Chapter 80

  Griffin

  Two Year Ago.

I smiled as I watched Arie laughed while playing on the merry go round in the park. My wife leaned into my shoulder and I faced her, wrapping my hand around her shoulder and placing a kiss on her forehead.

We had brought Arie to the pack and the two of us were sitting on clothes spread on the grads.

“Out little girl has grown so quickly,” she said and I hummed, “hmn. Hmn.”

“Griffin, are you sure you should be here right now?” My wife asked, “with everything that’s happening, you might be needed,” she said and took her head off my shoulder.

“Vera, I promised Arie that I’ll bring her to the pack today,” I said and glanced at Arie who was playing. She looked so happy.

“The Werewolves and the supernatural force at already distributing the cure and if they need me, they’ll give me a call,” I assured Vera.

With the blood flu virus making Vampires go crazy and go on a blood thirsty rampage, the whole city was in alert, but there’s a cure now and I’ve done the things I needed to do before coming here.

“She looks so happy right now.” I smiled as I looked at Arie again.

Vera nodded and placed her head back on my shoulder.

We remained in that position for a while, watching our daughter have fun.

All of a sudden, I heard a loud snarling sound and I looked up to see a man with his face stained with blood and blood dripping from his nails, no claws!

  He was infected.

My wife too noticed it and she took her head off my shoulder standing up.

My eyes darted to Arie and back at the infected Vampire.

“Arie, come here now!” I shouted, but she glanced at us, laughing before continuing what she was doing.

“Arie!” Vera shouted and we ran towards Arie. As we ran to get Arie, the Vampire spotted us and began to walk towards us, walking like a zombie.

I bent down and quickly grabbed Arie and pushed her behind me, letting Vera have her. I pulled out a gun from under my shirt and I pointed it at the Vampire..

He continued coming closer and I fired a bullet at it’s chest. He staggered backward as the bullet hit his chest and he stopped moving for a while.

I slowly began to move backward with my wife and daughter and it suddenly began to continue walking towards us.

“You two need to leave now!” I shouted, briefly looking over my shoulder at my wife and daughter.

I fired another bullet in the Vampire chest and he staggered backward again.

I looked over my shoulder to see that my wife and daughter were still there.

“I said go now!” I shouted again.

“But Griffin-“ she started and I noticed the Vampire continue to move towards us.

“Go!” I shouted and as I was about to fire another bullet at the Vampire, he snarled and jumped forward.

I raised up my hand to shield myself, bracing myself for the attack, but suddenly, the Vampire got pushed to the left by a man that jumped on it.

I gasped and moved backward as I saw the man with claws, furs and fangs jump on the Vampire.

The Vampire snarled and kicked the Werewolf off him. The Werewolf growled back at the Vampire and swung his claws at the Vampire, but the Vampire zoomed out of the way.

Before the Werewolf could turn around, the Vampire stabbed him with his claws through the back.

The Werewolf groaned in pain and fell on his knees to the floor.

I began to walk backward slowly before starting to run away with Vera and Arie.

I suddenly looked up as I saw something fly above our head and the Vampire landed in front of us.

Before I could react, it snarled and slashed Ariel’s neck with it claws.

“Arie!!!” I and Vera screamed as Arie froze where she stood before falling to the ground.

“You monster!” My wife rushed at the Vampire, but it suddenly drove it claws through her heart.

It took out its claws from her and before she fell to the ground, he caught her and sank it’s claws into her neck.

I was unable to move or make a sound as looked at Arie lying dead on the floor and Vera’s lifeless body in the hand of the Vampire.

He suddenly lifted his head away from her neck with his eyes red in color and his blood dripping from his mouth.

I looked at the two holes in Vera’s neck and watched him let go of her, Vera falling lifelessly to the floor.

He bent down and carried up Arie’s body.

I felt so sick that I was so fear stricken and helplessly unable to do anything or even move. I watched as he sank his fangs into my little girls neck and l watched as he drained her of blood, dropping her too on the floor.

I heard the Werewolf behind me groan in pain and noticed him move.

The Vampire faced me with his red blood thirsty eyes and I was finally able to move. I raised up my gun again and fired a bullet in his chest.

He staggered backward as the bullet hit his chest and I began to walk backward slowly, watching him recover from the bullet.

He began to walk towards me again with blood dripping from his mouth to the floor.

I raised up my gun and prepared to fire another bullet at him, but he snarled and leaped toward me with his claws. I raised up my hand, bracing for the strike, but the Vampire suddenly stopped moving. I slowly took my hand off my face and looked up to see the Werewolf holding a syringe that he stabbed the Vampire in the neck with.

I watched as the Vampire fell to the ground and color slowly returned to his pale face.

The claws and furs of the Werewolf disappeared and I looked at my wife and daughter lying dead on the floor with tears in my eyes.

  I would avenge their death.
