Xavier.
I bent down and leaned towards the doctor to see if he was still breathing. He was still alive.
Griffin must have forced him to do this as I knew what kind of man Griffin is. The Rippers must have left him for dead.
I looked up at the rest of them nodding rjsy he was still alive.
“He might be able to fix all of this.” I suggested and they nodded. I held my finger to his and saw that his pulse was low. I looked up and faced the Vampire, “Your blood can revive and heal him,” I said and the Vampire nodded. He walked closer and I stood up, stepping aside to let him pass through.
He bent down and I watched as he bit his hand, causing it to bleed. He held his hand to the doctor’s mouth and the doctor remained unconscious for a while until I saw his lips begin to slowly suck on the Vampire’s blood.
This was the third time we’d be going on a mission together and I still didn’t know his name. Never came up and I never asked.
I saw the doctor open his eyes and he continued sucking on the Vampire’s blood till he looked like he was fully conscious.
He suddenly took his mouth off the Vampire’s hand, surprised that he was drinking his hand. He spat to the ground and I looked at the red colored saliva.
“Wh… what?” He looked shocked.
He wiped his lips and sat up on the ground, moving backward. He looked at us one after the other and then looked back at the Vampire, looking at the blood on the Vampire’s hand.
“V…… Vam….Vampire,” he stuttered, looking so scared.
“We are not here to hurt you,” I said, trying to persuade him to calm down, but he didn’t look convinced.
He picked up the club and stood up on his feet, walking away from us.
I shook as my head as he slowly stole towards the door, but I zoomed in front of him to stop him.
He flinched backward, gasping in fear and shaking. He swung the club at me and I stepped aside, the club missing me by an inch. He grunted as he swung the club at me, “don’t you dare come near me!” He yelled and I quickly avoided the club again.
“Doctor-“ I started trying to calm him down, but he yelled again and swung the club at me.
I suddenly caught the club in my hand mid air and I yanked it out of his hand, throwing it to the floor. He looked scared and he slowly moved backward away from him.
I realized I was now looking angry and I quickly made the look disappeared as I didn’t want to give him any more reason to be scared.
“You want to go out? You’re free,” I said and pointed at the door.
“Don’t don’t scream to us for help when the Rippers attack you,” I said and he looked surprised.
“What? What do you mean?” He asked. I pointed into the room and they stepped aside for him to see Griffin’s body.
He looked shocked and scared to see Griffin’s lifeless body and slit throat.
“What have you do to him?!” He shouted, accusing us and at the same time looking scared.
“We didn’t do anything to him, we came to correct what he did,” I stated and reached into my pocket, taking out my phone.
I unlocked it and clicked on the video Lycian sent me, showing it to him.
“……..I don’t know …. They’re appearing out of nowhere and they have these crazy look on their faces….. They have this cool claws and they’re randomly attacking people. The roads are blocked and people are getting killed randomly. It’s so terrifying and exciting at the same time.” He gasped as he watched the video and he looked at us again before taking a look at Griffin’s body one last time.
“He attacked me. He must have done this even though I told him they weren’t ready,” he said and placed his hand on his forehead with a look of distress.
“They’re never going to stop until there’s no one to kill,” he said with his voice dripping with dread and I glanced at the others.
“Doctor…….?”
“Kealan,” he replied, looking down.
“Dr Kealan, is there a way to stop them?” I asked and he remained silent for a while before looking up like he had remembered something.
“Yes,” he declared and I sighed in relief.
“Doctor Kealan, how? How can we stop these Rippers?” I asked.
“If I can send a satellite signal, they’ll all leave wherever they are and come back to this facility,” he said and then I glared at him inquiringly.
How was that a solution. They were just going to slaughter all of us here?
“I can then release a gas that’ll shut their nervous system,” he said and I sighed in relief until he looked up to face me and said one more word.
“Permanently.”
I looked at the others and they were also probably thinking what I was. That was so many people and they’ll all die for some something they didn’t ask for.
“Dr. Kealan, is there no way to cure these Rippers?” I asked hopefully, but he crushed it by shaking his head.
“No.”
This was going to be a hard choice to make as we were deciding the fate of over hundred individuals. On the other hand, they would slaughter a lot more people, that is if they haven’t done that already and unless they were sacrificed, there’ll be more than an hundred lives on the line.
I looked at the rest of them one last time before giving Dr. Kealan an approving nod.
“Let’s do it.”
