Writer's pov
"I can't believe they did it and framed you for doing it, Lilian is unbelievable, there I was thinking of forgiving her for what she did to me, now I know she's not the type that deserves to be forgiven." Edna said and took a sip of the coffee.
"Heard she left the pack house." Edna nodded her head and suddenly chuckled. Petra was wondering what became funny to her.
"I'm laughing because she's back and now she's the right hand person to Luna Becky." Petra also looked shocked to hear what Edna said to her, she never imagine that combo would get this close.
"They are always up to no good so i don't think they're closeness would be a good thing." Petra concluded and picked her cup of coffee. There was a short silence between both of them.
"I was pleased to hear from him yesterday that you will be my boss from today." Petra said to Edna with a smile on her face.
"It's obvious you two have grown closer to each other now." Edna was shocked to hear what Petra said because it was the total opposite of their reality.
"Yes, we are a lot closer now." Edna replied to her with a smile on her face.
Petra concluded the conversation and walked out of the office so she could give Edna the stage to start working on some documents that needed urgent attention.
A lot seemed very new to Edna but she knew with time she would be able to learn how to do the job properly.
Her dad was able to teach her some things about how working feels like and learning from him made her feel she was learning from the best judging from his business achievements.
While she was busy, Alpha Darrel passed by and stopped to take a glance at her, her office was built with glass and sue couldn't be bothered to block people from seeing her
Earlier when he was going to his office he could hear whiskers about how beautiful the pack Luna looked and he couldn't help but feel proud of being her husband.
"She look so serious." Alpha Darrel muttered and walked away.
Edna was so busy with work that she couldn't be bothered by any other thing.
When it was time for lunch she was unable to leave her work because she was still struggling to get used to her job and she had no time to eat freely.
Alpha Darrel sighted her and ordered something she could eat. "It's lunch time, are you not going to get something?" Petra asked the busy woman, she raised her head to look at Petra and smiled. I will be unable to eat or wake when I complete this work.
Petra nodded her head because she understood very well the kind of person Edna can be. "You could have ordered something to eat that would have been better than starving." Edna was so busy working that she could barely listen to Petra.
"Why don't you try to listen to people sometimes." Alpha Darrel said to her and walked into the office with what he helped her order. When Edna sighted the food was when she realized she was really hungry. She didn't want to bother about food earlier because she thought she still had a lot of work to take care of.
"You have to take it easy, I know you have a lot of work to do, but still take care of your health." Alpha Darrrl said to her calmly before walking out of the office.
Petra placed her hand on her cheeks while watching both of them, she was their biggest fan at this point, she still couldn't believe they have gotten to this stage where they can freely talk to each other unlike before when they acted like ghosts in the same house.
"It's my first day, I need to prove to them that I didn't get here because I am your wife, I need them to know that if I wasn't your wife I would have still gotten such a position." Edna said to Alpha Darrel, already taking it a little personal. The cute sight Petra was seeing got successfully ruined by Edna.
"Edna, you are not in a competition with anyone, Alpha Darrel opened the office for her to see. Not everyone went out to eat, most of them were eating and working because they had a lot of work to do and they were too busy working to care about her.
He closed it back and Edna was left speechless. "Make sure you eat well." He said to her before leaving the office. The moment he stepped out Edna rolled her eyes and turned to look at what he got her.
Petra also excused herself when she noticed this might not be the good time to tease Edna.
Edna opened the food and realized he got her something she's been craving. She was just talking about it yesterday and here it is right in front of her.
She decided to listen once after all it won't hurt to listen to advice for once. She ate the food until she was full. When she was full she was half way done with her work, "maybe he was right after all, I can do it all here." Edna muttered to herself and smiled.
The moment she was done drinking the water she received a guest she wasn't expecting. She blinded her office by pressing the remote and turned to look at her.
"How nah I help you ma'am." Edna said to her, looking very serious.
"Ma'am? Really Edna. You have lost your sense of respect completely. I can't believe this." Luna Becky said angrily and brought out her phone from the bag.
She raised her head to look at Edna before picking the call, Edna focused on her work trying to to be shaken by her and her presence. Luna Becky was also surprised to see how Edna was focused on her work and trying to avoid her the best way she could.
She was done with the call and turned to look at Edna. "What makes you think you have the right to work here? You are just an adopted daughter of Alpha Baron, you will never be treated like a biological daughter would be.
I looked at her when I heard what she said. She just said my greatest fear of being adopted, no matter how much life I'm shown I always end up feeling like they are not my real family and they might not really love me.
"Does that bother you?" Edna asked Luna Becky, trying to look unfazed by her words because she knew Luna Becky was trying to get into her head with a certain story that would make her start thinking her family might not really love her like they claim to.
"You really are getting more annoying, can you listen to the way you reply to me, who do you think you are?" Luna Becky asked angrily. Edna glared at her which made Luna Becky a little scared and more angry.
"Do you know why I have been quiet the whole time you treated me like trash? Because before my mother died she begged me to always be by your side and not shift because she knows you to be very hot-tempered, but you can be really sweet and kind." Edna said to Luna Becky who seemed unmoved by her words.
"But guess what, I won't hold onto my mother's words anymore. The moment you say anything to hurt me again, I won't be quiet, if you say one, I'll give you ten replies," Edna said calmly though her chest was burning and she was trying to stop herself from doing anything that'll make her regret her actions later.
She said every word through her teeth angrily. "So now you are trying to paint your mother as a good person, that woman is nothing but a snake whom I took as a friend." Luna Becky said to Edna referring to Edna's mother. Edna tried so much to control herself from doing something stupid.
The office worker brought in a glass of coffee at Edna's request. The coffee was served to her and she dropped it on the table immediately. It looked like he still had more to say.
Edna has always wondered what made Luna Becky hate her and her mother so much. Each time she asks her mom, her mother will tell her that Luna Becky is a good person and that the only thing she needs to do is be quiet anytime Luna Becky is talking.
When she was younger she watched her mom get treated like trash by Luna Becky. She hated it so much, she told her mother several times to run away with her but her mother refused saying the pack house was their home, and she made a promise to her mother on her deathbed.
"You know what's funny? I only heard good things about you from my mom, I never heard her say anything bad about you, but you have never had anything good to say about her." Edna said to Luna Becky angrily. Luna Becky chuckled, she didn't want the topic to be too diverted to Edna's mother because she still has so much vim for her which she has passed down to Edna.
"Your mother was sly and evil, she pretends to be the good guy just to get people's attention." It felt like she was talking about another person, the worst anyone would call my mother had to be an attention seeker, she barely makes herself available because she was always busy.
"What if she was just really a good person." Edna replied, defending her mother, she was unhappy her mother wasn't here to defend herself in front of Luna Becky.
