Xavier.
I glanced at the left side of the road as I passed by the Blue Moon Estate. I didn’t have time to stop by this time so I zoomed past it.
I was now only a 30 minutes drive away from the rebel camp and it was getting dark already.
I didn’t stop for even a bit throughout the drive, but turns out Stefan had packed some snacks I could eat in the bag.
He also had silver darts, daggers, knifes and ropes packed in the bag. I looked at the empty seat next to me as the road became less busy as I was getting close to a country side.
I grabbed the water bottle on the seat and held the water bottle between my armpit, using one hand to open the cover.
I held the bottle up and took down the entire content in a continuous gulping.
I dropped the empty bottle back on the chair and grabbed the steering with both hands, looking at the road.
About 30 minutes later, I could see the entrance of the forest up ahead and I slowed down, carefully driving towards it and bringing the car to an halt.
I turned off the engine and retrieved the car keys, climbing out of the car and closing the door.
I looked up as I heard loud howls and saw some movement in the distance. The movement reduced and I saw one of the men from the previous day coming out from behind a tree and adjusting his pant’s zipper.
Another man appeared too and it was also his partner from the day I first visited.
They smiled as they approached and I regarded them with a nod.
“Last time I came here, I told you about Nexus Services taking Rogues too and you said you’ll gather more information,” I said and they nodded.
“Yes,” one of them replied.
“Well, what do you have now,” I asked, dropping the car keys into my pocket.
“Follow us,” he nodded in the direction of the main camp and I glanced at the both of them before taking a step forward.
We all walked through the forest and I remembered the path to the main camp even by myself.
I had been here twice before.
“I never got your names,” I said and they faced me.
“I’m Dave,” The first one replied. I also noticed that he was always the one to talk and he seemed more free than his partner who seemed rather eccentric.
“I’m Elijah,” the other one replied too and I nodded.
Well, Dave and Elijah, it’s finally time to take down Nexus Services.
I looked up as we reached the building their leader occupied. The guards at the door regarded Dave and Elijah with a nod before opening the door to let us in.
I walked into the building and sighed before sitting on a couch as Dave went up to call Rudolph.
Rudolf followed Dave back down a minute later and he smiled as he saw me.
“Alpha Xavier, I didn’t expect you to be back so soon,” he said with a smile.
“It’s important that’s why and moreover, I don’t think I qualify for that title of Alpha again,” I said with a bitter smile and watched Rudolph’s eyebrows furrow in worry.
Dave and Elijah also looked surprised.
“What happened?” Rudolph asked and sat on the couch opposite me.
“Nexus Services of course,” I replied, but he looked like he wanted to know what they did.
“After I left here the other day, Nexus Services came with a letter that they wanted me to release Valerie to them,” I explained.
“Wait, Valerie. As in your Vampire Mate?” Rudolph asked and I gave an affirmative nod.
“You’re the Alpha King, they should at least respect that she’s your mate and she’s just one Vampire, why do they want her?” Rudolph asked, saying everything in one breath and I nodded, smiling bitterly.
“I don’t know, but they didn’t care and they wanted Valerie probably for a peculiar reaso,” I added.
“So I refused and they attacked my pack with Soldiers,” I continued and I saw Rudolph’s lips quiver as if he was looking for words.
“Attack? They’re just humans!” Dave spoke instead.
“No. Yes. No, they were humans but they were somehow enhanced. They were stronger and faster than all of us,” I explained, recalling my encounter with those enhanced men.
That day, he had easily slammed me against the wall and counter my moves like it was nothing.
My speed seemed to him like an ordinary human speed would seem to me.
“Those laboratory works must have paid off,” Dave said and I glanced at him before glancing back at Rudolf.
“As at now, I’m a fugitive myself and we need to do something,” I said, “you told me you would gather information the last time I came.”
“Yes, I sent some men to spy on them and find out whatever would be useful to our mission,” Rudolph replied and I nodded, staring at him inquiringly.
“They weren’t able to get much,” he continued and I sighed internally in disappointed. On the other hand, I didn’t think that I’ll come back so soon so they couldn’t have had enough time.
“But we were able to know where they take all their special prisoners before moving them to the laboratories,” he replied and I stared at him.
That was good. The only way to fully intercept them was to know the specific things they want and what they want from it.
“The facility also contains all the dirty and illegal details stored in a safe room and if we can get out hands on it, that’ll be enough evidence to show to the public and the ignorant side of the government,” he continued and I nodded.
“Do we know what the facility looks like?” I asked since we couldn’t just break into the place without having a proper idea of what we were up against.
“Yes.” He nodded and signalled to Elijah e ho nodded and ran up the stairs. He climbed back down shortly with a scroll in his hand and he handed it to Rudolph.
Rudolph unscrolled it on the table before us and there was a blue print and layout of a building.
“This was made by one of the men and everything looks like this,” Rudolph explained and I nodded without taking my eyes off the paper.
The building was really complex and had heavy security.
“That’s the safe room.” Rudolph pointed at an area on the blue print and I looked up.
“This is good. We have to prepare to break into that facility as soon as possible.”
