Jordan.
I felt my dark replica feed me with strength and I summoned that strength and turned around, looking away from the bodies.
I felt my face revert to the normal color and I made my fangs disappear. I breathed out loudly and sighed deeply.
Okay, Jordan, cool off and calm down, I told myself and closed my eyes as I tried to shake off the image of the dark replica.
For some reason, it felt like the dark replica considered blood lust as weakness. I don’t know if it’s just me, but maybe not just blood lust, he also hates having to feed on blood.
The strength I used to gain control felt like it was from him. Yes. I’m probably loosing my mind and I need to find help once all this is over.
Darell still knows nothing about this and he needs to. Plus, I have no way of getting out of here without a portal.
I held my hand to my ear to check if the earpiece was there.
“Darell,” I called and waited for a response.
“Jordan, where are the two officials supposed to bring you back, I’ve been waiting for you and I’ve been trying to communicate with them,” Darell replied and his voice was loud.
Okay, this is gonna be shocking to hear, but-
“Darell, they are dead.” I said slowly and waited for a reply. There was silence on his end for a while.
“D…dead?” Darells sounded so surprised.
“Yes, Darell they are dead,” I affirmed and I heard him sigh loudly in frustration.
Yeah. Nobody expected something like this to happen. If Nicole and her group could be so prepared for this, I had this feeling that the Sanctum officials would be unsuccessful.
They would either get attacked or mislead.
“Jordan, how did that happen?” Darell asked.
“When I got here, there was a cloaking spell and when it fell, I met them dead with gutted throats,” I explained and I heard Darell groan. I heard the sound of something hitting the table and I walked out of the alley, standing by the road.
“I’m stuck here,” I said, looking at the cars driving left and right.
“I’m coming to pick you up now,” Darell stated.
The air was cool, breeze gently and I could already see that winter was approaching. I sighed loudly and breathed in the air.
I looked around as I heard a ripping sound and I watched a gust of wind form in the air. The wind turned into green waves whirling around as a portal formed.
Soon it was fully formed and Darell stepped out of it with Lycian.
“Jordan-“ Lycian said in relief and walked towards me, pulling me into a tight hug.
“I’m so glad you’re safe,” he said and broke the hug. He looked at the bodies of the dead Sanctum officials and shook his head.
I looked at Darell who was inspecting the bodies of the dead men on the floor and he didn’t look happy.
He brought out a device from his pocket and I saw a green infrared light at the tip of the device scan the bodies.
“They were killed by Magical cause,” he said and faced me. We were right. Nicole and her group had Magicians helping them to carry out their operations.
But Magicians could only survive here ten months ago. If Magicians couldn’t help them before that, how could they have been able to avoid the radar for so long.
Well, Sanctum was just formed and Nexus Services only cared about wiping out supernaturals.
He pointed the device at them again and this time, a blue infrared light scanned their bodies.
The bodies disappeared and Darell put the device back into the pocket of his coat.
“Let’s go.” He said and I nodded before walking into the portal with Lycian beside me.

I walked to the fridge and touched it, looking at it curiously. I decided to push it aside and unlike I had expected, the fridge moved out of the way easily.
It didn’t even have any weight. It was fake.
The door didn’t have a door knob or a way to open it and I looked at it up and down.
I slightly pushed the door with my hands and to my surprise, I heard a loud creaking sound. The walls parted into two sides and even the door shifted with one side of the wall, opening a door sized path before me.
That’s incredible.
I walked in and it lead to a small narrow room.
What the heck! What was the purpose of all that dramatic wall opening and secretive path when all it lead to was a tiny and narrow room that could barely fit four people.
I was about to walk out when I noticed the sound of the floor beneath me. I stopped walking and gently stomped my foot on the floor to listen to the sound.
That makes sense. There’s something under this place.
I slowly bent down and knocked on the floor, listening to the sound it produced and trying to determine an entry point into whatever was under this place.
I finally stopped moving my hand and as pushed tjr floor. A square shaped board went a little lower beneath the floor then I slipped my fingers through a little available hole and I pushed it under.
There was a flight of steps right beneath the floor. I took a look around again and sigged before climbing into the stairs. As soon as I set foot in, the dark stairs was immediately illuminated be light bulbs.
Hmmm. Remote sensor lights.
I continued climbing down the stairs till I reached the foot and I walked into a very large room.
I gasped as I looked around the room. There were several dead bodies around the room and there was blood all over the room.
I slowly walked through the room, taking a look at the dead bodies as I walked.
I stopped walking, shocked to see a familiar face lying dead on the floor. This was one of the men who were supposed to be around the corner when I meet Nicole and then follow her.
What’s happening? Why am I seeing all of this? When would I get out of this stupid portal. I thought it brought back only memories, but all these were things I’ve never seen.
I continued walking, but then I gasped and froze in place, spotting someone else lying dead on the floor.
“Lycian.” I croaked out in fear and looked at the drying blood flowing out of his gutted throat. Lycian!
What am I seeing? What’s all of this?! I had barely processed the horrific image before me when I saw myself lying on the floor next to Nathan.
I was also dead and blood flowed out of my stomach.
“You’re only weak.” I heard a familiar voice from behind me and I turned around to see my dark replica appear in the room.
He looked at all the dead bodies in the room with pity and disgust before looking back at me.
“You!” I said, pointing my finger at him.
“What are you doing?” I asked and I was already beginning to feel afraid about everything I just saw.
“Pfftt.” He scoffed.
“Why are you messing with mind by showing me all these?” I asked. It had to be. He could also control what happened here so he was intentionally creating this terrible reality just to mess with my head.
“Me?!” He asked and I scoffed. He was going to deny it.
“Why would I show you any of this?”
“Maybe so you can successfully make me mentally unstable and then finish your mission to kill me,” I replied, shrugging, but he shook his head.
“Believe it or not, all this is a result of your weakness!” he retorted, gritting his teeth.
“You need me and unless you give me control, you’re going to lose everything you love,” he threatened and I shoved my fingers into my forehead, gritting my teeth.
He was fucking messing with me, I thought and I took a look at the dead bodies of I and Lycian.
I closed my eyes and breathed out loud. That instant, I felt sucked away from that reality and I opened my eyes.
