Chapter 34

  Xavier.

I gasped and jerked out of sleep. I looked around and rubbed my eyes. I sat up straight on the bed and tried to remember how I got here.

  -

“Okay, let’s get you somewhere to rest.” Clyde dropped his wine glass on the table and stood up. I did so too and followed him as he walked out of the room.

He stopped walking in the middle of a corridor and stared into the air. I instantly realized that he was having a telepathic discussion with someone.

He faced me and nodded, “there’s a room prepared for you already.” He continued walking and I followed, taking quick glanced every now and then..

The place had really changed since I left.

“But first, there’s a conclave party going on,” Clyde said with a wide grin and I shook my head.

“Okay, let’s go.” I nodded and he grinned even wider. We walked towards the door and Clyde reached into his pocket, taking out his car keys.

He walked towards a white Mercedes and opened the door before walking in. I opened the door to the seat next to the driver’s seat and climbed in, shutting the door.

Clyde ignited the car’s engine and started the car at full speed, driving through the smooth tarred road of the estate. I glanced at the modern houses built around and nodded in acknowledgement.

Clyde had indeed done a very good job there. I should do something like this soon enough. I should definitely transform the territory given to my pack by the government into a modern estate like this. .

The drive from the General Pack Mansion to wherever we are now, literally took two minutes and Clyde drifted suddenly, bringing the car to a screeching halt.

He retrieved his keys from his car and I opened the door, climbing down from the car.

I looked at the massive building before me. It was even larger than the General pack mansion and the architecture was superb.

Clyde stepped out of the car too and I saw a familiar face walk out of the building and walk towards us.

She climbed down the stairs gracefully in her red dress and walked towards Clyde, hugging him and giving him air kisses.

She then faced me and smiled lightly, “Xavier.”

“Evelyn, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” I said and she nodded, “Hmn.” She sounded indifferent as I took her right hand and planted a kiss on it.

Evelyn was Clyde’s sister as she was a very classy woman. She spent most of her years outside the pack as her father made her stay with their aunt in England.

She came back the year their father died and she didn’t take it well that I left Clyde.

She took her hand back and grabbed the small silver purse she was holding tighter. I saw someone else step out of the door and this face didn’t look familiar this time. He smiled as he saw Clyde and walked towards us.

“Cly….you’re late.” The man pouted and moved closer to Clyde, kissing him.

Yeah, I forgot Clyde was Gay.

They broke the kiss and the man faced me with a questioning expression.

“Dan, meet Xavier, the Alpha King of Washington,” Clyde introduced me elaborately and Dan lifted eyebrow acknowledging that he had heard of me before.

“And Xavier, this is Daniel, He’s my boyfriend,” Clyde said and I nodded, stretching out my hands.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” I said and Daniel received my hand into an handshake.

We borke the handshake and Dan grabbed Clyde’s hand, tugging at him in the direction of the entrance.

“Let’s go, shall we?” Clyde said and I nodded, climbing up the stairs and walking into the building.

I soon as I stepped in, my ears were hit with the sound of music and disco lights were rolling on the dance floor.

The ground floor of the building was an open space with no dividing walls. There was a large open ground at the centre and seats arranged in an arc around it. The other half of the circle had two sections: the dance floor and the bar.

Clyde shook hands with people as he cleared a way towards the seats at the open ground. There were some people I recognised from when I was still in the pack, but there was a lot more new faces.

Who wouldn’t want to join a pack where it was the life of party.

Even when his father was Alpha, Clyde held pack parties occasionally.

Clyde sat down first on a seat and Dan hurriedly sat next to him. I moved aside for Eve to sit at his other side and I sat on the empty seat next to her.

Down on the open ground, I saw some men gearing themselves up and training themselves. There was the continuous clashing sound of swords, but more disturbing, the noise from the music shaking the air.

I leaned back into my chair as the fight started between two men. I should also start training my men on sword fight.

It’s been long since we’ve seen the witches show up, but those cunny creatures had once cursed us to be only so powerful on full moons.

Everyone cheered as one of the fighters held the tip of his sword to the neck of his opponent who was lying defeated on the floor.

During the fights, the glasses of alcohol that kept coming to the row where he and Clyde were seemed endless.

As Werewolves, tolerance for alcohol was high and it was hard for us to get drunk.

The aloho kept rolling in and I couldn’t stop myself any longer. Soon, I was becoming dizzy and I could barely focus on the men fighting on the open ground.

  -

I sighed and rubbed my head as it throbbed painfully. I grunted as I climbed down from my bed and I walked to the window, rolling up the curtains to let light into the room.

I rested my palms on my waist and sighed. Then, I heard my phone ring and I looked around before figuring it was in my pocket. I reached for it and brought it out. The screen was cracked probably because of my weight against it while sleeping.

I could still see the screen and it was a call from Nathan.

I pressed on the answer button multiple times before the screen responded and when it did, I dropped the phone on the bed.

“Nathan.” I said and took of my shirt, soaked with sweat.

“What’s happening there?” I asked and the next words he said hit me like lightning.

  “L…...Le...Lena."
