“Jenna Rosa Lakewood, do you like Nathan?” I asked and burst into laughter. Color rose up to Jenna’s cheek and she looked embarrassed.
Oh my God! I’ve never seen Jenna getting embarrassed because of a guy.
I burst into laughter again.
“Stop, don’t let him hear you,” she said, shushing me and pointing towards the door.
I nodded and pressed my lips into a tight line as I tried to keep myself from laughing.
“So, do you think his mate is suddenly going to show up?” She asked seriously.
“It’s possible that she he can find her today, but it’s also possible he won’t find her in the next 20 years,” I replied and she nodded like she was thinking about the two possibilities I mentioned.
I chuckled and stood up from her bed.
“I’ll come back, but I have to do something right now,” I said with a smile and she nodded.
“Okay, I thought you were going to ask me where I was going, but I’ll say it anyway,” I said with a mischievous smile, “I’m going to the opposite room to speak to your crush,” I continued with a teasing smile and Jenna quickly picked up a pillow, throwing it in my direction. I moved out of the way and caught the pillow, throwing it back to the bed and running out with a teasing smile.
I closed the door and sighed. I was so happy that Jenna was here.
I knocked on Nathan door and the door soon opened. As soon as Nathan saw me, he sighed and frowned.
“Can I come in?” I asked, ignoring his expression and he reluctantly opened the door wider for me to come in.
“You’re not supposed to be moving around and you know that,” he said and closed the door.
“I know, but I wanted to ask you something?” I said and sat on the chair by his reading table..
He walked to his bed and sat on it gesturing to me with his hands, “ask away.”
“Okay.” I cleared my throat and adjusted my sitting position.
“Who’s Lena?” I asked. Immediately I asked, Nathan’ expression changed to a displeased one.
His reaction made me even more curious. Who was Lena? His sister? His girlfriend?
“Nathan.” I called him and he cleared his throat, sitting up straight.
“Where did you hear the name?” He asked and I sighed. Would he just answer me already?
“I didn’t hear anything, I saw a picture with her name in Xavier’s room,” I answered and be nodded.
“So just tell me who Lena is already.” I glared at him.
“Have you asked Xavier?” He asked again and I threw my head back in frustration.
“No. God. No. Just answer the question.” I said, throwing my hands in the air. Nathan remained silent for a while and then his lips began to quiver, my eyes staring at them and waiting for words to leave them.
“Lena is Xavier’s mate.” He replied to my surprise and I froze in place. What was happening? What did he mean by Lena is Xavier’s mate. I thought I was Xavier’s mate.
“But she’s dead,” he said quickly and I blinked, snapping out of the shocked state I was in.
“Wait, so. Xavier had a Mate before?” I asked and he nodded in affirmation.
“What happened to her?”
“She was killed in a fight with a Vampire Coven,” Nathan replied and I felt touched. I couldn’t help but imagine what Xavier would have felt when that happened. He must have be despaired and broken.
“That happened a long time ago and she was buried in the forest,” he said, “look, Valerie, Valerie has been through a lot-“ Nathan started.
“His parents were killed by vampires at a young age and he suffered a lot before the former Alpha of our former pack,” Nathan explained and I felt sorry for Xavier.
That explained his keen hatred for Vampires. Before all these even happened, I always heard rumors of him and how he treated Vampires with brute force.
Something else caught my attention in Nathan’ words and I asked.
“Former pack?”
“Yes, the Blue Moon Pack, we were both members of the pack and I had been friends with him since then,” Nathan explained, “when he left to create his own pack, I followed him.”
I nodded. The two of them seemed really really close and Nathan seemed to be the only one Xavier talked to normally. Nathan and that other bitch he calls a friend, Gina. I was curious to know if Gina had also known Xavier since then, but I didn’t want to ask about.
The thought of her name angered me, especially with what she did.
I stood up from the chair where I sat and nodded at Nathan before walking to the door.
I walked out of the room and headed back to my room, with the thought of Lena on my mind.
What would happen to me if I lost my soul mate. It must be really hard for Xavier especially since her grave was just around the corner.
I suddenly stopped walking as an image flashed through my mind. I remembered the day I had gone to pluck fruits and I had spotted a grave from the corner of my eyes. I had been too hungry and weak that day so I couldn’t pay attention to it.
I zoomed towards the exit of the mansion and went out, stopping outside the mansion as I closed the door.
No one probably saw me or else they might want to think I’m trying to escape.
I zoomed towards the forest and looked around, trying to recognize the trees I had olicked fruits from the other day.
I zoomed around again, and I finally spotted the berry tree. I looked by the corner and spotted the grave there.
Got it.
I bent down by the grave and looked at the name engraved on the head stone.
“Lena Dunham.”
I cleared away the dried leaves fallen on the grave and took away the dried roses. I looked around and spotted a flower tree.
Wasn’t a rose, but it would do. I zoomed towards it and in a blink I has olicked a flower and I returned to the grave.
I began to hear the howling of wolves and I stood up. I needed to get back quickly right now, before those wolves sensed me.
I turned around to leave, but suddenly stopped walking as I spotted something from the corner of my eye.
I turned around again and stared at the grave. I bent down and looked at some marks by the grave. They were claw marks and that was not all. The the cemented top of the grave shifted a little.
What happened here? I thought, but my mind shifted to the wolves. I could also not ponder on it enough as I sensed someone watching me.
I smiled as I picked up the scent of who it was.
Gina.
I don’t know why she’s watching me, but she’s not going to get rid of me that easily.
