Jenna.
I reduced the car’s speed slowly pulled up before the building of the blood donation camp. If they really did infect every available blood, how about getting blood just as it is being taken out.
I glanced at Jordan who was sitting next to me and I nodded before taking out the keys and climbing out of the car.
Jordan climbed down too and slammed the door shut before following me up the stairs. We walked into the building and I looked around.
“I can smell the blood, it’s in that room,” Jordan said and I faced the direction of the room he was pointing at.
“Is anybody in the room?” I asked him and he focused on the room for a while.
“No.” He shook his head.
I looked at the doctor standing a few metres away from the room and talking to someone. Once she was done talking to the person, she might go into the room and we need to grab enough blood bags on time.
“You still have some speed right?” I asked and Jordan nodded.
“Alright, take this bag. I’ll distract the doctor and you can grab as many blood bags,” I said and handed Jordan the bag.
I swallowed and walked towards the doctor. She stopped talking to the person she was talking to and was about to head into the room, but I hurried up to her.
“Excuse me,” I said stretching out my hands to get her attention and she stopped walking, facing me.
“Sorry, but I need your help doctor,” I said and she nodded.
“Yes ma’am, how may I help to?” She asked with a light smile.
“Umm. Yes. Yes.” I said, trying to come up with what to say.
“I wanted to inquire about blood donation,” I said and she nodded.
I watched Jordan from the corner of my eyes and he nodded before taking a step forward.
“So, you see, I’d like to donate blood and-“ I got interrupted by the doctor.
“Ma’am, if you’d like to donate blood, you can go up to the reception there and you’ll be guided on what to do,” she said and was about to turn around and go back to the room, but I quickly grabbed her shoulder.
She faced me in surprise and I quickly took my hand away from her shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” I apologized and folded my arms behind my back.
“I actually meant that I’d love to purchase some blood,” I said, not knowing what else to say. I saw Jordan zoom into the room at an almost unnoticeable speed and I continued talking to the doctor.
“I don’t know, I’m so confused right now, and it’s really important,” I said, placing my hand on my forehead and pretending to be stressed.
“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but if you need anything, you may see the receptionist? I have to go now,” she said and turned around to leave. My lips quivered and I thought of what to do to stop her until I heard a voice come from the room Jordan walked into.
“Hey! What are you doing here?!” I heard someone ask loudly in the room and the doctor quickly walked to the room.
I also followed her and I walked into the room to see a guard standing before Jordan who was standing beside an open freezer and he holding the bag in his left hand with a blood bag in his other hand.
Oh my God! How was he caught. I didn’t see the guard going into the room.
“Young man, what are you doing?” The doctor asked and Jordan glanced between the guard and the doctor.
Since I was at the back of it all, I signalled to Jordan with my hand and mouthed to him to meet me at the car.
I gently backed out of the room without attracting the attention of the the guard and the doctor.
“I’m gonna call the cops now,” I saw the doctor reach into the pocket of her lab coat and I walked out of the room.
I quickly walked out of the building and opened the car, getting into it.
I ignited the engine and as I began to hear commotion coming from inside the building, I opened the door next to me.
I saw Jordan zoom out of the building with the bag in his hand and he quickly got into the car.
“Let’s go,” he said and closed the door.
I pulled the gear and immediately began to drive away.
“Hey, get here!” I heard a guard scream as he and another guard ran after our car.
I drove onto the road and pulled the gear, driving at full speed.
I muttered a curse beneath my breath as I heard the sirens of police’s car wailing in a distance.
Jordan looked over his shoulder and quickly did too, before barely avoiding colliding into another car.
“They are on our tail, you have to drive fast!” Jordan yelled and I increased the speed to as fast as I could go.
Oh My God. I can’t believe that we’re doing this.
“I can’t handle a car chase, I’m not that good of a driver!” I yelled as I was already getting stressed and I drifted to the left.
I could see the cop cars through the side mirrors.
“I know what to do.” Jordan said and grabbed the bag, opening it. He grabbed a blood bag and quickly began to suck at it, gulping down the whole content.
He dropped the blood bag as soon as he was done with it and he zipped up the bag, grabbing it.
“Jenna, we have to jump out now,” Jordan said and opened the door.
What?
“Jordan, are you crazy?” I looked at him and quickly faced the road again, barely missing a car.
“Just trust me okay?” He said and I nodded.
I slowed down the car and just as it came to an halt, I grabbed my handbag and climbed down from the car.
I looked backward to see the cops also pull over, but Jordan caught me by surprise by carrying me up in his hands and he instantly began to run at super speed.
I felt dizzy in the head and I closed my eyes as the breeze brushed hard against my face.
As soon as we were far enough, Jordan stopped running as I gasped.
I hit his chest and he dropped me on the floor. I sighed and faced Jordan, adjusting my already rough hair.
“You’re crazy.” I said, gritting my teeth.
“I know.” He smirked.
