Alpha Darrel pov
When I got out of the toilet, Edna was already asleep on the bed. I can't believe she fell asleep after creating a sin here a few minutes ago.
I helped cover her with the duvet, and walked closer to the closet so I could change my dress. After changing my dress I walked back to the bed and sat down. I was shocked to see missed calls from mom, I wonder why she's been calling.
I called her back to find out why she's been calling me.
"Mom." I said and adjusted myself very well on the bed.
"Why have you not been picking my call? Did you forget you have a family back home?" My mom asked, sounding angry. I heaved a sigh and turned to look at Edna, I knew where the questions were coming from. She must have thought I didn't want to pick her call intentionally.
"Mom, my phone was not with me, I didn't see your calls," I said to her trying to calm her down. I know that nothing I say would calm her down.
"You are always with your phone, what happened? Why were you not with your phone?" She asked me curiously, I know that she was trying to pin everything on Edna.
"Mom, you know I'm here to mourn someone, there's no way I would be with my phone every time." I replied to her trying to calm her down. She became quiet when I was done talking to her.
"You need to return early, you're spending time there already, don't forget I'm your only family they are not." I placed my hand on my head the moment I heard what mom said to me. I can't believe she is saying something like this. Mom always has her way of saying things that'll annoy me.
"Mom, you don't have to be so mean." I said to her on the phone, I had more to say but I was trying not to say too much that'll make her start blackmailing me emotionally.
"Mean? Did you just say I'm mean? Darrel, I am your mother." I have heard this particular line several times, and she keeps reminding me that She's my mother.
I have told her several times that I know she's my mother and there's nothing that can change that but she keeps saying the same thing over and over again.
"Mom, I know you're my mother, can you stop. Stop saying this, every time you keep saying the same thing." I said to her that I had placed my hand on my head tiredly.
"You seem to forget that every time, I'm tired of that conversation, when are you coming back?" Mom asked.
I heaved a sigh, I didn't want to tell her tomorrow because something might come up, so there's no particular date yet.
"I'm not sure yet." I replied to her, I knew that was going to piss her off but I had no other choice than to give her such a vague reply.
"What are you saying?" I removed the phone from my ear when I heard her tone. "Mom, tune it down, you almost hit me dead." I said to her, I knew she was already upset but I really can't give her a date yet.
"Ohh I'm being loud now? What has come over you Darrell, you seem to be forgetting I am your mother, I did everything to raise you into the young man you are right now." Just as I thought she has started trying to blackmail me with the whole she raised me topic. She keeps doing this every time, I wonder when she'll get tired.
"Stop it, why do you always trying to victimize our conversations?" I asked her had placed my hand on my head, I was trying not to let Edna wake up and hear our conversation.
"I never said anything bad and you're already crying, mom I will be back soon, I know the house is boring without us around that's why you are behaving like a child, just give us a few days to return." I said to her trying to calm her down.
"Stop using the ‘us'word, I asked not to care about you." I turned to look at Edna when I heard what she said. She really disliked Edna ahd that's not going to change anytime soon.
We said a few more words and finally ended the call. I dropped the phone and turned to look at Edna again, so much has changed in a few days, now I don't like hearing bad things about her, I'm ready to fight for her anywhere and any day, there were so many signs showing me already that I was in love with her but I didn't want to accept it.
I would rather remain in denial than to accept that I'm in love with her because I promised my mom that I will never fall in love with her again. Falling in love with her would mean I'm not fulfilling the promise I made to mom that day.

After a while Edna woke up, I had to close ju eyes pretending to be asleep. She stared at my face for a while before standing up from the bed. When she stood up I opened my eyes and heaved a sigh.
I wonder what she's up to now, I can't get up now because she will know I wasn't awake. She turned on the tap as usual,
While she was in the toilet I was worried, I wanted her to come out of the toilet so that I would know she's really okay, there's no way she heard what I was saying to my mom because she was asleep.

Writer's POV
Edna woke up In the middle of the call with Alpha Darrel and his mom, she heard what they were talking about and still pretended to be asleep. The thought of returning to the same house where she's not treated with love clouded her mind and she was bothered.
Edna sat on the toilet with the tap on, she needed a moment to herself where she could be alone and think clearly. The sound of water is what helps her keep her mind at ease.
She heaved a sigh and raised her head trying her heft not to let the tear drop. She covered her mouth with her hand trying not to let her voice be loud. The tears became unbearable, her chest was hurting because she was struggling not to cry.
She thought after leaving Alpha Baron house she would move into another family that would live with her and take good care of her just like her dad said, but getting here she met the same family that kicked her out of the pack.
"She can never accept me." Edna muttered and wiped her tears. The moment she wiped her tears she heard a knock on the door. She stood up immediately and washed her face then Alpha Darrel opened the door immediately. Edna turned to look at him the moment she opened the door.
"Sorry, I was knocking but you didn't open the door, I just wanted find be sure you're okay," Alpha Darrel said to her and gently closed the door. The moment he closed the door she heaved a sigh of relief ahd looked at her face In the mirror, she promised herself never to let Alpha Darrel meet her in such a vulnerable state that would make him pity her or feel sorry for her.
She walked out of the toilet and went to the closet area so she could change into something else and go down for lunch.
When she was done dressing she applied makeup on her face and walked out of the room. While she was walking downstairs there was so much on the dinning but no one was seated there. Edna realized everyone was either out of the house or still in their rooms, it got really hard today because it's her funeral.
I walked downstairs and called all the maids, everyone food was sent to their room because it's her funeral even if they were hungry it would feel wrong for them to be at the dining eating excitedly.
I took mine upstairs and suddenly turned back to take a full meal for both of us, a little kindness won't hurt.
While I was walking upstairs with the maid, I kept thinking it was a good idea, so I told her to take it up alone. I don't want him to think I care about him.
After some minutes I headed back to the room. The moment I got to the room I noticed Alpha Darrel was yet to start eating.
"Our food was brought to the room?" I added pretending not to know what's going on.
"Yes, the maid said you told her to bring it." I hit my lips angrily when I heard what Alpha Darrel said. I can't believe that girl sold her out just like that.
