Xavier.
I pulled the gear and turned into another road. We were already close to the rebel
Camp and he just called them that I and Nathan were on our way.
“So Jenna is your mate?” I asked and glanced at Nathan. I’m had heard the conversation he had with Lycian while seating in the car.
I knew that Nathan had a special connection to Jenna even before they accepted each other and started dating.
I was happy for him and Jenna. I had always worried about what would happen when he found his mate. Turns out she was his mate all this while.
Since Jenna was a human, she wouldn’t get the wolf telling her he was her mare, and as a Lycan without a inner wolf to talk to, Nathan would also be clueless.
“Yes.” He smiled lightly.
It was a bit common for Werewolves to have human mates, but in my own case, getting a Vampire Mate was almost unlikely.
Just like in Nathan and Lycian’s case, if I ask Valerie ever had children, they would be Lycans. The thought of seeing Valerie pregnant brought a smile to my face.
“She’s human so there are some things that you would have to do,” I said and Nathan faced me.
“You can not just mark her and claim her in the normal Werewolf way,” I added and he nodded, with an understanding expression. He knew what I was saying.
“I know,” he said.
“When all this trouble is over, I’ll propose to her and marry her with tjr consent of her parents,” he continued and I nodded.
I looked up, noticing that we were close to the camp already.
I slowed down as the car approached the entrance of the forest. They really needed a drive though path in this place, but I couldn’t blame them. They were in hiding aklnd they couldn’t attract attention to themselves.
I brought the car to a halt and I glanced at Nathan, nodding before retrieving the car keys. I opened the door and climbed down, looking up as Dave and Elijah walked towards us.
The previous plans had not changed. We were going to break into the same facility as before. Nathan slammed the door shut as he climbed down from the car.
“It’s noon already so we have to make the most of the day,” I said as I was in a hurry as I couldn’t wait to finish all of this and go back to Valerie.
I couldn’t help this bad feeling I have been having all day that Valerie was in danger. That feeling kept tugging at my heart and it was disturbing. Every minute in the car, I wanted to tell Nathan, but I couldn’t.
It was probably just my mind playing games on me. Valerie was at the island and she was safe with Lycian and Jordan.
No one else knew about Nathan’ brother and couldn’t connect us to him. Even if Nexus Services were going to check the packs to see if any of them had helped us hide, they wouldn’t find us.
Lycian bought that island as one of his properties for vacation and the clan of Vampires and Werewolves wasn’t registered under the government.
There’s no single trace and Valerie is safe, I thought.
We finally arrived at the main camp and we were ushered into their leader’s house.
Rudolph was already waiting in the sitting room and he smiled as he saw us. Nathan hadn’t been here before so he stared at him inquiringly.
“He’s Nathan. My partner,” I said and Rudolph nodded, pointing at the couches. I nodded and took my seat, Nathan seating next to me.
“I was told about how the last mission went,” Rudolph said and I nodded, “if you are caught this time, there might be nobody to save you,” he said with a concerned look.
“We were caught because we were ignorant of what they had. If one human and one Vampire could break in and free us, we’ll be able to do this,” Dave who standing next to Rudolph said and I looked up at him.
He was right. If we work in the same way that Jenna and Jordan did, we’ll be able to get into that facility safely.
All we need is a less clumsy job so we’ll have enough time before they realize that they’ve been infiltrated.
“We need to leave immediately,” I said and Rudolph nodded in support.
“Dave will give me a call when you get there. If you don’t call back in four hours, I’ll send men to break you out.”
I climbed down from the car as Elijah parked metres away from the detention facility. I could see the back of the structure from where we stood.
According to Jenna, she and Jordan went through the back and had the power source of the detector and EMP deactivated within 30 seconds of landing into the building.
“….. okay,” Dave cut the call with Rudolph and walked towards us, giving us a nod that we could go ahead.
We all walked towards the building and I quickly raised my hands to stop them. There were guards on two watch towers at the back of the building.
They must have tightened their security after the last break in because there were no watch towers attached to the back of the building and definitely no guards there.
Because of our enhanced sight, we could see the guards, but the guards couldn’t see us until we get close enough.
I faced Dave and who also seemed to have noticed the guards. We could do the same thing we did earlier. Dave opened the bag he was carrying and brought out some darts wrapped in leather and handed it to the same Vampire as the other day..
The Vampire nodded and collected the darts from him. He suddenly zoomed forward at super speed and even my sight could barely keep up with what was happening.
Within ten seconds, he zoomed back and the four guards on the Watch towers fell one after the other to the floor without making a sound.
We continued running towards the building and I raised up my hand for everyone to stop moving.
“We have thirty seconds so we have to do this together,” I said and they all nodded in affirmation.
I stretched out three of my fingers and folded one in, then the other. As soon as I completed the count down, we all leaped up together, jumping over the tall fence and landing in the compound quietly.
Immediately, one of the two Vampires zoomed away and in 10 seconds, he came back and stopped, the breeze blowing my hair backward.
I stared at him inquiringly and he nodded in confirmation. I waited to see if the alarms would blare like before, but when it didn’t, I sighed in relief.
Let’s get this over with.
