Marc.
I looked over my shoulder as I felt a portal opened. To my surprise, Nate was fucking holding about a million bloodbags in his hand. Okay. Maybe about a dozen.
Was he bloody kidding me. I asked him to get one. I wasn’t going to give the prisoner a f*cking banquet! He just needed to be gain a bit strength, not have enough strength to escape.
“I asked you to get a bottle of blood, not raid an entire clinic!” I screamed on top of my voice and shook my head as he dropped the blood bags in fear.
Why did I ever have to get a younger brother who is so dump!
I grabbed one of the blood bags and threw it at the prisoner, Jordan. He looked at it skeptically and when I asked ‘what?’, he replied explaining that the humans have been posoining the blood supplies.
Ha! Bloody Humans. Nate would have surely inspected them so I threw him the blood bag. He reluctantly opened it and as he drank it, he suddenly spurted blood out of his mouth, coughing.
What the heck! There were blood stains all over my cloth.
Did Nate inspect these blood bags. Jordan began to cough, violently, spurting blood.
“Nate, why didn’t you inspect these blood bags!” I screamed as Nate and he looked down apologetically. What a dumbass.
“You have to do something,” His partner said and I moved forward when blood was no more spurting out of his mouth. I grabbed the chains and made them disappear, helping him up to his feet.
I groaned as he suddenly jabbed me in the elbow and he held his claws to my neck, restricting my hands so I couldn’t cast any spell.
“If I hear anything like a chant or see any glow, I’ll slice his neck,” he threatened and then instructed Nate to release his friend. He began towards the door with his claws still om my neck and his partner followed him.
His partner grabbed two blood bags on the floor and suddenly, he let go of me, zooming out of the room. I gasped in relief and faced Nate.
“You fool! You shouldn’t have let him go!” I yelled at Nate.
“He would have hurt you!” Nate defended himself but I scoffed.
“We are damn Mages. You could have done something, maybe let the chains disappear, but then wrap around Jordan’s hands instead!” I yelled and looked back at the door, we can’t let them escape.
“Let’s go!” I yelled and suddenly, we turned into lightning bolts that flashed through the building.
I rematerialized as I saw he was about to open the door, stretching out my glowing hands and holding the door in place.
I nodded at Nate and the two of us were about to chant so they’d fall unconscious, but Jordan zoomed at us. Before I could blink, he sank his fangs into my neck and I winced in pain. He began to suck at my blood and I suddenly remembered the things I saw in his mind. He had a double consciousness and my digging messed with his mind and brought the dark one closer to the surface.
If he wasn’t stopped, he’ll go out of control..
“Jordan-“ his partner called and sighed as he snapped out of it and let go of me. I held my neck and saw the two of them trying to escape again.
“Let’s go.”
He can’t get away with this.
“Don’t you dare!” I yelled and felt my eyes turn green as I summoned on the natural energy. Jordan winced in pain and let go of the doorknob as it became hot.
The branches in the former room began to crawl towards us as I used their energy. I was about to cast a spell when a portal opened on the wall and a Wizard stepped out of it.
I didn’t need reinforcement or someone else taking this glory with my family, I thought, but it turned out I was wrong and he wasn’t here to help us.
He suddenly cast a spell and an invisible force threw me and Nate backward. I didn’t see that coming.
A Wizard helping them! A traitor! An enemy of the greater good!
I got filled with anger and stood up on my feet. I began to siphon more natural energy and the branches grew even more, some climbing onto my body.
Filled with power, I chanted sent a massive wave of energy that would disable them temporarily and watched it flow at them.
The Wizard mmediately got in the way and he quickly stretched out his glowing hands.
“Nivellum.” He also chanted and the moving wave stopped all of a sudden. The wave dispersed in the air and I watched as all the branches on the wall and the ones on my body turn grey and disappear into thin air.
Almost immediately, the Wizard chanted again and I saw a transparent grey wall stand block Nate and me from reaching them.
Angrily, I and Nate began to fire blasts at the field, but before we could break it, they left in the portal on the wall.
The field finally crashed down and I gritted my teeth in anger, hitting my fist on the wall.
We were so close to getting them to talk and getting our hands on the abomination child. Our family would have been forever praised and honored if we had been successful.
How dare that Wizard. We need to get to that Hybrid fast.
I felt the pain on my neck and touched it. That bastard bit me with his fangs.
“His fangs!” I said out loud, getting an idea and Nate faced me, looking confused.
“We can use this injury to track them,” I said, but he didn’t look convinced.
“Marc, That connection is too weak to be used for a locator spell,” Nate disagreed.
“We just need more magic,” I said and Nate stared at me inquiringly.
“We’ll get the help of other Mages from out clan,” I explained and he nodded, but he looked at me disapprovingly again.
“We’ll lose the glory for it,” he said and I nodded. It was true, but we had to do this.
“It is better that we let others take in the glory, than to soil the name of our family and bring shame to our generation by letting this opportunity to stop the abomination slip away,” I stated and he nodded.
No matter what, that child needed to be gotten rid of or he would wreak havoc and end every one of us.
“Let’s call for our fellow brothers and sisters.”
