Chapter 128

  Jordan.

I turned around so I could leave this basement, but was met with yet another shock.

Nicole! I gasped as I saw Nicole standing before me with a smirk. Before I could react to her presence here, her hands behind her back revealed a silver plated bat and she suddenly swung it at me, smashing it in my head. I heard a ringing noise in my ears and felt my head throb in pain, while still desperately trying to fight the darkness I was being drawn into. My vision got blurry as I lost the fight and I lost my balance before falling to the unconsciously.

I slowly opened my eyes as I stirred back to consciousness. I groaned as I moved and I felt my head ache badly. I looked around and saw that I was still in the secret basement of that house, sitting on the floor and hands tied behind my back to a silver pole and with silver chains.

That slowly brought back the memories of what had happened. I was about to leave when Nicole showed up and the last thing I saw was her swinging a bat at me.

Crazy bitch! I cursed within myself as the silver chains bit into my skin. She made it so tight, there was no space to even move my hand.

I looked around the room again. She wasn’t there. Where did she go?

I was beginning to get confused now.

I thought that this was my mental world and I believed only I and my dark replica could be sentient beings here. Even if I imagined interacting with someone else, they should be able to do only what I want them to do. They should have their personal motive or try to attack me.

First it was Lycian suddenly coming back to life and now it was that bitch pulling off a surprise attack on me.

Where the hell was she by the way?! Immediately I asked myself that question, I heard a creaking sound coming from above and I knew that someone was heading down here.

Rightly so, I saw Nicole climb down the stairs and she looked super pissed with me. Whatever the hell did I do to her in a “non-existent” reality.

“Hiiiii.” I said and groaned internally as my head throbbed. She hit me real bad.

“You hit me bad. Game’s over. Now, come and release me,” I said hoping that I had control over her actions she would do exactly as I said.

She stopped moving immediately and the angry expression on her face wore off. For a second I was happy that it had actually worked, but then, she smirked and grinned wickedly.

  Good one! She tricked me!

“Absolutely not!” She retorted and I sighed in frustration. Why won’t this place just collapse?

First it was my dark replica and now it was Nicole! What the hell did I do to her.

“Okay. At least, tell me what I did to you,” I said, making an effort not to move my hand as the silver chains were biting my wrists.

“Everything was going just fine until you showed up,” She said and took a glance around the room. I did too and for the upteenth time, my eyes scanned the faces of all the dead bodies in the basement.

I looked at her again and she looked super furious with me.

“You should never have come back and get yourself involved in all this,” she added and I shook my head..

What the fuck was she saying. This was a damn mental world my subconsciousness drifts to so I haven’t taken any action and I have no idea about what trouble I had caused her and her group. At least the mental versions in my head.

I stopped immediately as the realization of a possibility struck me. Could it be that this was all a warning about something that would happen in reality?

What if this was what this mission would lead to? I glanced at the dead bodies of I and Lycian immediately and in that second, a strong feeling of dread and fear overwhelmed me..

No, it couldn’t be. I am a Vampire, not some seer or supernatural variant.

This was all an imagination. This was all a projection of my subconscious that was scared this might be the outcome of such a dangerous mission.

“I’m gonna make you regret that I am not one those dead bodies lying around!” Nicole yelled, getting my full attention again, “I’m gonna make you pay for all this!”

I watched as Nicole took steps backward. She walked to the wall and brought down a painting on the wall. There was a lock hidden behind the painting.

She typed in a password and the lock twisted before the wall divided into a small compartment.

It wasn’t just any compartment. It was filled with weapons. Silver weapons that could cause a Vampire or Werewolf all sorts of horrors. How was all this weapon here and why does she even know where they are or how to open it?

Even though I would step out of that portal, this was also almost real and it would hurt. It would hurt so badly.

  *

I blinked as I stepped out of the portal and my hand was still holding onto his’ as he stepped out next to me.

I looked around me again and sighed. We were back in this shit hole.

We all walked into an elevator and I watched the doors close with an hiss.

“We have just an hour. We have to hurry up,” Darell said in a hasty tone.

Yeah. There was a huge possiblity that Nicole was going to introduce me to whatever illegal ring or syndicate she was a part of. If that was the case, we couldn’t risk loosing such an opportunity and we need a very good plan. One that would be much better than the easily ridiculed plan we had on the first day. A kickass strategy.
