Jordan.
The Magical society are constantly looking for a way to find Valerie and every second, they get closer so we can’t be in the same place for long,” Garr said and I sighed, knowing that we’ll have to keep moving everytime untill Valerie gives birth.
“How much longer can we stay here?” Xavier asked. Yes. How long?
“I don’t know, maybe two weeks, but for now, I would place a cloaking spell around the building.” Garr replied.
“Raphael, this is Valerie’s brother, Jordan, her uncle, Garr, and Nathan’ brother, Lycian,” Xavier introduced us one after the other, gesturing at us with my hand.
“Wait. Nathan, you have a brother?” Raphael asked in surprise.
“I stand as am untold tale, hmn,” Lycian said and we all burst into laughter. As the laughter died down, I glanced at Valerie and saw that she suddenly gasped in pain and bend with her hand clutching her stomach tightly.
“Valerie!” Xavier exclaimed and he bent down to help her up. I became worried for her baby and I feared that it could be those Mages attacking it magically.
“Valerie, what is it?” Xavier asked amd Valerie continued groaning in pain, clutching her stomach tightly.
“We. …we need to leave,” Valerie said, groaning and using one of her hands to point at the door.
What was she saying?
“We have to leave this place now. My baby is sensing serious danger,” she croaked out in pain, still pointing at the door and pulling Xavier to help her leave.
I looked at Garr with a curious stare. What was this?
“I don’t know what she’s feeling, but she can’t be saying all of this for no reason so we have to take precautions,” Garr said and I looked at Valerie who was still holding on to her stomach.
“Fine, let’s get you out of here,” Xavier said and helped to stand up straight.
Garr stretched out his hands and a gust of wind began to form in the air.
Thr gust of wind turned into purple waves that began to whirl rapidly in the air to form a portal.
The forming portal suddenly stopped opening and I faced Garr.
Why did he close the portal.
He faced us looking alarmed and I stared at him inquiringly.
“If we leave through this portal we’ll be followed,” he said, but I didn’t understand him.
“A strong magic just placed a tracker spell on the portal,” he explained.
Those bastard Mages. They must be close by at the moment. How did they find us?
I had the feelings it was those Wizard siblings that captured I and Lycian, but how were they able to track us. Even if they found something, it couldn’t be a pointer strong enough to use in a locator spell.
Unless they had enough magic.
Immediately, the door of the room opened and the same man who had questioned us before walked in.
“Roderigo, what’s the matter?” Xavier asked.
“A Mega Portal just opened above the pack and there are Magicians flying out of it,” Roderigo said and I muttered a curse beneath my breath.
A mega portal? How plenty were they?
“How many of them?” Xavier asked the same question on my mind and I stared at Roderigo, waiting for an answer.
“They are so many,” Roderigo answered, “o think it’s an entire Coven of Magicians.”
Oh My God! I sighed in frustration and shoved my hand into my hair. There was no way we could get out of this trap.
I knew that those Wizards would seek for help from others, but why did it have to be this much.
“What do we do now?” Valerie asked and she seemed to have calmed down. Seemed like the danger she was talking about was already here.
There was nothing we could do now. They had tapped into the magical environment and would only follow us anywhere we portal to. We also definitely can’t outrun them.
“There’s only one thing we can do,” Garr said and we all faced him.
“Raphael, can you please ask them what they want and try to stall for a bit?” Xavier asked and Raphael nodded. He walked to the door and left with Roderigo.
“Before Miranda died, she gave me some instructions in case some things like this happened,” Garr stated and I remembered seeing Miranda talking to him that day when I arrived at the coven.
“It might be hard to do, but we have to put Valerie into an hibernation spell that’ll break only when she’s about to give birth,” Garr said and I didn’t expect that to be the kind of solution he was ready to offer.
“How does that help. They’ll keep trying to get to her and they’ll kill her in her sleep,” Xavier said and I nodded in support of what he said.
“The hibernation will completely shield her and the baby’s aura,” Garr stated, but I wasn’t convinced. Unless they saw with their eyes that the baby’s life was taken, they’ll suspect a foul play and would only find a way of countering the magic.
“And she also gave a solution that’ll keep everyone away and end the hunt for the baby’s life,” Garr added.
“What?” Valerie asked.
“She gave me a cloning ring that create a physical and spiritual replica of you. I’ll show your dead body to the Mages and I killed you because I’m a Wizard who also wants the same thing,” He explained and his hands glowed. A golden ring appeared in his palm and he held it out for us to see.
He faced Xavier who in turned faced Valerie and they stared at each other. They were probably thinking what to do.
Valerie would have nearly 9 months taken from her, but it’ll probably look like she slept briefly when she wakes up. Xavier on the hand would have to wait for all that period for her to wake up and give birth.
It was the only solution though and those Mages would soon start attacking and searching for her.
“Do it,” Xavier stated and Garr nodded. He stretched out his hands and I watched as he conjured a coffin up.
The coffin slowly dropped on the floor and it opened up.
He gave the ring to Valerie and she put it on.
He grabbed her hands and began to chant.
“Jeruso Halestro Diromio. Jeruso Halestro Diromio.” Suddenly, I saw a clone of Valerie appear next to her with eyes closed. Garr letr go of Valerie and grabbed the lifeless clone before it could fall to the floor.
Valerie also closed her eyes as she went unconscious and Xavier caught her in his hand.
“Place her in the coffin," Garr said and Xavier slowly placed Valerie in the coffin, making her lie on her back.
Garr stretched his glowing hands attjr portal and he began to chant again. I watched as the coffin glowed and the lid slowly dropped, shutting the coffin.
With Valerie's clone in his hand, he faced us.
"I'll show her to them now," he said and walked out of the room.
Would they truly buy it?
