry about her, even when I tell myself not to, I end up doing it. It was more like something I couldn't fight anymore.

　　I thought of giving her distance but that would only make our relationship worse had something similar to what happened at the office with Kelvin might happen again.

　　I couldn't think of the right way to sort it all out. I checked the time and mom was still not back. She didn't tell me where she was headed and she's not back yet, I wonder what she's up to this time.

　　The moment I got to the sitting room I heard the doorbell ring.

　　The was opened and just as I thought it was mom, I was wondering what was taking her so long to come in fully.

　　I smiled when she walked in looking excited but my smile slowly faded when someone walked in after her.

　　"Edward? What the fvck is he doing here?" I stood up angrily and walked closer to him.
