Valerie.
I swallowed and summoned up courage before walking into the hall. The instant I stepped in, every one, male and female alike turned around to face me.
Definitely, everyone of them could pick up my scent and instantly know I am a Vampire. The women and childre looked somewhat amused , but It was hard looking into the faces of the men, especially those who hadn’t been around at the mansion.
I tucked a strand of hair covering my face behind my ears and looked up to see Xavier standing on the Platform.
He was staring at me like he had never seen me before and I became super nervous. He finally blinked, and gestured with his hands for me to come forward.
He went to seat on one of the seats by the podium and I walked up to him, seating on the empty chair next to me.
“What’s this meeting for?” I asked in a voice as low as I could go. Werewolf hearing wasn’t as good as Vampires so no one should be able to hear.
“To give Gina’s sentence,” he replied and I faced him.
“You didn’t make Carver’s punishment so public, only the men in the mansion were there,” I said and pushed another strand of my hair backward.
“I can see every pack member from outside of the mansion are here.” I continued, clearing my throat.
“You weren’t the only one Gina poisoned,” he said. I was startled for a while before finally remembering Xavier told me some wolves were poisoned before I started feeling the effect of the poison. Those were real wolves though.
“Those wolves are out legacy and it’s a big crime to kill them. Gina killed three of them just the test the efficiency of the Poison.” Xavier explained and I shook my head.
I looked up as Nathan walked towards us and sat on the empty seat next to me.
He faced Xavier and nodded. I glanced at the both of them, staring into the air and nodding. I sighed as they realized they had formed a telepathic mindlink.
What where they saying that I couldn’t hear
I glanced at the hall’s entrance as two men walked in, dragging Gina in. The silver metal I wrapped around her hands were still there and her hair was very rough.
Although, she was looking down, her face looked bruised.
The men dragged her up to the front of the hall and Xavier stood up. Gina looked up at him with pleading eyes, but he looked away from her and faced everyone seated in the hall.
“I’m sure everyone here heard what this traitor did,” Xavier started and everyone started murmuring.
“For those who didn’t know, this traitor here enlisted the help of a wizard and purchased toxic poisons,” he explained and the murmuring continued.
“She not only tried to kill someone with the purchased poison vial, but she killed three of the wolves in the forest,” Xavier continued and gasps erupted here and there in the hall.
He walked towards the men holding Gina and be grabbed her hair, pulling it and forcing her to face up.
“Because of what she’s done, I’ve decided on the perfect sentence for her!” Xavier said in a rough, coarse voice.
I stared at him, waiting to hear how he decided to punish her. I glanced at Jenna seating at the back of the hall and she gave me a nod.
“From today, Gina is hereby banished from this pack,” he said and I widened my eyes in surprise. How was that even a punishment. Before I could think further on it, Xavier talked again.
“But that’s not all, I’ve instructed all the packs in Washington not to accept her into their pack,” He continued and I nodded. Much better.
“Right now, she’s going to be escorted out of our territory and if she ever comes close, the wolves at the border are ordered to tear her apart.” Xavier looked angry and I leaned back into my chair, glancing at the faces in the hall.
The two men who had brought Gina in dragged her out and she shook herself violently, trying to scream through the gag in her mouth.
That’s it. Can I go back to my room now, I thought.
Xavier cleared his throat and everyone faced him again.
“Now let’s move on to the second reason I called this meeting,” Xavier said and I faced Nathan with a questioning expression. He shook his head and looked away.
“I’m sure most of you would have heard the rumors already or very well know the situation already,” Xavier started and I began to suspect what he was talking about.
That was the reason he wanted everyone to be here including me.
“Last week, I met my mate and brought her into the pack,” He started and pointed at me and I sighed, leaning back into my chair in embarrassment.
Every eyes in the hall were literally staring at me.
“You must have all known who she is or what she is and some of you have shown your displeasure in violent ways,” Xavier paused, “yes, she’s a vampire, but just like most of you, the moon goddess has given her to me as my mate and I expect you all to respect this.” He continued and I looked down, avoiding everyone’s gaze.
“Behaving that way would make them see you as a weakling,” Nathan said beside me I sounded barely as a whisper.
I faced him and he nodded, “you need to show them that you are not just afraid of them,” he added and I nodded, swallowing and looking straight up with confidence.
“I held a meeting two days ago with all the head of the families and I think you should have all been briefed,” Xavier continued and glanced at me.
“As of today, Valerie is the new Luna of this pack and I want you all to respect her as such,” he said and everyone faced him again.
