Xavier.
“It was Gina! Gina poisoned me!” I stood up immediately Valerie said those words and paced up and down the room.
“No!” I suddenly yelled at Valerie and she scoffed with a bewildered expression.
“It’s not possible, Gina wouldn’t try what you’re accusing her of,” I said, shaking my right index finger. I was sure of what I was saying.
Gina and I had come a long way. It was impossible for her to poison someone she knew was important to me.
Gina couldn’t possibly poison my mate.
“But she did it. That tea was the only thing I took that day!” Valerie yelled back at me and also climbed down from the bed.
“She did it to get rid of me!”
My breathing tensed and I shoved my fingers into my hair.
“No!” I hollered, “maybe you’re the one who wants to get rid of her because you hate that she doesn’t like you!” I yelled and nodded.
I meant every word I said and hearing her keep on accusing Gina made me enraged.
“Oh. She doesn’t move me!” She hollered,”and maybe you’re the one blind to see what’s really happening,” she continued and I faced her.
What?
“You’re the one blind to see that she likes you and I’m just a threat to her!” She hollered and I chuckled. Okay?
“Oh. I get it now,” I said and chuckled again.
“You do?” She asked and I burst into laughter.
“You’re making all this accusations because of sheer jealously,” I said and Valerie scoffed, chuckling.
“Pftt. Jealous?”
“Why the hell do you think I’m going to be jealous of another girl?” She retorted, “I was living my life just fine before and I never asked to be brought here!” She yelled.
“Whoever poisoned you is still out there and we haven’t found the culprit yet,” I said and grabbed my jacket hung on my reading chair before walking out of the room.
I sighed as I walked out of the room. She was making my heas boil with all these accusations.
Gina might not like her, but she would never do anything to betray me.
I sighed again and put on my jacket as I headed towards the training room to train.
As I walked in, everyone stopped what they were doing and I gave them a nod for rhke to continue with whatever they were doing.
I spotted Nathan at a corner of the room and walked towards them. He was allowing Jenna to punch his hands and she was groaning every time she punched him.
“Hi,” she said as I reached them and I replied with a smile, “Morning.”
I glanced at Nathan and nodded towards the door.
“I’ll be right back,” he said to Jenna and sbe nodded, going to sit on a bench to catch ber breath.
I walked out of the room and Nathan followed behind.
“You don’t look happy, what is it this time?” Nathan asked and I touched my face. .
Really? I didn’t realize I had been giving off an unhappy vibe.
“It’s Valerie,” I said and Nathan frowned.
I knew he would do that. It was silly that the both of us are fighting when things were just getting better between us.
“What happened?” He asked with a demanding expression and I rolled my eyes.
“We fought okay.” I said, throwing my hands in the air.
“But she started,” I defended my self and then got it with a wave of embarrassment. I sounded like a newly married guy going to his Therapist to get issues resolved.
“How!” Nathan asked, also throwing his hands in the air dramatically.
“She started with something that caught my attention and I thought she was going to say something reasonable, but instead she acted like a jealous girlfriend!” I hollered and immediately pressed my lips into a tight line as I realized someone or many could pick up my words with their enhanced hearing.
Nathan looked even more confused bans he scrunched up his nose.
“She accused Gina of posoining her. She accused Gina of all people for posoining her,” I said in a low tone this time.
Nathan looked dumbfounded as I said that and his eyes were wide open.
“I know right. How would Gina do something like that?” I asked and scoffed.
Nathan finally blinked and remained silent for a while.
“She wouldn’t just make such a strong accusation for no reason despite knowing the relationship you have with Gina,” Nathan said and I stopped walking.
Really! He was going to take Valerie’s side on this?
“I gave you a reason. It’s because she’s jealous.” I retorted, “I mean she literally said that Gina has feelings for me.” I chuckled and scoffed.
“Now, does she?” Nathan asked and I raised my eyebrows. Of course not! We’ve been friends for a long time.
“Have you asked Gina about this?” Nathan said and once again, I scoffed.
“No. I haven’t and I won’t because she didn’t do it,” I retorted and rolled my eyes, “bringing the issue to her would only give her more reason to hate Valerie.”
Nathan was about to talk when his phone rang. He closed his mouth and reached into his pocket, looking at the screen.
“It’s Senator Griffin,” he said and I gave an affirmative nod for him to pick the call.
He picked the call and put the phone on speaker.
“Good Morning Nathan,” Senator Griffin’s voice echoed from the phone.
“Good Morning,” Nathan replied.
“Let Xavier know that there’s a meeting in the inner circle taking place and he should get here in the next one hour.”
I sighed and threw my head back. What was it this time. I tapped Nathan and shook my finger, mouthing to him “I’m not available.”
“He’s not available at the moment, something came up at the pack,” Nathan said and Senator Griffin remained silent for a while.
“That’s why he has a Beta. Tell him to get here in one hour,” Senator Griffin ordered and cut the call. I sighed and muttered a curse beneath my breath.
The position as the Alpha King of Washington was already getting tiring and not as exciting as it seemed.
“You have to go,” Nathan said and I nodded before continuing walking down the corridor.
“Valerie is in my room, I’ll use your bathroom and borrow your clothes,” I nodded and Nathan nodded before walking back in the direction of the training room. I looked over my shoulder to see him jog back to the training room probably to go continue training Jenna.
What’s with those two.
