Alpha Darrel pov

　　When I got back from work I joined them for dinner immediately because I was famished. I thought it was going up to fetch Edna but I didn't want to seem forward, we've not adjusted towards each other well enough to start bugging her to eat dinner.

　　I was about to send the maids when I saw her walking down the stairs. I'm sure she has been there for a while, then I remembered when she talked about joining the company. I don't know what mom would say which is why I was finding it hard to give a reply. But somehow I know I have to choose one.

　　When she finally joined us I could tell the energy was different from mum. She was not always bothered about Edna when we were eating but today She seemed more irritated. I had to think of a way to make the mood better so I decided to talk about what Edna did. But instead of shutting up she decided to ruin my plan by talking.

　　I didn't know how else to help her then I suddenly thought this might just be the right time to tell mom about the new change.

　　"Mr Charles stepped down today." My mom turned to look at me the moment she heard what I said. He's been working with us for a very long time until he was recently diagnosed with cancer so he had no other choice but to step down and take good care of his health.

　　"I was going to fire him if he didn't step down, his health should be more important to him." Mom said and continued eating her food.

　　"We need someone else that would take his position as the company manager." I said to mom. She let out a bright smile when she heard what I said, it seemed like she already had someone she wanted to give the position to.

　　"If that's the case I will get a perfect person for the position." My mother said to me excitedly and continued eating her food. I turned to look at Edna. The main reason why I convinced him to step down is because I want Edna to take that position and now I don't know how to say it to mom.

　　"Mom, you don't have to look for anyone, I have someone already." Everyone turned to look at me, including Lilian who was standing close to the dinning, though she could hear everything I was saying.

　　"Really? Why didn't you say so earlier, I would have loved to bring in this person but since you have friend already I don't mind giving up." My mother said to me with a smile on her face. I could tell she was happy to hear that but she will be posted When she finds out the new staff member is Edna.

　　"Thinking about it, is this person someone I know? Because I know most of your friends are CEOs so who is this particular person that I don't know about?" My mother asked curiously. I didn't know what to say to her.

　　Everyone was getting even late curious at this point, the only person that didn't care about who the new staff was was Edna. I looked at her several times and she really didn't care about who I chose to give it to.

　　"Yes mom you know who she is." My mom opened her eyes wider than normal when she heard what i said, she started trying to think of people she might know that i have interest in giving the company to.

　　"She's a lady?" I could tell my mom was already tired of the way I was beating around the bush, she just wanted to hear who it was and why I chose to employ the person.

　　"Can you say who it is? I'm getting sick of this stupid guessing game you're playing." My mother said to me, sounding frustrated already. I stared at her for a while and turned to look at Edna again. I know when she hears this she's going to freak out, but I'm still going to say it.

　　"Edna." I called her name and everyone turned to look at me including her. Edna was shocked to hear me call her name. I was confused at his point because how do I explain when they are all looking at me In the eyes like I have done something bad.

　　"Why would you call her when we are having an important conversation, I almost thought she is the new staff we are talking about." My mother said to me,

　　"She is the new staff. From tomorrow Edna will be joining the company as the new manager." I finally summoned the courage to tell the truth to my mother. She looked shocked and speechless at the same time when she heard what I said.

　　"You can't be serious right?" My mom asked me after hearing what I said.

　　"I mean every word I just said to you." I replied to her. She looked mad and pissed when she heard my last statement.

　　"Darrel!" My mom screamed my name angrily. Edna was not saying anything, she just kept mute looking at me.

　　We were done having dinner. Edna went back to her room while I sat at the dining table waiting to have a conversation with my mom. We were both quiet for a while, she couldn't stop looking at my face while shaking her legs angrily.

　　"Just say what it is you want to say, I can take it." I said to my mother when she was still not saying anything to me.

　　"What has come over you? Why would you tell such a lie I infront of her?" My mother said to me angrily. I stared at her face wondering why she thinks I'm telling a lie.

　　Mom, I told you I was very serious when I said that at the dinning.

　　"Stop! Can you stop, I'm no longer finding it funny." Luna Becky said to me angrily. From her voice I could tell she was very pissed. It's been a while since she spoke to me with such a tone. Today she's very angry.

　　"Why? What is it that you have against her that you cannot overlook? She's married to me now, she's my wife!" I said to her angrily at the top of my voice.

　　"You know very well that I don't like her, I have never and will never like her." My mother said angrily. I thought this was something we would be able to cross but now that I'm hearing what she's saying I can tell that it's not what I thought of it to be. She hates her more than I thought.

　　"Why? Why can't you like her? What has she done so wrong to you?" I asked mom angrily.

　　"This was not the agreement Darrel, you told me you will never love her and you're only with her because of her family status, have you forgotten?" Luna Becky asked me. I can't believe she brought the past here again.

　　"That was because I had the wrong idea of her, I misunderstood her." I said to my mom.

　　"So… you want to tell me that you are now in love with her and you can't live without her?" My mom asked me and laughed out loud. I found her laughter annoying, so much that I wanted her to stop because she was making me feel stupid.

　　"Mom, can you please stop all this, you are acting like a child now, you are mature enough to know when to let bygones be bygones." I said to my mom and walked out of the sitting room. I was done with the conversation since it was not getting any better.

　　The moment I stormed out of the sitting room I headed to the room and sat on the bed. I looked at Edna who was sitting on the bed, I could tell she was waiting for me.

　　"It's fine, you don't have to go against your mom just to give me the position, you know she has never liked her for a while so I understand well." Edna said to me the moment I sat on the bed.

　　"Like I said on the dining, you have to prepare for work tomorrow morning." I insisted had prepared to sleep.

　　"Are you sure?" Edna asked and I nodded my head. She stood up from the bed and immediately started trying on some of her clothes, she tried them on and finally concluded on what to wear, I was watching her while pretending to be asleep. She looked so cute when she's excited.

　　When she was done trying them on she finally concluded on what to wear. I could tell she was very excited about the job even though she wasn't saying anything about it.

　　I closed my eyes and finally fell asleep.
