Chapter 73

  Jordan.

I grunted as Lycian threw a punch in my abdomen. I zoomed to his back and tried to hit him, but he bent over and grabbed my hand.

He twisted me around and I tried to step on his right foot, but he immediately shifted his foot backward.

He wrapped his hand against my neck with my back pressed against his chest and his other hand held my left arm to my back forcefully.

I choked as he pressed his hand tighter.

I tried to jab with him in the side with my elbow, but he moved backward and pushed me with force, throwing me off balance. I regained my footing and tried to kick him, but he grabbed my leg and pushed me away.

I staggered backward before regaining my balance. This guy was really countering all of my moves.

“Okay, I give up,” I said, raising my hand in the air, “it’s like you know all my next moves,” I added bitterly.

“I do,” Lucian said and I faced him to see him smirking.

  “What?”

“I can read your mind so I know what you want to do next,” he said with a devious grin. Oh. A Lycan.

“That’s cheating!” I hollered and he shrugged.

“Not likely.” He turned around to walk away.

“Wait.” I stopped him and he turned around to face me with an inquisitive stare

“What am I thinking now?” I asked and he smiled.

“You’re thinking of purple giraffes. What the heck?” He asked, looking at me like I was crazy.

“No. That was just a decoy so I can do this.” Immediately I talked, I zoomed towards him and wrapped my own arms around his neck, holding his right hand to his back and pressing him against me.

“Good.” He chuckled and he suddenly threw his head backward and I bent my head backward to avoid his head bashing my face.

Before I could lean back up, he moved backward with force, making me loose balance and let go of him.

I was about to fall backward, but he grabbed my hand. I smirked and pulled him so he would fall down instead.

He grunted and bent his knees so that the both of us fell. He grunted as he fell and I fell on him, our chests pressed together and out faces inches away from each other.

Being so close to him gave me a front row seat to his bright blue orbs.

There was an awkward silence and I could feel his breath lingering on my face. My eyes flickered to his lips and I swallowed before quickly getting up.

“I have to go see Valerie now,” I said and I helped him up to his feet. He nodded and turned to walk away. I glanced at him shortly before walking out the training room.

I walked to Valerie’s room as I wanted to inform her that I’ll be leaving and going to the Coven this evening. I reached her room and stopped by the door, noticing it was partly opened.

I knocked on the door and waited for a while, but I got no response.

“Valerie.” I knocked on the door again, and when nobody replied, I opened the door wider and walked into the room.

There was no one there. My forehead folded into a frown as I thought of where she might have gone.

I walked out of the room and closed the door. I saw Lycian walk in my direction and he stopped to face me.

“What happened?” He asked and glanced a t Valerie’s door.

“I came to check on Valerie, but she isn’t here,” I said and he shrugged.

“Have you checked with Jenna?” He asked and I shook my head, “No.”

“I’ll go-“ I dropped talking as I saw Jenna approach. She pushed a strand of her hair aside and she glanced at the both of us curiously.

“What’s the occasion?” She asked and briefly looked at Valerie’s door.

“Have you seen Valerie?” I asked and she shook her head, “No.”

“I actually came here to see her,” she stated and I frowned. Where could Valerie have gone?

My eyes darted to the left as I saw Albert and one other man walk into the door. They looked somehow alarmed and I wondered if it had something to do with Valerie’s disappearance.

“Mr. Hale, some men reported something disturbing now,” Albert said, facing Lycian and I stared at him curiously, scared that something bad might have happened to Valerie.

  “What?”

“They reported seeing Witches appear at the border,” he said and I scoffed.

  What the hell?

  Witches?

I thought this dimension became toxic to Magicians when the magic circuits were polluted by that evil Wizard, what’s he called……….Ryker.

“How could they have possibly seen witches?” Lycian asked and I nodded. Yes. How?

“We did,” the man standing next to Albert replied.

“I was there and I saw them appear through portals and they were chanting,” he explained and my mouth was practically left open.

How could they be here? Why were they back to earth? And why did they come here of all places.

“Pfttt,” Lycian scoffed and chuckled. Yes, it was unbelievable. They would be unable to practice magic if they came here and their aging would speed up.

“I don’t think this is a trivial matter Mr. Hale,” Albert said, looking all serious. I didn’t want to believe any of these because I was afraid that it had something to do with Valerie’s disappearance.

“Why did they come here?” Lycian asked, now looking serious.

“I saw three of them disappear and they appeared back at the border after some time,” the man standing next to Albert explained.

“Gen, so what happened really. Magicians never do something without a purpose,” Lycian said and he was already getting impatient.

“When they reappeared, they were carrying the Vampire lady with them,” he said and I shove my fingers into my finger.

Oh no! Don’t tell me it’s Valerie.

“Gen Who?!” Lycian raised his voice.

  “The new Vampire lady.”

Fuck! What does those Magucuansy want with Valerie. They were cunny creatures who always did things with a purpose and Valerie could be in danger
