CHAPTER 56

  Edna pov

After the game I was proud of Aloha Darrel for winning but I tried not to let it show, I would have chosen him as my player but after Amber picked him first I had no other choice but to pick Aaron so he wouldn't stand alone.

While standing with Aaron I found myself rooting for Alpha Darrel. I know he would be unhappy with me because I picked someone else over him but I wouldn't be mad at him if he's upset with me.

When we were done with the game we headed to the restaurant in front of the game place.

"I still can't believe we won." Amber said still vet excited about the win. I could tell Amber like Alpha Darrel very well. She never gets to connect with people very easily but it was very easy with Alpha Darrel. I watched both of them and the little banter, I couldn't help but smile as I watched them.

"We need to give our champion a better meal." Amber said. I know she was trying to campaign for herself using Alpha Darrel's won as bait.

"Just say you want something better." I said to her and she smiled, giving the caught look.

While we were eating I noticed Aaron was quiet all along. I knew he was a sore loser because he had told him that several times.

I picked some of the fish in my plate ahd added to his because that was his favorite.

"You are not eating." I said to him, I mistakenly glanced at Alpha Darrel and the look he gave me was a very scary one.

"Do you want some of my fish?" I asked him when I noticed how he was staring at me.

"No." He replied almost immediately. Amber sighted an Ice cream spot and couldn't stop staring at the place.

"Would you love to get one?" Alpha Darrel asked the same question I was about to ask her. She nodded her head and they both went out to get it.

It was just Aaron and I in the restaurant eating.

"I know you were rooting for him to win." Aaron said and raised his head to look at me.

"Is rhat why you made those mistakes?" I asked and he nodded his head. "Amber was also very excited to see him win, I gave up." Aaron seemed very different from how he was when he first arrived, and it was such a lovely sight.

"You changed a lot." I said to him because it was too obvious. He dropped his spoon and stared at my face.

"Is it too obvious?" He asked me. I nodded my head giving a positive reply.

"Maybe I should try and hide it a little." He said to me and we both laughed.

"Your dad announced a few days ago that I would be the next Alpha." I opened my eyes wider than normal when I heard what Aaron said.

"Your dad?" I asked because I know how they never get along.

"He's never going to accept me as his son again and I've accepted to live like that." He replied to me.

I wasn't happy hearing such a thing because I could tell from his facial expression that he wasn't happy with the situation but he was pretending to be.

"Did you try talking to him like we agreed on back then?" I asked.

"It was a disaster." Aaron replied almost immediately. I finally understood why he gave up on trying to be close to his dad. I still don't know why he's very upset with Aaron to the extent of never forgiving him.

"Is your mom saying anything about it?" I asked and he shook his head. Looks like she also gave up. The conversation was getting exhausting and the other two were still not back from where they went.

"I see you two are having a good relationship." Aaron said to me, referring to my marriage with Alpna Darrel.

"We're not perfect, but we're trying our best." I replied to him and picked my glass of juice. After taking a sip I dropped it back on the table.

"Are you talking about kids yet?" Aaron asked and I shook my head immediately.

"We just got married, we are still trying to figure out how to live as married couples, children will come later." I replied to him with a smile on my face. Aaron understood what I was talking about.

"I know you will do well." He said to me and I let out a huge grin, finally Alpha Darrel and Amber returned.

Amber looked really happy having Alpha Darrel with her. I know she's going to feel worse when we leave.

"I think we're all done, let's head back home." Alpha Darrel said and took care of the bills.

We all headed into the car.

"We got you this." Amber said to me and handed me a rose. I can't believe she got me a flower, no wonder they took so long when they went to get something.

"Thanks baby." I said to her with a smile on my face.

"You should be thanking him not me, I'm just the deliverer, he's the buyer." Amber said, referring to Alpha Darrell. I turned to look at him. I didn't know what to say to him.

"Thanks." I said to him and tried to stop fantasizing over the flower.

While we were heading home Amber was eating her ice cream while the rest of us quietly listened to the soft music playing in the car.

I brought my head out through the car window. I had so much on my mind that I wanted to let out but at the same time I didn't want to.

I heaved a sigh and rested my head.

After a while we finally arrived at the pack house and we got out of the car.

I walked into the house and we had some guests in the house.

"Where have you been?" Aunt Erica asked. I walked closer to the place they were seated and we all sat down even though Amber was more into her ice cream than visiting the guests around.

I tapped her a little so she would greet them. She turned to look at me and continued what she was doing.

"Leave her alone, she's so into her ice cream." The guest said to me with a smile on her face.

"Edna?" She asked. I nodded my head when she asked.

"You look so much like Cassie, I would have thought you were her if I didn't attend her funeral." I didn't know how to react to that information.

"She's not Cassie." Aunt Erica replied to her almost immediately. I was hoping nothing bad would be said because Alpha Darrel was with me.

"My sister must have loved you so much to give you everything she owned." I finally knew she was my grandma's sister. And most of the things she was saying to me made me know that she is not a fan of me, she was only saying those things to set me up and make everyone's attention on me.

"Grandma was very nice to me, she must have had other reasons for giving me everything she owned." I replied to my grandma's sister. She didn't look really pleased with what I said to her, maybe she was expecting me not to reply to her.

"What are you going to do now? Heard you are married to an Alpha, how will you be able to manage everything?" I didn't know why she was so interested in having such a conversation with me. I tried several times to skip answering the questions but she kept asking me again.

"This is my husband." She opened her eyes wider than normal when she heard what I said. I guess she didn't know my husband was seated with us.

"Good day ma'am." Alpha Darrel greeted her with a smile on his face.

"You two must have a very good relationship." She said to me. I was done having the conversation with her because she was not making sense.

"I'm sorry but I need to take care of something urgently," I said to her ahd excised myself. She kept looking at me until I was out of sight.

The moment I got into the room, I sat on the bed tiredly. She was really annoying, I'm happy I was able to control myself from saying something stupid to her. I stood up from the bed and was about to walk into the toilet when Alpha Darrel walked into the room.

I walked back to the bed and picked flowers.

"You don't have to push yourself too much." I said to Alpha Darrel and handed the flower back to him before walking into the toilet.
