Jenna.
“That’s it.” I said as I packed up everything we needed and zipped the bag. I handed the bag to Jordan and he collected it from me.
I grabbed my hand bag from the couch and I walked towards the door.
We woke up this morning and after taking out bathes, we are something and began to prepare.
I glanced at the security guard sitting by the gate and waved at him to get his attention. He looked away from the phone in his hand and stood up. He reached into his pocket as he walked closer.
“Good Morning. Here is the key ma’am,” he said and I nodded, taking the key from him.
“Open the gate.” I opened the door of the Mercedes and got in, putting my hand bag at the back seat. Jordan opened the door to the back and dropped the bag on the seat before joining me at the front.
I ignited the engine of the car and slowly reversed before moving forward again and turning towards the already open gate.
I drove out of the gate and slowly turned into the street, increasing the car speed and driving off.
Before going to the facility at Capitol Hill, we were going to stop by at the hotel I lodged in before so I can get the bag I left there.
“How did Valerie meet her Mate, how did she come across him?” Jordan asked.
“Did she tell you her Mate is an Alpha?” I asked, but he shook his head.
“No, she didn’t mention that fact. That must be why she can stay in his pack. She’s secure to an extent,” he said.
“Well, he is and he’s the Alpha King of Washington,” I said and turned the car to the left.
“I didn’t expect that.” Jordan nodded.
“Valerie got raided with other Vampires at a club and she was arrested. Xavier was there that day and he took her away when he found out she was his mate,” I explained.
“Sounds like something out of the movies,” Jordan said and I smiled.
“Now, Nexus Services wants him to return her and they refused his plea despite his position,” I said bitterly.
“They must be desperate,” Jordan stated and I nodded in affirmation. I looked up as I got close to the hotel and I slowly pulled up in the parking space.
“I’m coming,” I climbed down from the car and grabbed my key card from my bag before walking into the building. I walked into an elevator and quickly went to my room. I unlocked the door and walked in, grabbing the bag I left there and walking back out of the room.
I went back to the ground floor as stopped by the reception.
“I’m checking out now,” I said and handed the receptionist my keycard.
She nodded and collected it from me, “thanks for using our services.” She smiled and I regarded her with a nod before walking back out of the building.
The whole time, I was avoiding looking at the room service guy who was standing around the corner.
I walked to my car and opened the door to the bag, throwing the bag there.
“You drive now,” I said and opened the door by the seat Jordan sat on.
I nodded to confirm what I said and he moved over to the driver seat.
I sat where he sat before and closed the door. Jordan started the car again and drove out.
45 minutes later, we got close to the facility and I signalled Jordan to stop the car.
He slowed down the car and brought it to an halt, parking by the side of the road.
“We can’t go there in a vehicle. We’re going to draw attention,” I said and be nodded. He reached to the back of the car and grabbed the bag containing the things we might need.
I opened the door and climbed down, shutting the door. I looked at the vicinity and it was very quiet.
They built this facility away from houses and I wouldn’t be surprised if the few houses in sight were owned by people who knew about their operations.
Jordan also got out of the car and he shut the door. We were going through the back of the facility as we would have 30 seconds before the detection devices found Jordan.
“I can see the back of the building,” Jordan said and I squinted my eyes, but could only faintly see a tall structure..
“I’ll have to zoom you again,” he said and I faced him. Oh God.
It was really scary the first time but I didn’t have any choice, moreover, he’s giving me an heads up this time.
He carried me up and I let out a deep breath before he suddenly zoomed at super speed, my face being beaten by the rushing wind.
“I’m jumping,” he said and suddenly, I felt him lift off the floor.
He suddenly stopped in the compound and dropped me.
I sighed and pushed aside the strands of my hair blocking my face.
“Jordan, the power source, thirty seconds?” I reminded him and he nodded before zooming away.
He already knew where it was since I showed him the building’s layout.
He came back a few seconds later and the wind he caused blew my hair backward.
“I’ve done it,” he said and grabbed my hand.
“Cell 574,” I said as we sneaked in through the back entrance. I looked at the broken doorknob and passed by it. Jordan must have broken it when he went to switch off the power source for the detector and EMP.
Due to the arrangement of the cells, Nathan’ cell was close to this part of the building. I remembered the layout and signalled to Jordan. He immediately understood that there would be guards right at the corner and he stopped walking.
He brought out two masks and handed one to me. I put one on and he wore the other one. Good thing Jordan had this things available.
He brought out a device that contained a gas poisonous to Werewolves, Vampires and Humans. He opened it and threw it in the direction of the guards.
We waited for a while before turning into that corner and I took a look at the four guards lying unconsciously on the floor.
We walked past them and turned into the cell unit of the building.
We were close now.
Jordan brought out a dart gun from his pocket and as the guards spotted us, he began to shoot them before they could react and one by one, they fell down unconsciously to the ground.
He grabbed my hand and we ran down the path path with cells at both sides.
“There.” He pointed at the cell with number 574 inscribed on the top. We ran towards it and I stopped by it, looking into the cell.
Nathan! He was there, sitting at the corner of the room with his eyes closed..
“Nathan!” I said and he opened his eyes, looking confused. He looked up and his eyes widened in surprise as he saw me.
“Jenna-“ he stood up on his feet and walked towards us, grabbing the silver bars of the cell. Jordan grabbed the silver lock of the cell and looked at it before quickly bending down to check for the keys with the unconscious guards.
“Nathan! I’m so glad you’re safe,” I said and he nodded with a smile. Jordan stood up holding a bunch or keys and he began to try them on the lock one after the other..
The lock finally clicked open and he pulled it out. Nathan stepped out and I pulled him into a tight hug.
“Jenna, we have to leave now,” Jordan reminded and we broke the hug.
I grabbed Nathan hand and began to run, but he suddenly stopped and I faced him.
“Nathan?” I asked, staring at him inquiringly.
“Xavier is here. I sensed him.’
