I watched as soldiers searched everywhere in the buildings, gathering the bodies of the Rippers.

　　I moved aside as Doctor Kealan was wheeled out of the building and taken into an ambulance vehicle. He was definitely going to get punished for what he and Griffin did here.

　　Too bad the real mastermind of all this wasn’t around to get the punishment he deserved.

　　I was hurt that Dave died. After all this years of hiding and fighting for liberation, he finally succeeded and he died before he could celebrate it or even have time to enjoy it.

　　“I think we should go back to the island now,” I heard Nathan voice behind me and I turned around to see him walk up to me.

　　“Lycian called me now and he said that something is happening,” Nathan continued and I unfolded my arms staring at him inquiringly.

　　“What?”

　　“He didn’t tell me, but he said we need to come quickly,” Nathan stated and I nodded. I faced Greg who was standing next to me. He seemed to have heard what Nathan said.

　　“You can go ahead. I’ll find a way to get back to the camp,” he said with a supporting nod.

　　“Okay, tell Rudolph I’m sorry about Dave and I’ll come to visit when I can,” I said, placing my hand on his shoulder.

　　“We’ll most likely all go back to where we came from, but I’ll deliver your message,” Dave assured and I nodded before walking back to the car.

　　I climbed in and started the car as I closed the door. Nathan climbed in too next to me and closed the door before I drove out of the compound.

　　I dropped the phone as I ended the call with Lycian. We were already close to his company’s Headquarters and he was on his way to pick us with his helicopter.

　　I was curious to know what was so important that he told us to come back quickly. I silently prayed it wasn’t about something bad happening to Valerie.

　　I tried to push the thought aside telling myself that the last time I worked myself up, I called and she was actually safe.

　　I didn’t want to confuse myself and think too much about what it could be so I tried to take off my mind off it.

　　I would know soon enough.

　　I switched on the radio in the car and decided to listen to the local news instead.

　　Broadcaster;…… to witnesses, they reported seeing the super powered mutants known as Rippers stop the attacks suddenly and began to move away in unison.

　　According to the government, the Rippers have been taken care off as of the last hour, a total of 237 people have been reported dead and 48 people missing. The president gave a speech in a press conference earlier today, consoling the families of the diseased and promising justice and punishment for those responsible for all these. He further stated that the families of the diseased would be compensated accordingly.

　　I heard my phone ring again and I quickly turned down the volume of the radio. Nathan glanced at me and I picked up my phone, checking the screen.

　　It was Lycian calling.

　　“It’s Lycian.”

　　I accepted the call and dropped the phone on my lap, using my both hands to grab the steering and drift onto the road on the left.

　　“Xavier?” Lycian’s voice echoed from the phone.

　　“Yes? We’re on our way,” I stated and pulled the gear, slowing down as the road became more busy with cars.

　　“Okay, just wanted to let you know we’re at the headquarter already,” he said.

　　“We’ll be there shortly,” I assured, “is Valerie with you?” I asked.

　　“Yes, she is and she’s safe, don’t get yourself worked up,” Lycian assured and I was about to ask to speak to her so I could hear her voice, but she suddenly cut the call.

　　I tapped my foot on the floor of the car impatiently as there were several cars on the road before me and the traffic was not fast.

　　What caused the hold up?

　　I continued driving slowly as the cars in front of me moved. I rolled down the windows by my side and looked out to see what was the cause of the hold up and I looked up.

　　To my surprise, there was blue ripping of waves up in the sky.

　　What the hell was that?

　　“What’s that?” Nathan asked and I looked inside to face him.

　　“I don’t know, look out the window,” I said and looked back outside.

　　I heard him roll down the window at his side and I stared at the blue ripping in the sky as it became bigger and bigger.

　　I kept the car moving slowly and I stared at the ripping in the sky.

　　A large whirling suddenly began to form in the sky and it slowly began to occur to me what it was.

　　It was a mega portal. It was a magical portal supposed to transport a large number of people.

　　When the Magicians left earth to go to Maldoria, they left in something like this all over the world.

　　Although, it was less conspicuous and only supernaturals could see them. They probably didn’t care again since the humans have discovered about the supernatural race.

　　Where they coming back? I thought earth was toxic to them. Just as I suspected, large numbers of Magicians flew out of the portals before becoming invisible almost immediately.

　　What was fucking happening.

　　With most cars stopped, I maneuvered my way through the cars and when the road became free, I began to drive at full speed.

　　Could this be related to what Lycian said was important.

　　In five minutes, we arrived at out destination and I pulled up in the parking space. I quickly climbed down and closed the door before walking into the building with Nathan following behind.

　　I didn’t bother to stop by the reception, but the receptionist glanced at us and didn’t stop us. We walked into the elevator and entered the floor number before the door closed.

　　It soon hissed open and I stepped out, going straight to Lycian’s office.

　　I opened the door and saw the four of them, Valerie, Jordan, Lycian and Jenna seated and waiting for us.

　　I smiled as me and Valerie’s eyes met and she stood up to meet me.

　　“I’m so glad you’re safe,” I said and pulled her into a hug.

　　“Me too,” she said as we broke the hug. Jenna and Nathan also let go of each other and I decided to raise what I just saw.

　　“We saw the Magicians coming back to earthon our way here,” I said and just as I had suspected, they didn’t look surprised.

　　“Yes, we know cause some of them abducted Valerie before,” Jordan said and I opened my mouth in surprise.

　　I knew the feeling I had that time wasn’t wrong and that’s why Valerie didn’t pick my calls or call me.

　　I faced her with concern and asked, “why? What did they want?”

　　She remained silent for while before finally giving a reply.

　　“Because I’m pregnant and they want to kill out baby.”
