Chapter 105

  Xavier.

I watched as the men buried Alex’s body in the forest and covered it up with sand. He wasted his life all because of power and nobody was even here to mourn him or feel sad for him.

Just like me, his parents were killed when he was ata young age by Vampires. I took him in, trained him, trusted him and made him the Gamma when I started this pack, but he betrayed me.

Now that he was dead, the pack would need a new a gamma and the only person my mind could go to was Raphael.

He turned out to be even more trustworthy than Alex. Immediately I remembered that he was missing and Alex had mentioned that he was tied up in his house.

“Raphael-“ I muttered, Nathan and Valerie facing me.

“I’ll go get him,” Nathan said, but I gestured to him to wait. I wanted to see what Alex had been putting him through, but I didn’t want to leave Valerie alone.

She understood and she nodded, “I’ll go with you,” She said and we followed Nathan back to the main pack mansion. We turned around to the back and walked through the streets of the pack.

We finally reached Alex’s house and we climbed up to the front door.

Nathan tried to open the door and he turned the door knob, but the door was closed.

He moved backward and looked at the door, before kicking it forcefully and the door flung open, the hinges breaking off.

We walked into the house and it was completely empty. Alex didn’t have any family and hadn’t met his mate yet.

“He said he kept Raphael in the basement,” Nathan said as we looked around, srachii for the entry point into the basement.

“There,” Valerie said and I faced her to see her pointing at a stairs by the kitchen that led down.

We walked to the stairs and climbed down. It led to a door that was shut close to a large iron rod.

Nathan grabbed the silver rod and groaned as he pulled it out. He kicked the door next and it flung open.

I looked up and saw Raphael at the far end of the basement. His both hands were held apart by silver chains attached to the walls and there was a silver leash tied to his neck. His body was oaler and he was facing down with his eyes closed.

He didn’t seem to even notice that we were inside the room. It made me wonder when last Alex fed him and what kind of food he feeds him.

I heard Valerie gasp beside me and I faced her.

Alex really hid his true colors from me all these years. He was a power thirsty monster and he didn’t mind hurting his fellow Werewolves just because of the title of the Alpha.

He only behaved like a good person all these years because he had never been given this kind of chance.

Me and Nathan walked forward and looked around the room. I finally spotted the keys hung on a nail in the wall. I walked there quickly and grabbed the keys.

I walked back to Raphael and began to try the keys on the chain strapped around his left hand.

I finally unlocked it and the chain fell to the floor, his left arm dropping to his side.

I went closer to him and unlocked the collar around his neck too. The collar must have been very tight as his neck was so red in color.

I felt guilty immediately. If I had known that something like this would happen, I would have let Raphael leave with us.

I didn’t expect that Alex would make the move he made. I thought he would leave with the Nexus Soldiers and the Rippers. I didn’t imagine that he’ll be so bold and make himself the Alpha.

I walked to the other side and unlocked the other chain too. As Raphael was about to fall, I rushed forward and carried him up.

He opened his eyes slowly then and he seemed surprised to see us.

“A… Alpha Xavier,” he said weakly and I nodded.

I faced Nathan and Valerie as we walked out of the basement.

“He needs a healer to take care of him,” I said, walking up the stairs into the main room.

He was the only healer the pack had and I never let him follow any of us to fight or do anything dangerous.

Now that he was the one ill, there was no one that could heal him.

I carried him out of the house and we walked back to the main pack mansion. As we got to the entrance, Nathan quickly climbed up and he opened the door for me to pass through.

I walked into the building and carried Raphael into the healers dorm.

I carried him to an empty bed and dropped him on the bed.

I stood up straight and sighed, resting my palms on my waist.

We needed a healer. Raphael looked very sick and tortured. I didn’t want to imagine what would have happened to him if we came back later than this.

“I can go look for a healer outside the pack,” Nathan suggested and I faced him.

“That would take too long. He doesn’t look like he can last that long.” I shook my head.

“My blood,” Valerie suggested and I faced her.

  What? Her blood?

“Valerie, your blood can only heal humans. Raphael is a Werewolf,” I said.

“I know, but maybe we can try. I just have the feeling that it would work,” she said casually, “it won’t hurt him right?” She asked and I nodded. It won’t.

I pulled out a silver dagger from my pocket and handed it to her. She collected it from her and she looked hesitant for a while before gently cutting herself with the dagger.

The dagger bounced off her skin, refusing to cut her palm. The three of us glanced at each other in surprise.

The same thing happened when Alex tried to stab Valerie.

“Why am I not getting hurt by silver?” Valerie asked and I also wondered the same thing.

She was a Vampire, at least, part Vampire, and silver should be able to hurt her.

Silver has always hurt her before………….. I suddenly realised what was happening.

“Valerie, I think it’s our baby. This started after you got pregnant,” I said and she nodded in realization.

  “It’s our baby protecting you.”

Mages considered anything without a weakness or a strong weakness an imbalance so was it possible that our baby would have no weakness because it’s a Tribrid?

Valerie handed the dagger back to me and she raised up her hand. She bit her palm and as it bled, she held it to Raphael’s lip.

Raphael gently drank the blood and after a while, Valerie took her hand away.

I looked at Raphael, waiting for what would happen and all of a sudden, I saw color begin to return to his face and he opened his eyes widely.

  What?
