Chapter 21

It was evening already and we have moved onto other training activities. I grabbed my water bottle and went to sit on a long wooden chair.

Everyone had left and it was only me and Nathan in the training room. I opened the water bottle and gulped down water as I was very thirsty. By the time, I took the bottle away from my face and stood up, I looked up to see Nathan taking off his vest.

He took off the vest and hung it on the door, leaving his torso naked.

I swallowed as I stared at his abs and muscles. F*ck he was hot!

Nathan looked at me and saw me staring at his torso and he smiled cockily.

I blinked and gave a dismissive nod, looking away and acting like I didn’t care.

Before I knew it, Nathan was standing in front of me and I found myself staring at his abs again and wanting to touch it.

“What happened? Don’t tell me you’re shying away now?” Nathan asked and I scoffed, looking up at his face.

“Oh, I’ve seen EVERYTHING I’ve needed to see,” I said, rolling my eyes and he smirked.

“Have you.” He began to move closer to me and I moved backward slowly. He continued moving closer till I was backing the wall and his breath was lingering on my face. I tried to move away, but he placed his hands on the wall, blocking me at both sides.

He no looked like he was teasing me and his expression was blank. His eyes flickered to my lips and he swallowed. Before I knew it, he leaned towards me and his lips crushed against mine.

It took me by surprise and I remained Frozen for a while before kissing him back.

All of a sudden, Nathan pulled back and he shoved his fingers into his hairs, ruffling it.

“Nathan, are you okay?” I asked and grabbed his hand. He suddenly pushed my hand away and shouted, “Leave!”

  What the heck!

“Nathan-“ I started, but he interrupted me and shouted again, “Leave!”

I was filled with anger immediately and I picked my water bottle, walking out of the training room.

What the hell happened to him? He kissed me first and in less than one minute, he’s behaving like he always hated me.

Why was I feeling so worked up and sad over a guy? I hated this feeling and I just need to make this feeling disappear. I was walking to my room and I suddenly stopped at a junction forking into three corridors.

I changed my mind and decided to go to the kitchen so I could find something strong to drink.

As I walked into the kitchen, everyone faced me and I quickly hid the sad look on my face, replacing it with my usual fabulous smile.

“Hi.” I waved at a group of four men talking by the fridge and they smiled at me, moving out of the way as I nodded at the fridge.

I opened the fridge and spotted some bottles of alcohol in it. I grabbed it and walked out of the kitchen with it.

As I passed by the training room, I took a second to glance inside and Nathan was no longer in there.

I decided to stay there and drink and then return to my room later.

One hour later, tears was rolling down my face as I thought about what Nathan did. The entire bottle of alcohol was almost empty and the alcohol was super strong..

Something that only tough men could drink.

“Why?” I slurred and gulped down the last of the alcohol. I dropped the bottle on the floor and stood up from the chair I sat.

I was dizzy and I could barely walk properly. I managed to walk to the door and I leaned on the door post..

  It was getting dark already.

I stood upright and walked out, staggering down the corridor. I got to the same junction as before and I looked at the three junctions.

My vision was blurry and I couldn’t properly make out which path I shook take to go to my room.

“There,” My voice slurred as I pointed in the left direction and I walked there.

I continued walking for a while and I briefly stopped to lean on the wall.

I looked down at the corridor by my left as I heard someone knock on a door.

I rested completely on the wall and saw a man covered completely in a dark cloak. He looked so suspicious.

The door he was knocking on soon opened and a lady stepped out of the room.

The man reached into his pocket and brought out a small vial filled with a yellow liquid.

“This one is far stronger than the former ans whoever takes it will die immediately,” the man whispered and I squinted my eyes..

  What?

The lady quickly collected the vial from him and gave him something I couldn’t see quickly. I wanted to walk forward and confront them, but I was unable to and the lady walked into her room, the man zooming away.

Who’s that lady? I thought and I moved away from the wall I was leaning on. I was suddenly hit by a wave of dizziness and I lost my balance.

Before I could fall, an hand carried me and I went unconscious.

  Nathan.

I watched the gammas and the deltas walk out of the Pack’s hall as soon as Xavier dismissed everyone. He was really frank with everyone.

No one was to touch Lena or be rude to her and it was a order.

Most of them looked willing to comply and they were mostly ones who had found their mates. I could make out those who weren’t willing and I made a mental note to keep an eye of them.

If one tried anything, I would make sure I deal with rjm before Xavier even hears of it.

Xavier sighed as the last of them walked out and I stood up from the chair where I sat.

“Do you think any of them still has murderous intentions towards Valerie?” He asked and I glanced at the door briefly.

“I don’t know, but you were able to pass your message,” I replied and followed Xavier as he walked out of the hall. He looked tired.
