Jordan
I zoomed down the stairs and I walked to the door. I opened it and Stefan was standing there with a man in his late forties standing behind him.
“Hey Stefan,” I said with a smile and opened the door wider so they could come in.
I closed the door as they walked in and they went to seat on the couches..
I walked to them and I noticed Stefan staring at me. I took a look at myself and saw that I hadn’t completely buttoned up my shirt.
“I hope we didn’t disturb anything?” Stefan asked with a sly smile and I shot him a “Fuck you” glare before smiling..
“No, you didn’t,” I said and quickly buttoned up my shirt.
“Lycian was having his bath when you arrived and he’ll be down shortly,” I said and sat down, facing the man sitting next to Stefan.
“This is Mr. Landon. He’s an experienced Supernatural defendant and I’m sure he can handle whatever you and Lycian got yourselves into,” Stefan said and I heard the sarcasm in his voice as he said the last words.
I shot him a glare before facing Mr. Landon again.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Landon. I’m Jordan Hudgens,” I introduced myself with a smile which he returned.
Normally, that should come with an handshake, but I didn’t just feel like.
“So I was told that you had an issue relating to Sactum,” Mr. Landon said and I nodded.
“Yes, and as a matter of fact, we need your help to wiggle our way out of a potential blood rehabilitation,” I heard Lycian’s voice and I looked sideways to see him climbing down the stairs.
He was all dressed up formally, and he still looked sexy.
“Blood rehabilitation! What did the two of you do?” Stefan asked in disbelief and I smiled.
“It was me,” I said and Stefan faced me with an inquisitive stare.
“It was ten months ago and Nexus Services had all blood sources polluted,” I stated and faced sideways as I felt Lycian sear next to me on the couch.
“I was managing till my help was needed to expose Nexus Services so I had to steal freshly donated blood so I’d be strong enough,” I continued and paused, “and that was 10 months ago before Sanctum was even formed!” I raised my voice in frustration.
“According to Sanctum, Jordan has to either serve a blood rehabilitation term or help in one field mission,” Lycian said and we all faced Mr. Landon.
“Since I did that before they were formed and for reasons that helped everyone, is there a way to get out of all of this?” I asked and stared at him inquringly.
“Actually, Sanctum was formed to clean up the mess of Nexus Services, handle everything they missed while focusing on illegal projects instead and to monitor supernatural activities, so anything that happened as far as when Vampires were infected, exposing the supernaturnal world is handled by them,” Mr. Landon said and I nodded. He just invalidated the point about what I did happening before Sanctum was formed.
“And as for doing it for the right reasons, it still happened and it caused commotion among the humans at that time. They wouldn’t just let it go,” he continued and I nodded. He just invalidated another point.
I’m beginning to think that this man is here to judge me instead of figuring out a way to get me out of this mess.
“Look, he is currently involved in one of Sanctum’s field mission, but we are tiree and what we want is how we can get out of both options. Maybe bail, fine, or something,” Lycian said and I could hear the irritation in his voice.
“Unfortunately, Sanctum gave you the only two options lawfully available for this type of offense,” Mr. Landon said and I sighed in frustration.
I had this sudden urge to zoom forward and snap his neck, but I controlled my self.
“But-“ he started.
Good. A ‘but’.
“But I can figure something out to help you.” He said and I shook my head. That wasn’t satisfying to hear as I had expected.
What I want to hear is a solution, not a statement filled with uncertainty and contemplation.
I looked sideways as I heard a ripping sound. A gust of wind formed in the room, blowing away and messing up my hair.
The wind gained a blue color and whirled around in the air to slowly form a portal..
They are here.
I watched as Darrell and two officers stepped out of the portal.
He glanced at me and regarded me with a nod.
“I hope you are ready?” He asked rhetorically.
I’m not. I can never be ready to go out there to meet a woman I had dated years ago and who is working for a dangerous syndicate that wouldn’t hesitate to slit my throat. Of course, I can never be ready for that.
All I did was humm and nod with a smile.
He looked at Stefan and Mr. Landon and looked at them, curious to know who they are.
“That’s Stefan and this is Mr. Landon, my Supernatural defendant,” I said and he nodded with a smile.
“And oh. They’re coming with us,” I added and he looked surprised for a while before nodding in approval..
Good. I stood up and Lycian did too.
“I’m supposed to meet Nicole at Wisconsin Avenue by noon. We have one hour,” I said to Darell and he took out a device from his pocket.
“First we have to get you ready first,” he said and switched off the device. The blue tip of the portal device shot out blue waves of light that whirled around in the air to form a portal..
I frowned as I realized that getting me ready meant making me look miserable as they did the other day.
The portal fully formed and I faced Lycian. He nodded and grabbed my hand before sighing and we both walked into the portal.
