Xavier.
I remained silent throughout the flight back to the island. I glanced at Valerie who was sitting lifelessly next to me. I don’t know how long the revival should take, but I was sure she would come back to life.
I looked at the left and as my eyes met with Jordan, I remembered him stabbing Lena with his wings all over again.
He has an apologetic look in his eyes before he looked away.
I knew it was necessary for something to be done at that time to save Valerie, but it was just painful to rewatch Lena die all over again and in the same way she died before.
Memories of that battle field flashed in my head and I shook my head bitterly. I would make Nexus Services pay for what they did to her.
I would make sure that I avenge Lena and bring Griffin to his knees. I looked at Valerie as she suddenly gasped and jerked up from her seat.
“Valerie,” I said as she opened her eyes. She looked around in confusion for a while before facing me in recognition.
“Xavier-“ she muttered and rubbed the back of her head squinting her eyes.
“Owww. My head hurts so bad,” She complained and I placed my hand on her shoukder. I saw Jordan reach into the bag he was carrying and he brought out a blood bag.
“Here. Drink up.” He stretched it out to her and she nodded, collecting it from him. I watched as she sucked at the blood bag and drank it up and I smiled. I quickly looked away as she faced me so she wouldn’t feel embarrassed.
“So what happened?” Valerie asked and I looked at her, “Where’s Lena?” She asked.
“She’s dead,” I replied and she looked surprised. The look of surprised faded and slowly morphed into a sorry expression.
“Xavier, are-“
“Yes, I’m fine,” I cut in, knowing what she was going to ask, “Lena was no longer herself and I can’t loose you too,” I said with an assuring smile and she nodded, smiling bleakly.
She didn’t look convinced that I was okay. I wouldn’t too.
“It was Jordan who killed her and saved you,” I stated and she faced Jordan.
“Thank you.” She smiled and Jordan nodded. I began to feel the helicopter descending and soon it landed on the ground.
The door opened and Lycian stepped out first, the rest of us following behind.
There were two vehicles waiting for us like the previous times and we all separated ourselves into the vehicles.
In ten minutes, we arrived at the main pack mansion and we all got out of the cars. We all walked into the building and we were welcomed by Alfred.
Jordan was the only one without a room so he followed Albert who was going to show him to a room.
“Go on,” I kissed Valerie on the forehead and she nodded before walking to her room..
Jenna left too and I faced Nathan and Lycian.
“What are we going to do now?” Nathan asked, resting his palms on his waist.
“I’m going back to the rebel camp tomorrow morning so we can try to find the evidences again,” I said and Nathan nodded.
“I’ll go with you,” he said and I nodded l, twisting my head in both sides. I was so tired and I still needed to recover from the torture and pushing my limits when going after Lena.
“I’ll see you in the morning,” I said before walking away. As I walked to my room, I had only one thought and that was making Nexus Services pay for everything they have done.
Jenna had photos of the victims in the Laboratories taken, but that wouldn’t be enough evidence to take them down. They would just wiggle their way out.
Valerie.
I walked out of bathroom with a towel wrapped around my waist. I dried my hair and brushed it before getting into a new dress. I slept so much today.
It was 9; 38 am already and I woke up about 20 minutes ago. I faced the door as someone knocked on it and I walked towards it to answer it.
It was Xavier.
I opened the door wider and walked back to the dressing table to continue packing my hair.
“Good morning, how was your night?” Xavier asked.
“It was fine, and you?” I picked up the ribbon on the table to pack my hair.
“Good. Actually it was great,” he said and I faced him, smiling. He probably didn’t have any of those nightmares about Lena again.
“I actually came her to tell you that I and Nathan will be leaving now,” he said and o dropped the hair straightener in my hand, turning around to face him.
My forehead folded into a frown, “Xavier, the last time you went you were captured,” I said in worry.
“I know, but I’ll be fine. Nathan will be following me too,” he said with a persuasive expression.
“And I promise to call you every hour,” he smiled widely and I chuckled.
“Xavier.” I chuckled.
“Okay, I’ll call you frequently and I’ll come back safely,” he persuaded and I nodded, walking closer to me. He pulled me into a kiss and after breaking the kiss, he smiled in assurance.
He walked out of the door and I followed him.
Lycian was waiting by the door and he glanced at us as she noticed is coming. Xavier walked out of the door and I waved at him as he climbed into car. I looked left as Nathan approached.
He stopped before Lycian, “Be safe,” Lycian said and and they hugged each other. They broke the hug and Nathan was about to walk out when Lycian stopped him.
“Nathan, you didn’t tell me you found your mate the last time you came here,” Lycian said.
Wait what?
“Nathan, you’ve found your mate?!” I asked and Nathan also looked surprised.
“Lycian, what are you saying?” Nathan asked and Lycian first looked surprised before it changed into realization.
“Your wolf voice, you don’t have one but I can read it’s mind,” Lycian stated.
“What?” Nathan exclaimed.
“It’s Jenna. Jenna is your mate.”
I walked back to my room just as Jenna saw her off. I was so happy for her. She got to keep Nathan as her mate.
I opened the door to my room and I gasped as I saw three women standing in my room.
“Vustrus nsolww halreh nemolsa. Vustrus nsolww halreh nemolsa.” They began to chant.
What the heck! Witches!
Suddenly, I began to feel dizzy and I tried to scream for help, but I couldn’t make any sound. The last thing I saw was one of them carry me before I became unconscious.
