Xander.
I grabbed my pant and put it on. I grabbed my shirt next and was about to put it on when I saw Valerie walk out of the bathroom.
She looked surprised to see me awake, but she also looked alarmed.
“Valerie, what happened?” I asked.
“Something’s happening outside Xander,” Valerie replied and I was about to ask for details when someone knocked on the door.
“I’ll get it,” I said and walked towards the door. It was Nathan. He also looked alarmed.
“Nathan?” I asked as he panted.
“Nexus Soldiers. Nexus Soldiers are here.”
What? Nexus Soldiers? They really didn’t want to back down.
“What’s happening?” I asked.
“They are without weapons but they are easily killing the pack members who confront them,” Nathan replied.
“What?”
What the hell was Nathan talking about. How could those human soldiers harm Werewolves.
“Xander, by the look of things, they are not normal humans,” Nathan said and I was about to ask what they were when the door burst open.
The wooden door shattered into tiny bits that flew into the air and I raised up my hands to protect my face.
“What’s that?” Valerie asked and ran out of the room.
“Get back Valerie!” I yelled as three men appeared at the door. They were all wearing gas masks and breathing heavily.
I used my hand to push Valerie behind me and my eyes darted to a room open close to the door.
Jenna!
I was going to move, but I saw Nathan zoom past me and stand between the men and Jenna as she walked out of the room.
The men seemed to ignore them and they all turned their necks in unison, their gazes landing on Valerie. F*ck.
The men dashed into the building and I pushed Valerie backward, growling at them.
My claws extracted from my fingers and my eyes turned a bright golden color.
One of them charged at me and I raised my palms to strike him. I groaned as my hand meet his and I felt my bone crush beneath the strength of his arm.
How was this even possible.
He didn’t smell human at all.
As I cried out, the man grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and lifted me up with ease before throwing me away.
I groaned in pain as I crashed against the wall.
What did Nexus Services do to these men.
The man’s eye darted to Valerie and she began to move back slowly.
He tried to grab her hand, but she moved out of the way. He didn’t give up and he charges at her again, but Valerie threw a punch in his chest.
“Ooouch” she cried, shaking her fists. The man remained unmoved, and he tried to grab Valerie’s shoulder.
I groaned as I stood up from the crash and I tried to go help Valerie, but another one of them lurched his tightly clenched fists at me.
I groaned as his fist hit me on the right chin and my head forcefully turned, blood spurting out of my mouth.
“Jenna, leave now,” I heard Nathan say and he faced the third man still at the door. I could hear cries from everywhere.
The pack members were being attacked. Why was Griffin so desperate to have Valerie.
I regained balance and I saw Valerie throw a punch at the man before her only for him to grab her fist.
She cried as he squeezed her fists in his hand and I could hear the sound of her bones cracking.
“Valerie-“ I tried to help her, but the other man held me on the shoulder and I winced in pain at the force.
I turned around and growled at him, I tried to jab his throat with my elbow, but he moved at an insane speed and he hit me in the face with his own elbow. I felt the bone in my nose crack and gritted my teeth.
I attempted to punch him in the abdomen and as he tried to block me, I used my other hand to try and punch his face. Though he was tricked, he was able to move fast enough and he bent his head backward. With my fingers close to his face, I grabbed his gas mask so I could pull him close and the mask was ripped away from his throat..
I movee backward as I saw the man begin to pant and breath heavily. I thought he was furious, so I stepped back slowly, but his face began to turn pale, then green, then red. All of a suddenly, his head suddenly bursted and blood flew all over the corridor.
Gross.
The mask.
“The mask, that’s their weakness,” I yelled to Nathan who groaned as his opponent threw a punch in his abdomen.
“Nathan!” Jenna yelled and got in between the man and Nathan.
I shook my head and quickly went to help Valerie. The man she was fighting grabbed her neck and raised her up, smacking her against the wall.
I dashed at me, but he used his other free hand to smack me in the face and I groaned, moving backward.
The man suddenly lifted Valerie and threw her on his shoulder.
Jenna suddenly screamed as the second man smacked her against the wall and I saw Nathan attempt to stand up, so I went after the man who was trying to carry Valerie out through the back door even as she struggled on his shoulder.
I tried to sneak up on him, but without even turning around to face me, he stretched his left hand to the back and pushed me away.
“Xander-“ Valerie cried as he carried her. I glanced at the tube that connected to his mask and I glanced at the door knob of the door beside me.
I yanked the doorknob out with force and I groaned as I threw the doorknob. It went flying through the air and hit the tube, bursting it.
The man froze in place and Valerie climbed down from his shoulder as his breathing paced up. Suddenly, his head exploded like his partner.
I faced Nathan to see him lurch forward with a silver dagger and he slashes through the man’s mask. He stepped backward and I watched the same process as before take place before the man’s head exploded.
Nathan quickly rushed to Jenna who was sitting on the floor injured. The side of her head was bleeding and me and Valerie walked towards them.
“We have to leave now,” I said and Nathan carried Jenna up in his arms.
I ran to my room quickly and came out almost immediately with my car keys. We ran out the entrance and went towards my car.
I put the key in the car and was opening the door when I heard a voice behind us.
“Where do you think you’re going.” I froze in place and slowly turned around to see who it was.
What the hell?
