Xavier.
“Because I’m pregnant and they want to kill our baby,” Valerie said and I froze in surprise.
Did she just say that she was pregnant with my baby? I didn’t know if I should be happy or scared that our baby’s life is in danger.
“Xavier?” Valerie looked worried and I realized I was looking like a seen a ghost.
“Oh My God Valerie, You’re Pregnant!” I said finally reacting with a wide smile.
“Yes, we’re having a baby,” she said and I pulled her into a tight hug once again.
I broke the hug and I stared at her stomach, placing my hand on it to feel it.
I couldn’t feel any sign of life or sense any movement. She was newly pregnant and the baby had not even formed yet.
“Why do they want the baby dead?” Nathan asked and I nodded.
Yes. Why? What does those creatures want with my baby?
“They were saying something about my child being an imbalance in nature and being an abomination,” Valerie explained and I stared at her in surprise, “they said that he’ll be the end of us all.”
“What?!” I exclaimed in surprise. That was crazy. The child wasn’t even born yet.
“Wait. He?” I asked, just processing that bit of information in my head.
“Yes. Our baby is a boy,” Valerie affirmed and I smiled happily.
“When I was abducted, I had a dream and my mom was there. She warned me to protect my son and she called him Draco,” she explained and I hummed.
Interesting. I was going to call my son Draco after my father when I had one. Nathan faced me as he also knew this.
“My father’s name was Draco,” I stated. Did this mean that Valerie’s mom has seen what would happen?
“Xavier, I think our is special,” Valerie said and immediately she did, I remembered one piece of information that she needed to know.
“Yes. And that was the reason why Nexus Services wanted you in the first place,” I said and glanced at everyone in the room.
Everyone except Nathan were curious to hear what I had to say.
“Valerie, you’re half Vampire and half Witch. You’re an Hybrid,” I announced and Valerie seemed shocked to hear that.
“What?!”
I looked out the window of the helicopter as we reached the island. The island became bigger and bigger until we landed on the floor and I looked away from the window, smiling at Valerie.
She still looked shocked about the information. She never knew that it was possible or that she had a witch side.
She had never for once in her life practiced magic. I let go of her hand as the doors were opened and I climbed down after her. She adjusted her hair as the rotating blades of the helicopter blew them into the air.
“I think this was what my mom tried to tell me before she died and even in the dream I had,” she said and I faced her, placing my hand on her shoulder.
“What’s worse is that I never got the chance to know that I could practice magic or try naughty tricks as a child,” she said and frowned, facing me.
“Do you think you can use magic?” I asked and she shrugged.
“I don’t know, but I wish I knew before sacrificing my wings to stay in the sunlight,” she said.
Oh that! Those crazy Magicians were also the cause of this. The only thing they ever since to chase is balance, balance, balance.
They wanted Werewolves and Vampires to have an ultimate weakness and they cursed Vampires to be slaves to sunlight and Werewolves to be slaves to the moon.
We were able to break the curse, but that time many Vampires sacrificed one of their abilities in exchange for a Magician breaking the curse.
“I told you to sacrifice your hearing then, but you didn’t listen,” Jordan cut in, moving closer to us.
“For someone who doesn’t have enhanced hearing, you’re nosy,” Valerie said and rolled her eyes at him.
“You two weren’t exactly talking quietly,” he retorted, making an hear quote.
“I sacrificed the one thing that made me more less of a human,” Valerie replied, “plus, I love to be able to hear things over a distance,” she added.
“Pfft. Only nosy people do,” Jordan chuckled and Valerie hit him playfully on the shoulder.
“Do you think mom has something to do with me not unlocking my magical side?” Valerie asked suddenly looking serious and I looked at Jordan to see his reaction.
He shrugged..
“If that’s what she wanted to tell you the other day, I guess.” He kicked a stone on the floor casually.
We suddenly stopped walking as a gust of wind began to form in the air before us. The gust of wind became bigger and bigger and I held my hand to my face to prevent something from blowing into my eyes.
“Valerie.” I grabbed Valerie by the shoulder and made her stay behind me as the gust of wind turned to blue waves that whirled in the air to slowly form a portal.
Two Wizards suddenly stepped out of the portal and we moved backward.
I saw Lycian try to reach into the bag he was holding for something, but one of the Wizards pointed his hand at Lycian and the bag left Lycian’s hand, reappearing in the Wizard’s hand.
“What do you want?” I asked them to confirm what I was thinking and slowly stepped backward.
They both looked at Valerie who was standing behind me, confirming my suspicion. They were still onto our baby.
“We want to make sure that abomination is never brought into this world,” the other Wizard replied. I got angry suddenly and my eyes turned a bright golden color with my claws extending from my fingers.
“Don’t you call my child an abomination!” I bellowed.
One of the Wizard’s hands began to glow and green waves sparked around his fingers. He pointed his hands towards me and I slashed my claws at him before he could cast whatever spell he wanted to.
“Celeste.” He chanted and I felt an invisible force push me backward and I groaned as I crashed to the floor. Valerie was now directly in front of them. I was about to stand up and do something, but I looked up as a purple purple portal formed.
Ah! Reinforcement.
A Wizard wearing a hood suddenly jumped down and he blasted the two Wizards away with purple light blasts.
“Moticus Incidium.” He chanted before the Wizards could react and they suddenly began to glow brightly before disappearing.
What the hell? Who was he.
He turned around to face us and he slowly took of his hood to clearly reveal his face.
“Uncle Garr!” Valerie and Jordan exclaimed together.
