Chapter 51

  Xander.

“We have to leave now,” I said and Nathan carried Jenna up in his arms.

I ran to my room quickly and came out almost immediately with my car keys. We ran out the entrance and went towards my car.

I put the key in the car and was opening the door when I heard a voice behind us.

“Where do you think you’re going.” I froze in place and slowly turned around to see who it was.

  What the hell?

“Alex?!” Nathan sounded so surprised. Damn, so was I!

“Alex what are you doing?” I asked my gamma. I knew that he hated Valerie and he wasn’t supporting of her, but was he doing now.

“What do you think I’m doing?” Alex asked and I looked at his claws stick out of his hands.

“I’m not going to let you leave with that woman?” Alex yelled in anger.

  What?

“Alex, who put you up to this?” I asked and I handed the key to Valerie. She continued to open the door and helped Jenna into the car.

“You’re only making things worse by going against Nexus Services,” Alex retorted and I scoffed.

Of course, who else could make Alex do this. Griffin must have manipulated Alex with his hatred, but that couldn’t be all.

“And what were you promised?” I asked, staring at him inquiringly.

“I would be able to do what you’re too weak to do, I’ll be able to lead this pack the right way and the rest of Washington werewolves!” Alex yelled and I nodded. Of course, they promised him he would be made Alpha King.

“Whether you like it or not, we’re leaving and there’s nothing you can do to stop us.” I said and opened the door to the back seat of the car.

“There’s nothing only I can do,” Alex said and I turned around to face him. I glanced around as I saw Werewolves step out of hiding.

I could sense that they were Werewolves, but they didn’t belong to this pack. Nexus Services really did plan everything with Alex.

We were greatly outnumbered and there was no way we could fight them all before Nexus Services sent more of those enhanced men.

I was already becoming frustrated and I glanced at Valerie in fear. I can’t let them take Valerie away from me.

“You have to go,” Nathan said and stood in front of all of us.

“What?!” I exclaimed. What was he saying.

“Nathan, what are you doing?” I asked and walked to the front to face him.

“I’ll hold them so all of you can go,” Nathan said and used his hand to make me stand behind him.

“You have to leave and promise me that you’ll keep Jenna safe,” Nathan said and I saw Jenna struggle to get out of the car.

“Nathan no!” Jenna said and tried to stand up, but she groaned in pain and Valerie made her stay put in her seat.

“But Nathan-“ I wanted to argue with him and refuse, but he stopped me.

“No. You’re the only one that can stop everything that’s happening,” Nathan said and opened the driver’s seat for me to enter, “I’ll be fine,” He assured and came closer to hug me.

“You have to go to Lycian. No one would be able to find you there,” Nathan whispered almost silently in my ears and broke the hug. I nodded and reluctantly got into the car.

I saw some of the Werewolves rush towards the car, and Nathan growled are them.

“Nathan!” Jenna yelled and tried to open the door, but Valerie stopped her.

“Jenna, he’ll be okay,” Valerie assured and I waited for a while before starting the car engine.

I pulled the gear and drove into the forest path.

We soon reached the border of the pack and I drove onto the normal road.

I looked over my shoulder at the back seat and looked at a sobbing Jenna leaning on Valerie’s shoulder.

“Where are we going?” Valerie asked.

“We’re going to an island to stay with Nathan’ brother, Lycian.”

I looked sideways at my phone on the empty seat, waiting for Lycian to call me back. He said he would be here with his jet to fly us to the island.

It was four hours since we escaped from the pack already and I packed the car in the compound of Crescent Consolidated Headquarter.

Lycian was now a really big businessman and the company he started years ago was now flourishing.

“Wait in the car,” I said and opened the door before climbing out of the car.

I walked into the building and headed to the reception, marvelling in the sight of the interior architecture. On our way here, I had called Lycian and he told us to wait in his office at the headquarter so he would come pick us up with his private jet.

I stopped by the reception and the receptionist greeted me with a smile.

“Hello Sir, How may I help you?” She asked.

“I’m Mr. Blade. I’m supposed to be allowed into Mr. Hale’s office,” I introduced myself, hoping Lycian had already made the call to the reception.

“Oh yes.” The receptionist smiled and looked behind me as if she was expecting someone.

“I was told you were more than this,” She said and I nodded with a smile.

“Yes, they’re in the car, I’ll be right back,” I said and walked back out of the building. As I got to the car, I opened the door, “Let’s go.”

Valerie helped Jenna out of the car and I nodded for them to follow me into the building. We walked to the reception and there was a man with the receptionist there.

“Hello, im Mr. Hale’s Personal Assistant, Stefan. Follow me,” he said and I nodded, the three of us following him into an elevator. He pressed a button and the I felt the elevator lift us up.

The elevator soon dung open and we stepped out, Stefan gesturing with his hands for us to go left. We stopped before a door and Stefan swiped his key card on the door, opening it.

“Have your sit. Mr. Hale will be here soon,” he said and I nodded before looking at a couch and sitting on it.

“Excuse me,” he said before leaving the office and closing the door.

“Xander, you left the pack behind, what will happen?” Valerie asked in concern.

“The best thing was to leave. Their lives were only in danger because we were there,” I said, intertwining my fingers on my thigh.

“They would leave them and start searching for us now,” I added.

“But what about Nathan?” Jenna asked and I faced her. She was badly injured and it was a surprise that she was still unconscious now.

“He is most likely to be arrested, but we’ll find him, I promise,” I assured and she nodded. I looked up as I heard a humming sound coming from the ceiling.

  Lycian was here.

I saw a door open at the end of the office and I saw Lycian standing on the stairs behind the door.

“Xander,” Lycian said with a smile and I stood up to meet him, exchanging handshakes with him.

He looked at the faces in the room and then faced me in concern.

  “Where’s Nathan.”
