Writer's pov

　　My relationship with Darrel was getting better by the day, they were getting more comfortable with each other which was very worrying to Luna Becky she thought her son was losing the plot because he was slowly catching feelings for Edna.

　　Edna was too uptight with her emotions, no matter how close their relationship has gotten she chose not to fall in love with him and she has been trying her best not to.

　　"Tomorrow is mom's birthday, she looks very excited." Darrel said to Edna as he was dressing up for work. Edna yawned and stretched her body very well because she was just waking up. And seeing Darrel all dressed up she knew she must have over slept. She has taken a threes days off work just to give Luna Becky the best birthdays celebration. She thought this might make them get closer. Edna was very interested I putting her best into the arrangement, so much that sha has to put all work aside and concentrate on the birthday plan.

　　"Do you think she's going to be happy to see my dad there?" Edna asked Darrel, he sat on the bed and turned to look at Edna.

　　"You are doing your best already,You don't have to break a bone just for her to like you." Darrel said to Edna. He was very aware of the kind of person his mother us, and he knew that no matter what Edna does his mom may end up discarding everything and make her feel like what she did was not good enough.

　　"I know, but I think Inviting my dad would be a good idea." Edna insisted and decided to place a call to her dad. Darrel watched her as she was speaking to him on the phone trying to convince him to attend Luna Becky's birthday.

　　"I hope it works out of her this time." Darrrl muttered. He was all dressed up and ready to leave for work, but Edna was still busy talking to her dad on the phone.

　　"Yessss! He agreed to attend because he wants to see my face." Edna said excitedly. She was more excited because she thought it'll make Luna Becky happy to see her dad there.

　　"You look so happy." Darrel said to her and shook his head before walking out of the room, he decided to leave her alone and stop ruining her mood with the story of how his mother will never appreciate anything she does. Edna already had a list of the guests name written in a white paper. That was her way of keeping all of them intact so that they would know where everyone is to seat.

　　Darrel walked out of the room when he realized Edna was too busy with his mother birthday celebration that she didn't bother to say goodbye to him.

　　He understood her perfectly, that's why he didn't bother to disturb her.

　　"You are leaving already?" Luna Becky said to Darrel giving a sad face. She thought Darrel would take the day off since it's her birthday tomorrow just like Edna did.

　　"Mom, you know I can't afford to take a day off right now, the company is facing a lot of difficulties and your birthday budget was gotten out of the company funds which needs to be replaced." Darrel explained to his mother. She already knew he would have an excuse to give each time he offends her and his excuse was a strong one because he even had to remind her of how the money was removed from the company.

　　"Fine, you can go, I'm not going to stop you," Luna Becky said to him with a smile on her face. She didn't want to make him feel like he was a bad son because she know how much of an overthinker her son can be.

　　"What should I get you for your birthday?" Darrel asked, his mom smile became wider, she was happy her son was asking her about what she needs.

　　"Isn't that supposed to be a surprise?" Luna Becky asked him. He shook his head trying to tell her he had no surprise planned so she better make what she would love as her birthday gift.

　　"Surprises should be for babies." Luna Becky laughed out excitedly, she was very happy to enjoy this moment with her son because he is always too busy to spend time with her and most times, he would forget to wish her on her birthday just because he was away for a long time. Even down till last year he forgot to with her a happy birthday which is why he promised he'd a party this year.

　　"Edna is trying het best to your birthday party the best don't be too hard on her." Luna Becky smile slowly faded the moment she heard Edna's name. She couldn't believe her son had to ruin her mood just like that by mentioning Edna's name.

　　She let out a little laughter so that her son will believe that she already heard what he said to her.

　　"Okay son, I promise I will be easy on her for the raft of the day, at least till the end of my birthday." Luna Becky said to him, though she was not happy she didn't want to ruin the good mood in the sitting room. She knew Darrel would not be happy to hear that she treated Edna badly so she started thinking of the best way to get back at Edna she watched him drive away.

　　Lilian was watching them from afar and she couldn't help but admire the kind of bond the mother and son shared. "She really admirers her son." Lilian muttered with her hands on her cheek as she was watching them.

　　She snapped out the moment Luna Becky turned to look at her.

　　"I was only admiring you two, Darrel love you a lot," Lilian said. Luna Becky was pleased to hear what Lilian said to her because those are this kind of things she loves to hear.

　　"That what's happens when you raise a boy into a man." Luna Becky said with too much pride and walked away. Lilian gave a disgusted look as she walked away. She knew what Luna Becky would love to hear that's why she said that to her.

　　"Lilian." Luna Becky called out as she was walking away. Lilian stopped what she was going and ran after her.

　　Edna was still in the room running around and trying to reach out to everyone on the list, they were all given invites to the birthday and she had to check up on them to be sure they haven't forgotten about it.

　　It was supposed to be a stressful job but Edna found joy in it and they were all very kind to her.

　　When she was done sat tiredly on the bed and walked out of the room. As she walked out of the room she headed downstairs trying to look for Luna Becky then she met Mrs Alice again. They were yet to talk to each other. Each time they had the opportunity to talk Edna always end up avoiding it, she was still yet to forgive her for what she made her go through.

　　"Are you looking for someone?" Mrs Alice asked Edna, Edna was about to walk away when Mrs Alice crossed her and stood in front of her.

　　"I know you are still upset with me for making it hard on you here, but try and listen to me, every action has a reason.

　　"You and I have nothing to talk about Alice." Edna said to her and was about to walk away.

　　"Stop stressing to please her, she's never going to change her perspective of you, no after what you do to please her she's still not going to like you," Alica said to Edna. Edna's eyes slowly turned red when she heard what Alica said to her. She was wondering why they were all saying similar things, when they can see she is trying her best.

　　"Don't you dare think you can tell me such a thing." Edna said to Alicia and walked away.

　　She continued looking for Luna Becky but she was clearly nowhere around the sitting room.

　　"Where could she be?" Edna asked herself and decided to head back to the room.

　　While she was on her way to the room she heard Luna Becky's voice and immediately ran back downstairs. When she got downstairs she was not sure of what to say to her all of a sudden.

　　Luna Becky stared at her angrily waiting to hear what she had to say for stopping her while she was heading to the kitchen. Edna was even more confused when she saw Lilian beside Luna Becky.

　　"If you have nothing to say please get out of my front." Luna Becky said Edna angrily. And without Jesus trying Edna shifted from her front without saying anything to her. "So stupid." Luna Becky said angrily as she was walking away. Edna felt stupid for doing What she did that now.

　　"I shouldn't have stopped her if I had nothing to say." Edna muttered to herself and headed back to her room with a disappointed look on her face as she was walking upstairs.

　　She knew she only made Luna Becky dislike her the more by doing what she did just now.

　　"Can you just stop being stupid." Edna muttered to herself again while walking upstairs.

　　When she got to the room she closed the door and sat down tiredly on the bed.
