Jenna.
I sighed and sat on a bench in the training room as soon I felt I had worn mysekf out. Today was boring as Nathan was not available to train me.
Something about some Vampire investigation.
After doing everything I had learnt over and over, I was tired. I felt thirsty and looked at the water bottle by my side. It was empty.
I stood up and picked up the water bottle so I could dump this one in the trash and get water.
As I walked to the kitchen, I stopped as I saw a lady call a maid and hand over a tray of food to the maid, giving the maid some instructions.
I raised my hand to my head as a memory flashed through my head. The memories of the night I got drunk and had forgotten.
My eyes widened as I remembered seeing tjr the lady collect a poison vial from a strange man.
I watched as the maid carried the food to Xavier’s room and knock on the door. The for opened and Valerie answered the door, collecting the food from the maid.
“Wait.” I shouted before Valerie could close the door and she looked sideways surprise to see me.
“That food is poisoned!” I shouted at the top of my voice and Valerie’s eyes darted to the food in her hand.
As I said that, Nathan’ door opened and he stepped out, Valerie also stepped out of the room completely and Xavier followed.
“Jenna?” Valerie asked and I nodded.
“Yes. That food is posoined.” I said again and everyone faced the maid who brought the food.
She immediately began to shiver and her lips quivered.
“I….I… don’t.” She stammered, shivering and looking down.
“She’s not the one. Someone else gave her the food just now.” I said and walked to the room of the lady I saw just now. I knocked on the door and the door opened, the lady looking out.
“Gina?” Valerie said and scoffed.
She stepped out of her room and looked at all of us gathered with a look of curiosity on her face.
“I just saw her give the maid the food and askk her to bring it to Valerie,” I said, pointing my right index at Gina and I saw fear flicker in her eyes.
“Gina, is this true?” Xavier asked and Gina nodded.
“Yes, it’s true, but I asked the food to be brought for you, not Valerie.” Gina said and suddenly faced me with a fake look surprise.
“What’s she even making a fuss about?” She asked and I scoffed.
“Pftt. Don’t play dumb. Two days ago, I saw you buying poison from a man and he was telling you it was stronger than the last one,” I accused and Gina looked shocked for a while before quickly replacing it with a nervous smile.
“Jenna, did Valerie put you up to this?” Xavier asked and I faced him.
What the hell? Did he think I was lying and wait, does that mean Valerie had also accused Gina?
“Xavier-“ Nathan started, but Xavier stopped him by raising his hand.
“Wow. I can’t believe I’ve been accused of posoining someone,” Gina scoffed and faked a hurt expression.
That bitch. I felt so tempted to punch her in the face, but she looked like she could best me without batting an eye and Xavier too wouldn’t take it well.
“Okay. How about you take just a little bit of the food,” I said and walked towards Valerie, collecting the tray and opening the food.
I stretched it towards Gina and rolled my eyes at her, “Just one little bit. If I’m wrong, I’ll apologize and leave here immediately.” I continued and Gina looked frozen.
She looked at Xavier’s face and I glanced at him.
“Yes, Let them know you didn’t do it,” Xavier urged her to do it and l glanced back at Gina with a wicked smirk.
“Just one tiny little bit,” I pouted and stretched the tray closer to her.
She slowly raised her hands and curled her hand around the fork on the tray.
Wait. What was she doing.
I suddenly became afraid. What of she really didn’t poison the food and my accusationwas pointless. Xavier would only have more reason to think Valerie made me do this.
But I did see her buying poison the other day.
She slowly stretched the fork towards the surface of the spaghetti and my heart began to race as I thought she was going to really take the food.
I gasped as Gina suddenly knocked the door out of my hand and held the fork to my neck.
“Jenna.” Valerie and Nathan echoed together.
“She’s right. I poisoned the food,” Gina said, breathing heavily and my heart paced as the fork touched my neck.
“I poisoned the food because I wanted her dead and out of your life Xavier,” She continued and slowly moved backward..
“Gina, what are you doing?” Xavier asked and stretched out his right hand, taking little steps forward.
“If you come any closer, I’ll stab her to death!” Gina yelled and Xavier immediately stopped walking.
She began to walk backward slowly dragging me along with her. Xavier and Nathan also took little steps forward as she walked backward.
“I swear, if any of you come too close, I’ll drop her dead!” Gina threatened and continued walking backward.
We were soon close to the entrance and she used her other hand to reach inside her pocket for a key. A car key.
Xavier and Nathan kept following us and Valerie followed them behind.
“You don’t seem to care about her life, cause I’ll kill her!” Gina shouted and pressed the fork against my neck, the tines biting my skin.
“And then what happens after you lose your leverage?” Xavier asked.
As Gina walked out of the door, she turned around to find her footing down the stairs and seeing my chance, I suddenly raised my right leg and kicked her in the lower abdomen.
She groaned and I used my left elbow to hit her in the face before she could recover from the first attack.
Suddenly, Nathan zoomed forward, and Gina lunged for my neck with the fork in her hands. As the fork hit my skin, Nathan grabbed Gina’s hand and lifted her up, smashing her against the wall.
She groaned and kicked Nathan in his soft spot, making him release an animalistic groan and bend backward..
She growled and ran out, towards a vehicle. Xavier immediately zoomed out and in a blink of an eye, he appeared before her.
“You’re going nowhere,” Xavier said and growled at her, his eyes turning a bright golden color.
