Valerie.
I sniffed and leaned into Darius shoulder as My mom’s coffin was slowly lowered into the ground and I cried.
I was able to spend barely just 13 years with her, but throughout that time, I developed a close bond with her and loved her so much.
She was one of the purest creatures on the planet.
Jordan walked forward and picked up the shovel, packing some sand into it and throwing it into the grave.
Some pack members also stepped forward to do the same and I sniffed, taking my head off my father’s shoulder.
I walked forward and picked the shovel with shivering hands. I scooped some sand into the grave and slowly walking backward, Darius holding me.
I glanced sideways at Jordan and he gave me scornful glare before looking away.
I wasn’t in the mood to think about Jordan’s attitude now so I ignored it. I need to find out what happened to my mother and who Magnus is.
I pulled the gear as I drove onto the main road and I increased the speed. I was on my way back to the pack.
I said good-byes to dad and Jordan already and although I wished to stay a little longer with dad, I couldn’t.
I couldn’t just leave when everyone was on high alert because of me. It was getting dark already, but I could see clearly thanks to my Vampire eyesight.
As I drove, I remembered what my mom had been saying.
I was what?
Was there something about me that I don’t know. I asked Darius before leaving, but he also had no idea about what she wanted to say.
I glanced at the music box in the car and switched it on before pulling the gear and zooming on the road.
About one hour later, I finally reached the pack’s border and I slowed down as I drove into the forest. The wolves howled as I drove through the clear path. They must have sensed my presence here.
I turned off the music playing as I approached the building and I brought the car to a slow halt.
I took out the keys and climbed down, closing the car’s door.
It looked up to the sky and looked at the crescent moon. I sighed before opening the door of the mansion and walking in.
I walked towards Jenna’s room directly and I wanted to knock, but the door knob was bent and the door was a little open so I grabbed the door knob and opened the door.
As I walked in, I saw Nathan pressing Jenna against the wall and kissing her deeply. The two of them immediately seperated and they glanced at each other before facing me with embarrased exoressions.
“Hiii Valerie, you’re back,” Jenna said with an awkward smile.
“Sorry, I’ll just come back later,” I said and before they could stop me, I quickly closed the door.
I definitely disturbed them and those two looked like they couldn’t wait to tear each others clothes apart.
I looked at Nathan’ keys in my hands and made a mental note to return it to him later.
I opened the door of my room and stepped in. I felt a bit surprised to see Xander sitting in my room at the reading table, but I blinked and closed the door.
He looked sideways at me and I smiled as our eyes met.
“Valerie-“ Xander started as he pushed the chair back and stood up.
“I know, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before leaving, but you needed to rest and heal properly,” I interrupted him.
“I know, but you should have at least taken Nathan with you,” Xander said and moved closer to me.
“It’s not exactly where he’ll be welcome,” I retorted.
“It’s dan-“ Xander started again, but I interrupted him.
“You didn’t even ask me what happened!” I yelled in frustration, “my Mom died, and I’m not ready to argue!” I walked past him and opened my closet, putting my bag in it.
“Valerie, I’m sorry,” Xander said, and I turned around to see him looking at me apologetically.
He slowly walked towards me, and I stared at him, rooted to the spot I was in.
He cupped my cheeks in his hands and swallowed.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that I don’t know what I’ll do if you get hurt.”
Warmth spread through my body as he touched me. It would’ve been so much easier if my heart didn’t flutter just by his little touch.
“I’m sorry for being hard on you sometimes. But I just want you to be safe,” he said huskily.
Xander grazed his thumb over my lower lip. I could feel his warm breath as he leaned so close to my face. I had a hard time focusing as he made me feel flustered.
“I know,” I managed to whisper. “S..stop looking at me like that.”
“Looking at you like what?” He smirked.
“Like, you are going to eat me,” I said, letting out a nervous laugh.
Xander looked as if he was taken aback by my joke a bit. “I would never hurt you.” He sounded defensive.
“I know you are afraid, but you won’t hurt me, Xander,” I said in a hoarse whisper.
My heart was pounding and it was suddenly hard to breathe as he pressed his lips on mine. I closed my eyes and parted my lips, allowing him to claim my mouth.
“If you want me to stop, now is the good time to tell me,” he said as he trailed his lips along the lines of my neck. “Because if you don’t, I won’t slow down until I have you entirely for myself,” he growled.
My heart pounded so hardly in my chest as I felt pleasure fill my entire body.
He trailed his lips back up my neck and they slowly found my lips back, claiming them. roughly.
I broke the kiss suddenly and glanced shortly at his dark eyes before beginning to unbutton his shirt.
As I loosened the last button, I began to pull off his shirt and he stretched out his hands violently throwing off his shirt.
He grabbed my own blouse next and I raised up my hands and he pulled it off, leaving me in my bra.
He looked at me with lust in my eyes. "So beautiful," he muttered and began to kiss me on the neck again before pushing me on the bed.
