CHAPTER 57

  Writer's POV

Alpha Darrel stood on the same spot for a while after Edna gave the flower back to him. He recollected how he saw the flower ahd thought of getting it for her, but sadly she thinks he is doing everything not because he wants to do it but because he has to do it.

Alpha Darrel sat on the bed tiredly and heaved a sigh, he stared at the flower and decided to put it in the wardrobe where Edna stuff were before he walked out of the room.

When he walked out of the room Edna heard the door shut and she sighed. She didn't know if Alpha Darrel bought the flower because he wanted to or he bought it because Amber was with him and he was trying to give the family a good impression.

Edna started feeling bad for the way she reacted. "Maybe I shouldn't have given him the flower." Edna muttered to herself and turned off the tap. She stood up and walked out of the toilet. She was in the toilet because that's the only place she can stay now and feel peaceful.

She sat on the bed and looked around the room, the flower was nowhere around so she thought he didn't care to try and convince her instead he walked away.

Edna laid on the bed though it was getting dark and they would soon come fetch her for dinner.

  *******

Alpha Darrel walked downstairs and sighted King Baron sitting on the couch and resting a paper. Their eyes suddenly met and Alpha Darrel looked away immediately.

"Come here." Alpha Baron called Alpha Darrel with a bright smile on his face. Darrel didn't know if going was a better option as if he could say no.

He walked closer to Alpha Baron and sat beside him.

"I think we've never had a conversation since you took my beloved daughter." Alpha Baron said to Alpha Darrel with a bright smile on his face and dropped what he was reading on the table beside him.

"Yes, we never had the time to have a conversation." Alpha Darrel said to him.

"How are you two getting along?" Darrel looked at King Baron when he asked the question.

"We are trying? We were not the best of friends before getting married, but we're trying our best." Alpha Darrel replied King Baron.

King Baron nodded his head feeling impressed in Alpha Darrel and what he said. There was a short silence between both of them as Alpha Baron was trying to sink in the next first conversation they had.

"You know I met Edna the most unexpected way. She looked like she was struggling that day and the Rogues were about to take advantage of her. I could see fear in her eyes when she was talking to me." Alpha Darrel was surprised to hear what King Baron said and he felt awkward hearing what the king was saying knowing fully well that he was the cause of all she went through.

"Did you not think she must have done something wrong? she was banished, there has to be a reason." Alpha Darrel said to King Baron. King Baron sighed when he heard the question Alpha Darrel asked him.

"She was innocent." Alpha Darrel was shocked to hear what king Baron said.

"Why are you so sure she was innocent?" Alpha Darrel asked curiously.

"I know a guilty person when I see one, at first I wanted to leave her there but after seeing the fear in her eyes and the will not to survive I decided to help her out." Alpha Darrel pressed his hand on the chair when he heard what King Baron said.

Alpha Darrel realized he didn't know everything just as he thought he did.

Seeing how Alpha Baron spoke so highly of her in their first meeting made Darrel feel like a loser for living with her and still not trusting her.

"I can see you think very highly of her." Darrel said to King Baron. There was a short silence between both of them.

"Is she giving you a hard time?" King Baron asked Alpha Darrel. Alpha Darrel was shocked to hear the question King Baron asked because he know clearly that he is the one that's giving her a hard time in the pack and not the other way round.

"No, she is very considerate and nice, I can not be more happy." Alpha Darrel said to King Baron.

King Baron was happy to hear what Alpha Darrel said. He thought Edna would have a hard time but seeing how happy she looked with Alpha Darrel made him know that he made the right decision by arranging the marriage between both of them.

It was time for dinner and the dinning was set, the whole family was in the house so the dinning is going to be filled with no empty chairs.

"Let's go over there." Alpha Baron said with a smile on her face.

They both walked to the dinning and others joined them.

  *******

Edna stood up from the bed after hearing a knock on the door, she yawned and walked into the bathroom to wash up before walking out of the room. While she was heading downstairs she saw how full the dinning was.

She took some steps back, it was kind of awkward to get because she always feels like she's not a part of the family whenever the family is gathered like this.

"Even grandma's sister?" Edna asked herself and placed her hand on her head tiredly, she still can't believe she is going to join them for dinner.

She walked into the room and changed into something more beautiful, though it was too good for a night wear but she was not ready to look bad in front of everyone seated there.

Edna walked out of the room and headed downstairs. When she got downstairs she sat on the chair and turned to look at Amber with a smile on her face.

"I fought to keep this chair for you, I can't believe she was struggling to make sure she sits here." Amber whispered to Edna while staring at Grandma's sister.

I don't know why but I didn't feel good about the woman's presence. It felt like she was trying to look for every means to press me, from asking me questions that didn't sound reasonable to trying to take my seat, I could tell from when she was talking to me that she was not happy with me, or maybe she just can't stand the sight of me.

"You came down late for dinner, are you okay?" My grandma sis asked me ahd everyone's attention was on me. She just likes to put me in such a position which is very annoying.

"I'm fine." I replied to her and continued eating my food.

"Oh my goodness, are we expecting a junior?" I opened my eyes wider than normal and turned to look at Alpha Darrell. She should pull the trigger at this point rather than saying too much like she's presently doing.

"I was only tired, do you have a problem with me? Because you keep asking me the weirdest questions." I asked her, sounding upset. Dad could already tell that I was upset when he heard my tone. He placed his hand on my hand trying to calm me down. He's known grandma sister for a while. Maybe she's always been so annoying.

Tomorrow is grandma's funeral. She won't be happy to see that me and her sister are not getting along very well.

I controlled my temper and closed my eyes so that I can forget about everything and just continue eating,

"You don't have to get so worked up, I was just like you too, but look at me, I have four kids." She said and everyone at the dining laughed. Maybe I didn't find it funny because we were not in good terms ahd I was still trying to forget what she just said.

We were done eating and everyone went back to their rooms.

"You didn't have to react like that, everyone knows Grandma Sofia to be very annoying, maybe you're just getting to know her that's why you reacted like that." My dad explained to me. I heaved a sigh and finally got that she doesn't dislike me, it's just the kind of person she is.

I decided to visit her room and apologize to her for raising my voice earlier.

I knocked a few times before she finally opened the door for me. She looked surprised to see me standing in front of her room.

"I came to apologize for the way I spoke to you earlier on the dinning, you were asking so many questions and I stupidly arrived at a wrong conclusion." I said to her calmly.

Grandma Sofia let out a soft smile and turned to loo at me.

"You don't have to apologize, I know that I can be very annoying sometimes so no offense taken." She replied to me and we both hugged it out.

"Oh wait, I will forgive you one one condition, after the funeral you are taking him out." She said to me and I nodded my head In agreement excitedly.

I headed back to the room and laid on the bed. "Why did I judge her wrongly l, she's so cute." I muttered before closing my eyes.
