Alpha Darrel pov
After meeting with Edna in the hospital and seeing how much she was acting for the strangers she just met I realized she was not faking being too kind, she just can't help it, she just running around the hospital while I waited for her and helped the little way I can.
While we were sitting in the reception waiting for the little girl to be out of danger again we sighted the doctor, I needed to hear what the issue was, the doctor refused to speak with the ladies because it was obvious they wouldn't understand because of their emotional level.
I went into the doctor office and requested an audience.
"I'm sorry I can't tell you anything, you are not a direct guardian to the little girl." The doctor said. I tried to make him understand but he was adamant about not saying anything which made Me remove the nose mask and show my real face.
The doctor cleared his throat the moment he saw My face.
"I'm sorry Alpha." He apologized and bright out the medical file from all the test that was conducted.
"She has cancer." I closed my eyes the moment he heard what the doctor said.
"What do you mean?" I asked finding it hard to believe the doctor because she's just a little girl, how in gods name did she get diagnosed with cancer.
"It's a hereditary type of cancer that was passed down to her either from her grandparents if both parents are still alive." Why dies she need to suffer such an illness at such young age.
"I can't believe this." I said to the doctor still looking at the test report. The doctor looked disappointed too but there is nothing he can do to be of help. It's not something that the little girl could recover from even though he tries his best to do everything in his power.
"Don't you think you need to say something to her mother?" I asked the doctor because I heard them talking about heading home once she's better and now I'm hearing a different story from the doctor.
"She will find out sooner." The doctor said feeling disappointed as well.
I placed my hand on my head and I recollected everything Edna said to me earlier and I couldn't help but feel pity for the little girl's mother.
"Is there anything you can do to spare her life?" I asked the doctor and without wasting time he shook his head, he told made me know that there is nothing he can do to save the little girl's life.
"She has less than a day left, Hope she wakes up sooner so they could say their last words to each other." I couldn't stand up from where I was sitting, the thought of having to lose such a young sweet little child to such a terrible illness made me feel sick, I can't believe her mother will be left with just her brother.
After spending time in the doctor's office I finally walked out and sighted Edna heading towards the ward, she looked exhausted, I wish I could tell her what the doctor must told me but I don't trust she will be about to handle the news well.
I sat down at the reception and after a little while she joined me.
"She's finally awake." I was happy to hear that the little girl Is awake.
"Why don't you look happy to hear that she's awake?" Edna asked I looked at her face and placed my hand in hers. "You need to brace yourself for whatever comes next, act like you just knew then yesterday." Said to her with a smile on my face as I was rubbing her hand lovingly.
"What are you trying to say? You are scaring me, did you meet with the doctor like you promised?" Edna asked curiously after hearing everything I said to her, I didn't know if lying to her would change anything.
"Talk to me Darrel," she said to me already panicking.
"She has cancer, and there's very little time left for her,"
It felt like the same thing was happening all over again, or she wasn't meant to meet with people with kids. Edna stood up from the place she was sitting and headed to the ward where the little girl was laughing with her mom.
She could see the singer in her again, and how lovely that little girl was, it felt like she always needed the good ones when they are in a bad situation.
Cassandra saw her watching them from outside the ward and smiled.
"Come inside Edna she's finally awake." Cassandra said Edna excitedly. Edna was trying with everything images of her to keep her cool and not act like she knew what was going on.
Edna walked inside gently and sighted the little girl smiling very bright, she was trying to to cry because it'll become obvious to Cassandra the moment she drops a tear.
"You look like you're about to tear, is it because she's awake now?" Cassandra asked and Edna nodded her head immediately lying that it's because the girl had already woken up.
"I'm happy too and Damon is as well." While they were all talking the little girl started noticing there was something wrong with her, she tapped her mom and tears welled down her eyes.
"What is it my angel?" Cass asked her with a smile on her face.
"I feel really tired." Edna covered her mouth with her hand while trying to hold in the tears that was forcing itself out.
"It's because you've been sleeping for too long." Cass said to the little girl with a smile on her face. She turned to look at Edna and noticed the look on Edna's face was different, she was wondering why Edna was more emotional all of a sudden.
"Cass, it's not because she's been sleeping," Cassandra turned to look at Edna windsurf what she was blabbing about, "what else would it be, she's okay now, it's not like she's still feeling sick." It was getting harder for Edna to explain to Cass because she did not understand what she was saying.
I stood outside the ward watching what was going on, it's my first time watching a person die in such state especially when the Mersin is still as young as the little girl.
"Do you want me to get you something?" Cass asked. The girl shook her head and kept saying of being tired. Cass was wondering why she was talking of the tiredness too much.
"Cass she had cancer and it only a few minutes left for you to spend with her," Cassandra looked at Edna and shook her head "stop saying what you don't know, I will take anything but what I won't take is you trying to insinuate my daughter would die." Cass said angrily and pointed fingers at Edna. I was angry with the way she reacted because based on Edna's status as Luna she is supposed to be punished for pointing fingers at her but because she knows nothing about Edna's identity I would spare her
"Cass, I'm telling the truth, that's why the doctor refused to tell us anything," Edna concluded. While they were still talking the little girl's heartbeat stopped and it was no news that she had already died.
