Chapter 31

  Valerie.

"Could it be that there's something about me that they want?" I asked and she shrugged, squeezing her lips.

If they really weren't mainly after criminals, then there had to be some specific things they were looking for.

If there was any specific details, then there had to be a list. A list of targets or a list of people already in detainment.

As if Jenna was thinking the same thing with me, her next words to stand up.

"The flash drive," Jenna said, "The flash drive with the facility details."

Jenna also stood up from the bed and got into her slipper.

I got into mine too and followed her as she walked out of my room. We walked to her room and she hurriedly walked in, going straight to her closet.

She grabbed a bag from her closet and quickly went through the bags content. .

"Yes," she said and pulled out a flash drive. She walked to the table next to her bed and grabbed her laptop.

She's so lucky she was able to grab things she would need. I don't even have my phone.

"We need to show it to Xavier," She said and I nodded, following her again as she walked out of the room.

We walked to Xavier's room and Jenna knocked on the door. In a short while, the door opened and Roderigo stood at the door step.

He nodded as he saw me standing behind Jenna and he opened the door wider to let us in.

Xavier looked up as we walked and our eyes met. It felt weird staring at him after what just happened and the kiss.

He also looked curious about why Jenna and me were in his room.

"Jenna has something that might help with your investigation," I said and Xavier's eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at the laptop in Jenna's hand.

He nodded at the two men in his room, "you can go now," he said and they both walked out of the room.

He glanced back at me and squinted his eyes.

"I was eavesdropping on your conversation," I said and he nodded, regarding my naughtiness.

"So what is it?" He asked and faced Jenna.

"I have a flash drive containing the list of Nexus Services targets and detainees," Jenna said and walked towards Xavier's reading table, placing the laptop on the desk.

She opened the laptop and tried to power it on, but it refused to come on.

"Oh, I think it's dead," Jenna said and I sighed.

"Let me go get the power plug," she said and closed the laptop, leaving it on the table and walking toward the door. I watched as she walked out and closed the door, before looking back at Xavier.

He looked away as my eyes met his and silence remained for a few seconds before I finally decided to talk.

"Xavier, what happened the other time?" I asked and he looked up.

"Nothing, I remembered that I had something important to do," he said and looked away again. He suddenly looked interested in his fingers and I scoffed.

"No Xavier, that was not what it looked like," I retorted and he kept toying with his fingers.

"Xavier, you kissed me and then you suddenly pulled back!" I yelled, "that didn't look just anything."

"And I'm not sure what I saw, but something didn't seem right!" I added. Everything had happened so quickly, I hadn't been able to take note of everything.

He looked away from his fingers and stood up, walking towards me.

"Valerie-" he started, holding my shoulders. He was about to talk, but he suddenly moved back as the door opened.

I turned around to see Jenna walk in with a power plug in her hand.

She connected the large end of the plug Toba socket built into the wall by Xavier's table and put the other end in her laptop.

She tried booting the laptop again and it did.

As soon as the laptop finished booting, she entered her password and inserted net flash drive into the laptop.

Xavier moved closer and watched as Jenna searched for the some files.

"I copied every file I could find on Nexus Services in Jax's computer the other day," Jenna said and clicked on a folder named 'Nefus Services'.

"If this thing is truly classified, his security clearance would only be able to get him minimum information about it," Jenna said as she scrolled through the files in the folder.

"Stop." Xavier said and Jenna stopped scrolling.

"Move back up a little," Jaden said and Jenna slowly scrolled upward.

"Detainee information, stop there," Xavier said and Jenna stopped, the mouse cursor stopping on the file by that name.

She double clicked on it and the file open to show an excel sheet of names and other details.

I bent down a bit lower and slowly read through the information on the screen. What I was seeing was shocking and by the look on Jenna and Xavier's face, they were also seeing what I was seeing.

"They have Werewolves locked up too," I said and faced Xavier.

His eyes flared up and he looked angry. He stood up straight and rested his palms on his waist, pacing up and down the room.

"I've been to the facility several times, but I've never seen or sensed Werewolves except some of the guards." Xavier said bitterly and I stood up straight up too.

"They must have another facility where they keep them," I stated and glanced back at laptop screen.

"How can they successfully take Werewolves from their packs and still keep it secret?" Jenna asked and Xavier looked up, facing her.

"Rogues. It has to be rogues." Xavier said and walked towards his closet, opening it and pulling out a Jacket.

He walked towards us and picked up his car keys from the reading table.

"I have to go somewhere," Xavier said and walked out of the room.

I glanced at Jenna and we both shrugged.

"He didn't look at the rest of the information in it," she said as she removed the flash drive from the computer and shut down the laptop.

She removed the power plug from the socket and carried the laptop, holding it to her chest and waking towards the door.

"I'll see you later. I should be in the training ground by now," she said and I nodded as she walked out of the room.

I sighed and also walked out of the room. I closed the door and twisted my neck as I walked to my room.

I grabbed my door knob and open the door when someone walked in through the buildings entrance..

I looked up and froze as I saw who it was. My hands slowly uncurled around the door knob and my mouth was literally dropping to the floor.

I would recognise that face anywhere, but she couldn't possibly be here.

She smiled nervously as she spotted me, "Hi. I'm Lena. Am I in the Moon Edge Pack?"
